Lovely video. Thanks for the measurements and info in the description! Also, love the hand grinder. Speaking of grounds, my wife and I have a clause in our prenup that states any vertical videos either of us shoot on our phone is grounds for divorce.
Possibly a silly question... is the brew time measured after all of the water has heen added - 300g in this case? Should the entire process take 3:30 to 4:00 - or just after 300g of water has been added? Thanks for the video and info!!
Hey, i am doing a 1:16,66 Ratio with regular Chemex paper. Grindsize depends on your dose: 18 Grams are more medium fine, 36 Grams more medium / medium-coarse. Try to aim for 3-5mins extractiontime :).
It's not going through the filter when poured out, ha ha ha... come on dude, educated yourself! Chemex has a pouring channel. Water doesn't touch the filter when pouring.
It should be round about 60% and in the end I am aiming for almost 4mins to get all these flavors through the filter. Maybe you pouring too fast or the grounds are too coarse 😊
He wouldn’t be upset, he’d just be disappointed. Guy kept disturbing his coffee while it was steeping. Would still end up with quite good coffee though, but in the British sense of the phrase.
Thanks! :) Yes, you can use the same method. You probably need to grind a little more coarser to prevent bitterness at the end. But if you aim for ≈4mins you are on a good way! Greetings

Yes, 3 min to 4min brewtime should be good with 18 grams.
ok just to understand what you are doing.. 1:18. regular Chemex paper...medium grind not medium -coarse? Sounds great. Am I on the right track?

What always gets me is , rinsing the filter , then pouring that same water back through the filter to the sink?
It’s dumb
@@TheDennzioit’s not dumb, but you are. Chemex give the coffee a bad taste if you don’t rinse them.

Was 3 minutes too short?
Its on the shorter edge, yeah. I am trying to reach 3.5 - 4.5 mins :)
@@TheBaristaGame after you adjusted it, did ya get more of the taste you wanted? im trying to adjust as well
Dex Ezekiel yes, try it out! Through the little shaking the coffeebeans are all the time in contact with the water. I use this method every day! ☺️
How much water was pour after the bloom? Seems like a lot more than 60%? I can’t get my brew time past 3min using 18grams/300ml

If James saw this he’s be so upset.
probably lol. what a foolish old me!

@@DarkEnigma1115 😂 get James in here to judge me please
Lovely video thank you 😊
Can we use the same technic with more coffee?
Thanks! :)

what grinder was that?
The „budget“ version of the Hario Skerton. But I would recommend the Porlex Tall for beginners.
It’s ridiculous how this method has you make a little divot with your finger and then you swirl the carafe to flatten the bed of coffee again. Why?
Educate yourself on blooming.
Nice nice
How many grams of coffee was this?
18 grams😊
@@TheBaristaGame Thanks, I tried your method, or James' method, and it was very tasty :)
@@jacksonalley2787 Nice ! Yeah, the method gets everything out of the coffeebean :)
Why vertical? Why?
It's content made for IG TV, sorry buddy :-D
Measurements?
18 grams medium grind - 53 grs of hot water for blooming - then add water till you reach 300 grs :)
Measurements in ounces?
Love it
Thank you. :)
