Thanks Roy, nice video, thought provoking.
Do you touchmark everything you make? Those beautiful roses for instance.
I just like to know how to remember how to use it every time. Lol. I always forget. Some of the work I'm not mad about haha
Could you use the engraved touchmark to create a raised one by hammering the engraved surface onto another blank touchmark stock that's hot? I was thinking about doing this for my touchmark, not sure how well it works.
I just asked the same question. I'm guessing Roy has tried this so hopefully he'll answer us!
Good info,.. I'm about to make a touch mark. Since it will be used on hot punch surface do you think Rockwell 55-60 is ok? I'm also using my alpha set to punch in the end of the touch mark. Got luck on that one since my initials are WA.
Your Brand is a good one that what I got
Roy, could you take your engraved stamp and use it on the end of a hot steel rod to create a positive image on the hot steel that once cooled could be used as a touchmark to embed the image in cold work? (I've re-written this question 3 times and I'm still not sure it is coming across correctly.) --Edit: I just realized that Terry asked the same question.
Yes that should work fine :-) God bless
Do you know of a laser engraver that makes touch marks?
