I was kinda hoping you would consider putting the climbing iceberg roses in the south garden on the tunnel trellis they are so pretty.

@00:51 > OR Relocate ....the 'White' Climbing Roses > along the Black Fence..... out in the Orchard.....behind your garden potting shed.

I would have put them in between the newly planted trees in the new new property. They would quickly become large shrubs that would offer considerable privacy

All good ideas... but they would probably be impossible to dig out!!
Girl!! That was a lot of transplanting!
Maybe a path thur the grass to the boxwood opening into Versailles??? As long as Pedro is already there!😊

I feel the same! I moved a lot of my "rookie mistakes" to better locations this week, and ended up just getting rid of two that weren't working and not looking so healthy. I had a little stomach ache over it, but in the end, what a relief.

I moved 14 hybrid tea roses in Oct in zone 6 and did exactly what Laura did and they all survived...cutting back and root fertilizer is key.

Hi Laura, So much fun seeing you save your plants. I know how expensive they can be. Just wondering if you could save those climbing roses and plant them in the extra property and train them to grow on the fence. It would make a great privacy feature to add there and the way they grow, they would look beautiful in no time. That way, you wouldn’t have to throw them away. Just an idea.

I’m going to look back on this first year of gardening and be a little wistful about experiencing it as Laura and Aaron’s secret shadow. I’m in zone 8 PNW and our frost dates are so similar it’s been like getting instructions just when I need them. My Tranquility rose is on a 5’ trellis and is shooting up above it, though it was cut back to 1’ and transplanted this spring. “Living its’ best life” as Laura would say. Thank you for a wonderful intro to gardening…to all of you in this community.

Dear Lauren, I love watching you garden. I love listening to you, I'm a gardener myself. As you know, I've been watching you for years and years now from the beginning of your house from the townhouse. I love your family. It's like you're part of my family although we're so far away. Especially now I'm going through very hard times watching my sister dying of cancer. I haven't done very much gardening this year. But when I go to bed. I listen to you and you bring out my spirits up, thank you.🎉 Love Marg ❤❤❤🎉

You have the space to transplant them. Even on the new property. You could save them.

Oh Laura, you stopped to smell the roses just a little bit into the sped-up part...I lost it, totally lost it. You brought back a precious, beautiful set of memories of me and my Granny, my Mom's Mom, whom I used to spend at least one weekend a month with to help her with her yard upkeep and gorgeous flower beds. She was a widow and she and I spent hours and hours together, I was the first grandchild, which gave me oodles of time with her. She was known throughout Hillsboro, a suburb west of Portland, for her Roses 🌹 God bless you!!!

I take such inspiration from the notion of just moving things when the time comes to move them, when something isn't working anymore! I've saved the cottage garden along the fence beside the chicken coop video as a reference. In this video, it got removed, split up, and replanted. And, of course, I've seen this many times before -- but it just reminds me to go ahead and go for it. Plant what I think will work now, and if it doesn't work, I can just sort it out later!

The pallet walkway area reminded me of what that area looked like when you first moved in. Wow! How far it has come! Would you consider doing a video showing how some of the beds have transformed over the years? ( the misaligned arbor of trees where the pallet walkway is now, the original broken pond area, the old viney arbor framed by lollipops, the original hedge from the kitchen to the fireplace patio, the front& back of the coop, and wasn't there another little shed?) Your progress is amazing! Thank you for letting us live vicariously.😊

Wearing my new Garden Answer shirt this morning, having coffee and watching my favorite TH-cam channel. It's going to be a great day! Those roses are so pretty. Samantha's adorable! Thanks for all you share with us.

Awesome work. Your rose care in transplanting is spot on. It will be fun to see them next summer.

Exciting to see the sod being removed and looking forward to seeing the finished product. My mom - a master gardener in Pennsylvania - always says, "if you are still mowing grass, you haven't planted enough flowers." ;-)

I love and grow roses ,but living in Georgia with such high humidity all summer it's a challenge to keep down the mold and mildew that attacks roses. This year I didn't have a problem. I kept every bit of debris out from under them, watered from below, they got rose food once a month,a water solvable fertilizer once a week. I sprayed once with the three in one neem oil. I even removed all the mulch, for under it where it stays wet, I noticed a white mold growing. I do weed around them when I cut grass, ans remove all grass clippings. To make it look nicer,I put down black potting soil. So far this has worked. My neighbor lost everything around the front of his home to some kind of a powdery mildew. All the box woods, roses and hydrangeas are covered. I just didn't know what to tell him except remove everything , for it's too far gone to save, and burn it all. This stuff is airborne, an I'm praying it doesn't spread everywhere around us. He told me I could have a hydrangea volunteer that came up, I told him no thanks, didn't want to contaminate any of my plants, for whatever it is,it's attacking all plants.

Hi Laura, Please tell me that you saved all of those roses, even the climbing roses, and transplanted them all to a different location. You even have an arbor out front to transplant them to where they can climb up something. They're beautiful!

Looks like Samantha needs a hopscotch mama… That would be a game the two of you can play together. She really enjoys her life. God bless you all.

Great video! (And those John Paul II blooms might convince me to plant hybrid teas 😍) It makes me feel confident in my choice to do a lot of transplanting this week.
I understand the feeling that you worked hard and didn't get as much done as it felt. Digging plants out is triple the work of putting them in! So whatever plants got put in the ground, mentally quadruple that effort 😊

Another amazing video. I would love to see Laura’s mom walk through the garden with advise of what could be different or changes she would make? Or a shopping video.

Thanks for this video. Wow, that pathway will be gorgeous going from the house to the Hartley. That's what I love about all your pathways, never having to walk in dirt or mud soooo sweet indeed. So happy that you posted what gloves you were using been wanting some especially for dealing with the roses. Thank-you so much for posting those. Definitely will be looking for those to buy. 😊❤
Well God's blessings and thanks again always love seeing what your next projects are. 😊❤

I love the simplicity of your box hedging and the white begonias along your straight brick walkway. Do you have plans to plant out the space on the other side of the hedge or will you leave it as is? Thanks for being such an inspiration to us here in Australia. 🌷💚🇦🇺

You guys work so hard and it shows in the beauty of your gardens. I loved seeing the pallet walkway you built some time ago. We copied that in our yard and it’s been so nice. Thank for sharing your knowledge and gardening life with us.

You need to treat yourself to a root assasin shovel laura. I actyally got mine to get rid of roses that have gone rougue and reverted to the graft stock. But it is also great for moving larger roses you just need to allow for getting out a larger root ball.

I know you usually save plants, but I’m kind of surprised that you didn’t replant the iceberg roses on the new pasture property. You had mentioned planting roses in that area in the border. Your garden is so beautiful, know you are not a fan of your soil necessarily, but I’m so incredibly jealous of it. We live in San Antonio, our land is limestone. Like a slab. Maybe 2-3 inches of clay on top. My husband builds raised beds for everything! Enjoy your coo, we were 102 on the day we saw this! Thanks for your channel! Vicki😊🌸
