One Simplicity Pattern | Many Dresses

I have, over a period of time, used Simplicity 8873 to create several summer dresses. This pattern has been my tried and true pattern, which encouraged me to continue using since it works well.

I really like the dress with the tiered midi skirt. As usual, your workmanship is impeccable. Would you consider doing a tutorial on the dress, as I would like to see how to sew the lining.
Marlene, thank you for watching. The tiered maxi dress does not have a lining, and the dress I plan to sew will not have one. If I sew another dress with a lining, I will definitely record and share🙂
Karon, I can't say enough about your sewing skills! You have taught me how important it is to finish each garment on the inside. All of your summer dresses are gorgeous. I can't believe you haven't worn some of them yet!

Karon, those sundresses are just beautiful! But I find it tragic that you’re not wearing them. 😢Dresses are perfect for summer! Cool and classy! I love all of them but my favorite might be the nautical one with the cute sandals. You don’t need an occasion to wear one, put one on and go grocery shopping!😊
Donna, yes, I have started wearing them now. Previously, I didn't think I had places to go to wear the dresses, but I put them on some weekends now😀
Karon , you just know your stuff when it come to sewing your dresses you know what you like in a dress patterns and fabric like I said all the time too you Happy sewing

Those are so beautiful! I like the pink dress, I don't know where you could wear it, but it is lovely. You really to either quit making pretty dresses or start wearing them! You are so gifted with your hobby, but wear your garments!

I’m a guy and don’t wear dresses, but this was a cool experiment seeing the same person in the same (or 90% same) pattern just in different fabrics. Sometimes it’s difficult understanding how to make something that isn’t a copy, or HEAVILY inspired by, the pattern envelope fabric choice. Thank you. Nice work.

My goodness, Karon, you are a skilled sewist. The inside of your garments looks as wonderful as the outside. I have mastered French seams, but I sure couldn’t apply bias binding as neatly as you do. I’m also impressed that you get so much done in addition to a job outside the home!! I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing your beautiful makes.

Wow you do love that dress! I do have that pattern and made view B. It turned out beautifully! I used a boarder print. I love it so much I ordered another boarder print fabric. I plan on making view A also. I did line the top of the dress. It’s an easy make! All of your dresses were gorgeous. 👗🧵🪡🥰

I feel you should use that full skirt pattern. Give it a go. Maybe you can lower the waist and back bodice with the fuller skirt?

I can't believe you haven't worn any of those beautiful dresses. You do such a wonderful job creating them. You must wear them. Would you consider doing a sew a long on one of your dresses or button-up shirts?
Vanessa, it's easy to sew and forget to wear garments. I have limited occasions to wear them, but I will make the effort to dress up even while home to enjoy my work.

Wear your dresses lady, I wear my stuff fresh off the machine, I find somewhere to go…I would drive to my sisters’ just to wear my makes & show off…..😂😂 lol petty I know. Carolyn, no, I do not. I have only lined the two linen dresses in this video. The fabric was too transparent for a skirt, and the lining helped with the structure of the garment. That would be too much work for me.
I’m going on a diet so I can get all the dresses😂😂
