Just found your channel yesterday and I'm so happy to have a lot to watch! I love the calm character you have, and the courage not to build drama where there is none. Keep it up!
@@Fernwee just compared to the effort you need to put in in those rides, you always seem to be so positive, other youtubers would repeat how much they're suffering and how bad they want to scratch. I noticed this the most in the badlands competition
Another epic ride. You have great strength and determination! Plus, some fantastic scenery that you shot there. Those climbs looked tough with rocky, gnarly terrain more suited to MTBing. Everyone did a great job of attempting the route and finishing!
#WhereIsMike#MIKEThisIsYourRide ... Everyone rides downhill with stopping back wheel ... Really epic video ... So beautiful landscape and interesting roads for an gravel ride ... But everyone seems to enjoy it ... so it seems to be great fun ... Did you change your pressure during the race? Does your foam in the tires helps you to survive on these tracks? Well done and congrats to the 🥇 ...

Hey, i might have found one of the last ‘small’ focus Atlas 6.8 available Europe at the moment. But hesitating a little.. can u help me pull the trigger? :D (i have an option on a Rose backroad Ultegra di2 as well). What do you think about boost spacing? I can’t find many wheels for these dimensions inkind of want another set of lighter wheels. Also is it a big difference climbing with this bikes weight compared to for example the little lighter focus mares? Thx!!
Heyo, you must make one hell of a detective! Boost is fine, DT-Swiss makes a nice range of Hybrid (HG) wheels that fit and are comparable to the their GR series. There's definitely a weight difference between the atlas and Mares, but for bikepacking etc I would definitely recommend the Atlas, sacrifice some speed for being able to go anywhere ;D
We drove to this event with the bikes in the back of our van, but sometimes we also fly and takes out bikes. Depends on the airline and trip how expensive that is...
@@Fernwee Maybe a video on the technicalities of getting from your home to the destination might be quite informative, especially when flying. One for next year perhaps.
I travelled with my bike a few times. I found that easy Jet offers the best rate for a bike case, almost the same price as a 23kg normal suitcase. The first time I rented a bike case from a local bike shop, but after that I bought my own one and it has paid off already. If you're planning on going for a long time, it's cheaper than renting. But if you're only planning on staying for a week, or if you're taking many airplanes for a trip with many stops, it might be cheaper to rent bike at your destination (if there is such option) 😊
@@eriwhere Yes, Easy Jet offer a good rate for carrying a bike. Try not to take Ryanair, if you can, if you want to take a bike as they charge £60 pounds, or 60 euros each way. I think they have a limit of 20 or so kg?
@@richardm9688 I've never tried to fly my bike with ryanair but tbh I try to avoid that airline in general. Two days ago I flew with Iberia. They also had a oddly low weight limit for carrying a bike - 23kg! My case alone weights around 12kg so there's not much weight left for the bike and other stuff... I know the airlines tell you to only pack the bike, but there's usually so much space left in the case that I like to put in some clothes and attach some bike bags to the frame... With Iberia if you're 1kg or more above the weight limit they charge a 60€ fee at the airport. You can use up to 32kg, but then you need to pay this fixed fee.. I really needed to bring some items so I decided I'd just have to pay it.. my case weighted around 28kg. But then the guy at the check-in counter was really nice and I didn't have to pay the overweight. Tbh I think they could just put bike weight limit at 32kg like easy Jet does. Or something more reasonable like 25-27kg. But 23 is just very little to be carrying a bike unless you pack it in a cardboard bike box.
Wait….so you won even when you need to stop from time to time for video shoots and drone shoots? 🤯 Anyway, apart from that, I love that everyone is so chill, everyone enjoy the journey, and cheer for those who won, what a great event!
what is the point to do this on a gravel bike? this is the perfect terrain for mountain bike, prefer full suspension... it will be the triple of the fun!
50 mm tires tubeless for this flat roads? Really guys? Except this one part with tree roots everything on the movie where easy for gravel bike. Love the views, love the movie, the scenery and everything but come on, nothing special here. Come to Poland for ultramaraton gravel race and you will see hardcore stuff 😂
Woot woot! Well done! Beautiful landscapes. Also, nice to see all the "normal" bikes like Kona Sutra, Rove etc
Stunning footage, well done for catching the good vibes ! Look how the word "beer" wakes him up at 14:13
Works every time

"Is it beer’o’clock?” 😂😂😂😂😂… loved the video, the landscaping, the views, and the first place award… 😎🤜🏽🤛🏽
Cycling video’s just can’t get any prettier than this. Excellent!

Super nice footage and lol: @14:13 - pretty burned up and tired, hears "It's time for a beer man.." => Vrooom!!, storms uphill 😎
One of my regrets is not factoring in a trip to Yosemite when I was in California. Gives me a reason to go back 😁 Great video as always.
Nice the track gravel in your country. Congratulation for the firts finished.
Fantastic video. You are doing such an nice work. Crazy riding and nice landscapes! Beers are fully deserved

Amazing hotel with great views & of course (again) a very cool video!
Again a very great scenery 🌞
i did the pass de soliel a few years ago, one thing that stays with me from that trip is the enormity of the mountains there.
Exactly!
I get jealous from those lovely drone shots and then all of a sudden I see the suffering happening from the onboard shots 😂
Haha yeah there's always two sides to a beautiful gravel ride ;)
What a amazing riding!! Cannot stop the video!
The two B’s ride I will call it. Beautiful & Brutal!!😂😉
That looks super fun! But super hard! Great video as ever.
Net op de planning gezet voor volgend jaar!
That's an epic ride..makes me want to buy a gravel bike now.🥰🤙🏼
Go for it!
That was absolutely brilliant.
What a beautiful place and a fantastic route!
Well done on the win! 💪💪🏁🏁
Epic views. Keep them coming!!!!!
Great vid and cool that you let us see that you are normal people and no unstoppable Gravel Heroes ;)
Wait, what? I AM an unstoppable gravel hero!
Very nice scenery, epic ride again 👍🏻
Stunning views!
Great video
Totally crazy! I thought it looked like fun until you had to walk sections - then I knew I could never do it.
Walking a bit is not so bad. It gets you to amazing places.
Does anyone know what the shoulder bag is? Looks great!
hello great movie👍 and beautiful views, and I have a question what pedals do you use in gravel 🤔thanks and best regards❤👋🚲🌲
Cheap shimano spd ones
I hope Speedplay/wahoo bring out a double sided power meter pedal soon, would love to use it on this kind of routes...
Vet event!

Very nice 👍
Awesome ride! What handlebars are those? Pro discover medium?
Easton EC70 AX 🤙
How can you even race with views like that? I'd just be crawling along slowly enjoying what I see. :)

Was that one rider on a Cannondale Slate?
So whats the difference between a Mares AL and the Atlas. Just the wider tires?
Everything is different about it, the Mares is a race-bike, the atlas is a bikepacking bike!
Which tire insert did you use and how was it?
Vittoria MTB Airliner, very happy with it so far!
