I don't think Brisbane dwelling median is 695k. According to Corelogic Brisbane median dwelling is higher than Melbourne

In Brisbane you need at least $900k to buy anything

That's because the "dwellings price" includes apartments & Melbourne has alot more apartments compared to Brisbane bringing down the overall price (basically many more one bedders in Melbourne)... when you're talking about buying houses only you still need at least a mill in Melbourne & it's more like 1.3-1.5m for eastern Melbourne (believe me, I wish it were cheaper!)

      Melbourne median dwelling $ 778.941
      Brisbane median dwelling $ 805,593
      Melbourne median house $ 942,779
      Brisbane median house $ 899,474
Brisbane house is not much cheaper than Melbourne now. 😮

Perth still straight fire 🔥 but risky as most places are 600 k plus

QLD land tax changes now effective! This should chase out a few investors and let property return to its intended purpose: homes. With the Fed Gov to pocket $2 billion by wiping national investor concessions, and redirect it into fixing the housing shortage, these should be next.

Hi, just curious how recent this data is and where this data comes from as Sydney median house price is $1.6m and median income is at $95K? Brisbane's median is at $900K and Perth at $770,000
    Many thanks

Very incorrect data with the median house prices you have listed. Sydney is around $1.6Mil, Brisbane 800K, Perth 700K and so forth

Hey Julian. It says it's a snapshot of December 2023. Would it be still relevant now? Isn't the data pretty dynamic?

This video was filmed just before the next data update, before releasing the video we checked with the most recent data update (last week) and it still held true. The assumptions made in this video aren't factors that will drastically change over a month or two.
