This is a new version, we can only guess if it still has this issue. Ziga said in the comments they improved the gas system but he didn't say how exactly.
Its a diffrent type of recoil sensation. On pistols with a regular slide the recoil is more of a flip beacuse of the slide mass and high bre axis but in the alien the recoil is more straight back than flippy beacuse of its low bore axis . So its a trade of being snappy but not flipping or flipping but not being snappy.
You mentioned a "more economical" version after this one's initial production run, my guess is they plan on releasing a polymer frame version of it. Very exciting!
For the price they should include a stubby grip module and magazine if the gun is really intended for concealed carry. Something along the lines of a G19 or slightly shorter.
If you think $6k is expensive, look at any nice 2011, in similar price range. Alien is really cool with its piston operation and low bore height. I wish I could afford one...
This is almost John Browning Ma Duece type level of design and engineering. I dig it! If I ever discover a long lost billionaire uncle passed away, I won the pick 3, or any Zimbabwean princes e-mail me then I will definitely get one.
I can appreciate the R&D and all the technology that went into this. I wouldn't buy one if i could afford it because custom 2011s exist. But to each their own. If you can swing it, bring it.
Love the racking mechanic to just fix a potential issue 100%, the safety in connection with a fitting holster extremely safe. Are all the mags safe to not over insert? What does it weigh? Barrel length? Will be sold out in no time.
My only gripe is the short barrel length Especially in a carry pistol you definitely have to be more aware of your ammunition choices for reliable hollow point use and expansion That and I’d prefer a threaded barrel or porting
When i climbed to that balcony and looked down i asked them 5 times if we can really drop it. Also i was certain that something will break because there is solid concrete at the bottom
I love the innovation, really I do. That price is insane, but I understand the reasoning. Hopefully this will be the next step in firearms manufacturing and the cost can come down and features stay relatively the same. You Europeans are really are offering the best guns around.
That loading system on top of the gun looks very good and intuitive upgrade. All on Remus looks really good for high end gun. Price tags are too much for me. Same price here in Finland you can get a new really top notch ATV.
Thier unique machining is very appealing, i thought the other Aliens couldn't be topped but this is just crazy cool. Of course it's a wet dream for most including me but i respect it more than a blinged out Infinity. 😎🤟👊
The Alien was always a very cool project for testing new designs 👍 It would be better with a manual ambi safety on the frame, like 1911s, if mechanical possible and I would also push forward the slide release, to not touching it with point of the thumb, while slide is cycling (medium hands), like 1911s. Gas operation on a pistol, I am a little bit skeptical, maybe it would be better with a locking block, like 92FS / strike one to avoid tilting barrels that are medieval, especially for suppressors. 🇮🇹
Will you create a top rail with the PTR function for our existing Creator and full size pistols? Not being able to rack the slide as easy on my Creator makes me still not use it as much or trust it for competitions where its legal.
The second edition will sell for $5500, not $6000, so there's that. There is nothing this $6000 gun brings to the table. Maybe for $2000, it might be worth it, but other guns put rounds downrange just fine.
wonder if this trigger still overheats like the original. if it ever makes it to mass production and the price goes down it would be worth a try but until then ill just admire from a far. glad to see czechs still love guns
i get the price for what it is. But i still think they should make a polymer frame version with a few less bells and whistles and sell it at under 2k. The extra sales would subsidize their business and allow for a reduction in cost of their other products. Or allow for a wider range of products.
Looks cool, but I have seen several videos lately on the original alien pistol having problems and laugo arms blowing off the customer. For the price these sell for, they better have top-notch customer service when there is an issue.
Absolutely love it, but would never carry a pistol that cost more than my car. Then if I ever had to use it the police would confiscate it for an unknown length of time.
If i heard correctly they will make a left handed version The issue with such low bore axis is not just controls but your support hand blocking the ejection port
@PolenarTactical Thank you for the information I appreciate it. I have a gen 1 Alien and I have lowered my support hand position on the frame to deal with the ejection of brass on the right side of the frame.
haven't we already figured out that shorter grip prints less... I prefer teh 12-13 round magazine size grip for CCW... I do like the external safety even if a lot of people don't. Would be nice if they could up production and bring the price down.
