Great to see you guys enjoy Atacama! About the restrictions and fees in each touristic place, they are there for maintenance of the sites and safety of the visitor (almost every national park in the country works the same). Hope you guys can go to the south and visit the chilean Patagonia, it is a place from another world! Enjoy your South America trip 🙌
More like every single inch of land in Chile is owned by the filthy rich. There is absolutely no place in Chile that is not surrounded by fences because someone claimed it and will eventually charge money to step on it.
Really enjoying this series of videos. Some amazing scenery. I liked the bit where you talked about the stars from different angles - laying on the road etc. Good fun. Looking forward to the next one. 👍
we just returned from San Pedro de Atacama. We did 3 Tours, including an all day one to Lakes 1, 2, 3 (salt flats) at 4200 m. the guide trips we Took were Limited to about 8 people and the guides were good and entusiastic. Most speak spanish, portuguese, and English. While the Tours are expensive you will learn a lot about indigeneous culture and the natural history of the area - so that in my opinion was important to better appreciate this unique natural area. Fun fact: San Pedro is considered an oasis in the alto plano since the Incas and original natives brought water from the Andes to the Valley. Also, San Pedro is largely built on the Burial ground of the indigeneous people so there are rules enforced by the poliica (who don't have much to do) to respect dead - meaning no street dancing, esp. for gringos, in the evening.
Thank you so much, we are glad you enjoyed it :) Oh wow that's so cool, unfortunately, this was our only spot in Chile on this trip, but any recommendations we would love to go back at some point!
You forgot the most important feature: Volcanoes. The subduction occurring under Chile has given birth to this region and the land forms in this plateau. Alas, within 10 seconds I had to switch off your video. You didn't research well.
Región de Atacama is the richest and most expensive region in Chile. Just to get an idea, it's GDP per capita is 70k USD/year, just about the same as Denmark's. That's why it's so expensive
You didn’t visit the driest part of Atacama. In San Pedro rains every year, in summer. You went to a very beautiful touristic area at the foothills of the Andes.
Seeing foreigners here will forever be amazing I love how appreciative you are despite the harsh climates

Amazing content! Been in the area in 2019. Also lived half my life in Chile, are you planning on going to the south?

exciting! ❤
It rained last year and flooded the city.
Where did you rent your car? I need an automatic 4x4 4wd :)
Wouldn’t be surprised if they make artificial rain like other countries
That’s a good point would be useful to do that here!
Cloud seeding only work in certain weather condition. Dry places are not possible.
Fun fact 6:14 were acrually vicuñas
question time : do you hv to pay corruption money from bolivia border to Chile? (From uyuni)
We had to 15 bolivianos to exit Bolivia yes.
That'ts a Vicuña , no es una llama ni un guanaco.

Your Spanish IS SO BAD THAT IT’S very funny …. 😂😂😂😂😍😍😍😍 actually 😅
15 buck is steep for a 3rd world.

@@elpantruca9777 cool thank you for the reply i didn't know this
More like 2nd world developing. The major cities of Chile resemble 1st world countries.

Awesome!
Seems to me you’re not very good at dancing. Practice makes perfect. Appreciate the journey. Not about the destination.
El desierto de Atacama pertenece a Bolivia, no a Chile, por historia nos arrebataron ese territorio, pero no la idea de que aún es nuestro
Más bien por perder la guerra 😅
