One common pet peeve with international SEO is dealing with the nuances and complexities of implementing hreflang tags correctly. It can be challenging to ensure the tags are set up accurately for different language and country variations, leading to potential hreflang errors and issues with organic search visibility in global markets.
A soon to be launched website ( brand new domain). i have been working on the content and design. Ii have added noindex, nofollow and it’s equivalent robots.txt and meta tags and finally X-Robots-Tag as well. i Don't know why but i did verify my domain in search console+added Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. now my question is will November update or any google updates efect my website rankings in future when i Allow crawling/indexing?
I mention the core updates in most of the episodes, I thought I'd skip it this time for a change :). I imagine most people have already heard that it happened, if it's something they see for their site. Should we mention it? Let me know!
@@JohnMueller While you may assume that many people have already heard about the updates, it's essential to remember that not all viewers or listeners may have the same level of awareness. Providing information on core updates can be beneficial for those who may have missed the news or are looking for further insights. It's a balance between serving the needs of your audience and keeping them informed, so feel free to include mention of core updates if you believe it adds value to your content and subscribers.
Hi John, thank you for again a great video. The link for International SEO in the description is not working, maybe it is possible to update? Keep up the enthousiasm!
What was the reason for removing the cached pages? That was such a useful feature, because it made sure that you could read every page even if was removed since it was crawled by Google. The Internet Archive may not have crawled it at the same time.
Pssst - An insider told me it's rolling out to more domains & with a few more kinds of recommendations soon. But also, they only show if there's something we can flag for you, and not all sites have things like that.
Plase help me. My website traffic dropped after the August core update. I experienced a 90% drop. And my ranking dropped. Even though I fixed the instructions in the search console, my ranking is not going up....
How effective will the recommendations be? Are these just AI snippets which won't actually help that much or are they going to contain some real insights?
If you're an advanced SEO (and given you have "SEO" in your username, probably :-)), these will be more like reminders rather than secret tips. If you're not so advanced, I'm hoping they'll give you some things to try out or to look at. There's no magic trick that leads to #1 ranking, and even if there were, what use would it be to tell everyone about it? :-). What kind of things do you wish SC could have told you instead of you having to randomly notice?
@JohnMueller Hi John! I submitted a question via the SEO Office Hours question page back in August or September. It was the one about changing a website site name. I followed Martin's instructions from his video back in April - no change. It's still oddly showing our simple URL name instead of our business name. Well, hope you can address this frustrating problem. Many thanks for your response! The Office Hours videos are appreciated, and VERY helpful.

For sure automatic redirects by GEO IP, as well as by language of the device used.
Why did you destroy search?
Didn't talk about the November Core update?

@@JohnMueller I agree with yallibizappin's second comment. If possible, it would be helpful if you were to mention core updates.

What happened to your monthly English SEO Office Hours videos? They were excellent and very informative. Please bring it back.
Oh my, things have just been busy, I'll try to get the next ones lined up soon. Sorry! Any question that you submitted which I should dig out?
@@JohnMueller Its getting really hard to get the blogspot indexed.

@@AmanBamba that's unlikely, unfortunately there's so much low quality content out there.

Thank you for mentioning my article on international SEO!
Thank you for writing it & making it public!
Where can I find the community link to join?
I pick these up from things shared on social media & the various newsletters. It's hard to pick just a few.
Pls send me a link to your video on ( how to fix redirect error) for 10 days, non of my pages had been indexed due to redirect error

I already miss the cache capability!
The cache capability was removed for many web pages gradually over the past six months. I agree with you: I miss it very much!
