Quick video as I'm super busy at the moment, unboxing of a gla 98mm rtr that I purchased from ebay. Came with a lots of spares. Quick test run(not drifting) at the end. Next video gla vs bz3 and mini z.
Wow! Full set of GLA and goodies! What a great buy. That XRX servo is really good. I also have one. I'm really curious about the origin of this car. As far as I know those wheels are on sale almost exclusively in Asia.
it also has an xpower sensored brushless esc and motor(s). I purchased from a guy here in the uk and had it delivered within 2 days. It says almost ready to run on the box ,but that model usually comes with a cheaper gl racing speedo similar to the atomic one .steering was jamming on the servo head and limiting right turns so a bit of work was needed .
@@GarageMiniRCUK Jamming servo saver is a common problem of GLA. I read some people revert it back to standard servo horn. Xpower ESC is really nice too. Seems like you got an EU spec car. International spec will have non-sensored ESC. EU will come with Xpower sensored ESC and sensored motor. Really happy to see you get a GLA. I'm waiting to hear your opinion.
@@GarageMiniRCUK is it the GL brand or atomic? Anyways, thanks for the time answering my queries. Have a nice day or night (which ever) stay safe and more videos.
Nice, have you set up your web site for these 1/27th scale cars. I bought a Mini-Z 19 years ago but since then I have lost touch with the various improvements, brands, etc… I would like to find a comparison amongst AWD top of the range racing models with carbon fibre 98mm chassis and shaft transmission rather than belt. Are there any shops for these in Dubai, UAE ?
Yes. I have. The website is about the types of cars. The Gla is the best awd racer in my opinion. Please see my more recent reviews of it. Not sure about dubai
You hit the jackpot I just got finished putting together the GLR but I'm having a hard time getting it to work with my EX6R the steering is so sensitive after you get it going maybe you can share your setting again one heck of a deal
hi , I found the same issues with ex6 on asf. I reduced the steering speed in settings and steering return ,this made a difference ,I am using this as a drift car so it is a different set up. Although I ended up switching to my Nb4 radio and a genning servo due to the existing servo jamming . It handled fine with out any steering adjustments needed with the nb4 .
Great video. Just a quick question as i'm new to this, can you fit any gyro onto GLA for drifting?. I have GLA with DasMikro FUTABA S-FHSS receiver, Futaba T4PV transmitter but would like to know what gyro to get for drifting and how does it connect to the electronics i'm assuming it plugs into the receiver? thanks for your videos and advice, J
Hi, yes it plugs between servo and reciever. I have the onisiki gyro which is great. But if you have das micro reciever you might be better off with one thst has micro plugs. What servo you have?
That's a nice one. So it has a mini jst plug that's fits in your reciever. Most gyros come woth futaba style plugs... Except the atomic DRz gyro. That's a really good one and comes with the correct plugs. www.rcatomic.com/atomic/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_331&products_id=5938
Depends what shell you are putting on it. I bought a set of awd mini z wheels as it had an asortment off offsets. I'm running wide 3 offset at rear and 1 narrow. For stability wider is better, but depends on shell. Too wide and it won't fit some mini z shells. You can get spacers to increase off set too. First decide what shell you want. It's lexan then I'll play around wirh a set up today.
@@GarageMiniRCUK yea I was planning on getting that . but they were all out of stock in all the shops in France. All good . I got Some F2 , F3 ,R0 ,R1 . to start here off Got a McLaren 12C GT3 that I need to paint. 5250Kv & a couple of lipo's . can't wait . hopefully it won't be to long

@@esmokebaby th-cam.com/video/-gCJEXXWBEo/w-d-xo.html Watch this video by beaver hobby channel. It'll help, he has put quite a few different shells on his wl toys k989. Ebay is pretty good in US if you search kyosho mini z. I've picked up some used bargain shells. Also remember if it's a rwd mini z shell the wheels won't fit wl. Only the awd mini z shell wheels fit and even then you want zero offset as wl k989 is a wide chasis. So the 98mm subaru shell is no good as its not wide enough for k989.
What a deal! All those upgrades and extras! Guy sold his whole kit!
Yes, although there was a sterrign issue with the car. But I fixed it after much work and a few tweaks . Runs great.
Woooohoooo! Now this is exciting, can’t wait to see what you make of this car :)
