@@jf4272 yeah it’s New York but smaller, more convenient, and more affordable. Honestly, Chicago is like New York’s little brother. Very similar architecture. Also, Chicago is built on a grid so everything runs east-west/north-south. Very easy to navigate. CTA is very good too. Come visit!!!
What about the women out there as far as diversity, looks, and attitude. Is it a good selection. I aint never been up north or east coast only LA, Dallas, & a couple more. Always wanted to know if girls in chicago can compare or if i would find some that strike my interest.
@@jf4272 Man, Chicago women are a different breed. Sorry for the cliche lmao. Seriously though, it’s a big ass city so they’re competitive. Some are feisty, some act way to boujee, but they all got one thing in common, they love MEAT. As far as sundress season goes (summer) pffft. They’re more than ready to ditch their winter clothes and pop out with all ASS. It’s showtime in Chicago right now!
I’ve lived here for 40 years. I’ve seen thousands of videos of our city/skyline, but this one was spectacular. You just made me fall back in love with my city!! Especially right now in the turmoil it’s in. The city and architecture has not changed. The people might have, but the city has only gotten more spectacular. Thank you!!

I live in Milwaukee which is Illinois neighbor ❤ I'll never forget when my dad took my brother and I to the sears tower which is now known as the Willis tower back in 2002. Last I was in Chicago was summer of 2015 when my cousin and I went to Wrigley Field to see AC/DC. Illinois in general is a fun state, I briefly lived in Zion and enjoyed going to Waukegan.

Impressive city. The BEST architecture in the world. The birthplace of the skyscrapers (William LeBaron). In my opinion the best skyline in the world (Only New York can challenge Chicago in that)
I give New York City over Chicago only because of the diversity. I think I do however, like Chicago's skyline over just manhattan's skyline though.

I spent 4 years in Iowa for college and Chicago is the city where I had to take the flight every time. Tbh I have a mixed feelings for this city. The downtown area is so beautiful but when you are far from the center area, sometimes it will be dangerous. I can’t never forget the cold wind of Chicago lol.
Not sure where you went but the majority of the literally 77 neighborhoods are safe, about 8 or so are sketchy

and some people argue Manhattan has better skyline than Chicago's lmao. Chicago's skyline is truly and undoubtedly the most beautiful one in America
Most people choose NY because of the sheer volume. NY has thousands more mid and high-rises than Chicago and has now even surpassed Chicago's former height advantage. NY is up to nearly 20 supertalls to Chicago's 7. Chicago fell off with the current corruption of the planning and approval process where anti-height alderman and community groups reduce buildings by hundreds of feet and decrease density to dictate every aspect of growth . There's no comparison. Chicago still has dozens of surface lots, fields and low-rises in the core and reject or downsize proposals simply because the neighborhood doesn't want new buildings and people in their streets. Chicago pre 2008 recession was a beast that approved everything and let developers shape the city. 1,000' + proposals were common back then. Now Obama's Library gets held up for years with lawsuits and resident demands. Trying to build a high-rise in most areas is next to impossible.
@@stitch6157 Volume doesn't compare to neatness. Chicago's skyline was built by an artist, New York's by a kindergartner.
@@thebabbler8867 I understand your point but NY is building towers with innovative structural design. Also towers that utilize terra-cotta, limestone, real brick, copper, bronze, etc. Chicago has fallen off the map with natural materials or intersting structures. Glass boxes/slabs, concrete, aluminum fins and podiums make up the majority of buildingsin Chicago today.
Also density/volume does add value, there's still too many gaps and blatant under-utilization on lots that deserve iconic towers. Chicago developers don't dream big anymore or innovate. The 'make no small plans' mantra has left the city long ago.
@@stitch6157 it's not always about volumn or height I love nyc but Chicago just has perfect balance and symmetry. I think those super skinny supertalls in NYC are kind of ugly. Chicago here we still build big as in height and cubic feet. We have a huge building boom going on right now with unbelievably massive mega projects. NYC can really only build upward at this point. That's the thing Chicago is no where close to running out of space it's still a city in the making, much younger than NYC.
@@Jeschitown Chicago's buildings are uninspired today. The original proposal for the former spire site was worthy of Chicago's architectual legacy. Chicago windows, Art-Deco set-backs, terra-cotta and a distinctive crown was a perfect homage to Chicago's past. Blue boxes with aluminum accents and squat massings aren't winning any awards for originality or creative vision. Chicago's community outreach/feedback sessions where developers are forced to reduce height and desnity to appease NIMBY's has been detrimental to our built envrionment. I'm not a fan of mega-projects where instant downtowns are built with a singular vision and contrived programming. They are suburban towers-in-a-park developments that promote way too much park/open space and lack urban form.

The footage here is relatively old. I was hoping for a current video after the pandemic vids.....Hyde Park needs to be included in these videos. It has a notable skyline with far and away the most expressive modern architecture going up in the city alongside renowned classical structures. Not to menion the University of Chicago is undeniably stunning. The 53rd St. Corridor, Midway Plaisance, Museum of Science and Industry and the new progressive high-rises would all make for fantastic visuals. Fulton Market is becoming an established district as well that would help make these videos more diverse and capture lesser chronicled areas of Chicago.

@@brucebeamon5460 Perhaps you should READ my words where I have complimented the man's AMAZING work multiple times. What I conveyed is the idea that showing more layers of Chicago's beautiful environment would make these videos more dynamic and textured with the different urban forms. This would showcase areas of the city that are mostly undocumented to outsiders as the downtown and Northside are well chronicled. It's exposure for two of the city's most desirable locations.

You know I love your work, my drone brother... but this getting up before dawn crap has got to stop! You're killing me thinking about being out of bed and out there ready to launch before the sun comes up... especially in the summer! I spent many of my younger years in the Chicago area, so you always get bonus points for your Chicago videos, though!
That said, on a related note, please tell me that you don't shoot all this footage in a single day. Just driving around from launch point to launch point would kill a bunch of time. (Not to mention that you would need an entire bandolier of batteries!)
thanks :) This took 2separate days to capture... But all other Cities filmed the same way are done during one day... Chicago is too big to move around that quickly but every other Cities including LA are totally fine for that... Regarding batteries I have 5of them and I'm keep charging them in my car all the time...
@@TAPPChannel Of course, then there's Dallas where it takes 4 hours to go about 6 blocks.
I have 4 batteries for my M2P but I haven't used the car charger yet. Not even sure if it works properly. Haven't investigated enough.
This monster project that I'm just finishing up now had me do about 4 different days of shooting around Omaha but that's because I was doing something new and different than what we are all used to. #soon Most of my other stuff (e.g. Galveston, etc.) usually only takes me one and the 4 batteries. But now I'm getting spoiled and want to include more shot variety so I may have to order more batteries (and a bandolier!) or start using the car charger.

How were you legally able to do this? I've been stopped multiple times trying to fly my drone in the downtown area
