Hi. I started with a pair of 1205 for my home theater. Then I upgraded to a pair 1508’s and was very happy running a 7.4.4 system with 1508 and 1205. I now upgraded to a pair of 1510’s and now the 1205’s are about to be moved to a 2.2 listening room but I would rather use them for home theater. Will the airship work for the 1205’s to use as high level for left and right channels? Thank you.

I bought the unit and have one question regarding it: do you need to switch it off when you don't use it? Is this device of a 'always on' kind?

Thank you for reaching out. Due to the low power draw needs of the Airship II, we recommend keeping it powered on at all times. That being said, if needed it can be powered off when not in use and will restore it's pairing between the transmitter and receiver units when powered back on.

Is it possible to connect more than one subwoofer/receiver to one Airship II transmitter? If so, how many?

Thank you for reaching out. Each Airship transmitter unit is only capable of pairing with a single wireless receiver unit. Technically you can use RCA y-cables to connect from a single Airship receiver unit to multiple subwoofers, though this will result in each of these subwoofers receiving the same mono signal. If you wish to send wireless signal to multiple subwoofers then it will be best to use a dedicated Airship system for each subwoofer, which will allow each subwoofer receive independent signal.

You don't specifically mention the serie S S2 which I have, is that compatible with the Airship ll?

Thank you for reaching out. The Airship II wireless system can be used with any REL Subwoofer model that features RCA inputs, including the S/2. That being said, the Longbow wireless system was specifically designed for use with the S/2, since part of the wireless receiver circuitry was built-in to the subwoofer's amplifier panel which meant that you only needed to install an antenna onto a port on the amp panel.

@@RELAcoustics ah thank you for your advice. The antenna? Does this come with the longbow? EDIT; it's OK I searched the longbow manual 👍

@@camper234 Yes the Longbow system does come with an antenna that can be installed onto the S/2's amplifier panel.

Hello. Is the high level input cable a part of Airship or do you have to buy it separately?

    • @RELAcoustics

Thank you for reaching out. The Airship Wireless system does come supplied with a High Level cable, and also comes supplied with RCA cables for connecting from the wireless receiver unit into the subwoofer.

So the Airship 1 or 2 can turn my older R series Rel or any model/brand sub to become a wireless and accept high levels through the .1 LFE input?

    • @RELAcoustics
      @RELAcoustics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That is correct, the Airship and new Airship 2 are fully compatible with your older R series subwoofer.

@@RELAcoustics Perfect, I can repurpose for the centre speaker now in a 3D set up.

Great to see you pushing the boundaries as always! When will we see a video about the new reference line? 👀

if you make the signal wireless, why don’t you make it support digital in ?so the signal can skip the analog to digital processing. It will make the single less damaged and processing faster.

    • @RELAcoustics

Allowing for digital signal inputs would result in one less conversion stage, though there are not very many consumer grade audio products which have dedicated digital outs for the LFE channel, or any other individual speaker channel (front left and right, center, etc.). Using analog inputs on our wireless systems allows for easier connectivity to the majority of equipment.

Any chance for a trade-in/upgrade path for AirShip 1 owners?
