Couple of notes here. Like the breakdown. Needed the 315p, optional 100i (which has long distance capabilities further than other ships its size), Mustang Beta which said to have unprecedented range made for long duration flights, Ranger CV for those ground exploration has auxiliary fuel tank and spare .375 scu, Reliant Sen is the science exploration ship with long range capabilities even saying perfect for aspiring explorers and I believe that has a tractor beam on it like the 315p (Don't quote me on that) as well as a science exploration scanner suite, and on the larger side the Endeavor that can be fitted with modules to make it better for exploration like the Supercollider and Telescope Array. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day.
I'm really excited for the Zeus Clipper and my long term goal is the 600i. I'm a solo player, ROC mine for income, and soon to get a Prospector. I want to migrate to exploration in the future When Terra shows up
The Freelancers in general, and most importantly the DUR, need an internal redesign. Delete 2 of the cockpit seats and 2 of the bunks and use the saved space for some of those amenities that you mentioned. Oh and you passed over the original exploration ship, the Origin 315p!
It's OK. everyone forgets the 315p. Even CIG. They added tractor beams and forgot that the 315p had cargo space that the tractor beam should be able to load into. @@ZyvhurStudios
WHAT???? Thanks, Zyvhur, I have touted that the Odsysse will be my LAST ship I purchase from the GAME! As an Hgh Admiral since 2021, I have a great fleet, but my love is Space Exploration. Since the 1960s television series 'Lost in Space aired, the moment I saw Jupiter 2, I was hooked. A ship that has the ability to head out into the far reaches, and NOT have to return is the damned DREAM, Thanks Man.
Something I'm most interested in are the radar variations. For example the Zeus Mk II vs the 400i. The former has a medium radar while the latter has multiple small radars. How that effects your capabilities intrigues me the most when considering exploration game play.
I have a 600i Explorer which comes with a G12, a Carrack Expedition version which comes with an Ursa Rover and a C8X Pisces, and a Zeus MK2 ES. I like trading and medical gameplay so have a Galaxy with the med and cargo module. I have a Carrack partly because of the Odyssey's lack of cargo and like cargo running. I also have a Galaxy with a cargo module and medical module and am not giving it up because it's going to be one of only a few options for base building when the base building module comes out. I also have a Zeus MK2 MR because I know three friends and will be roll playing the bounty hunter clan.
The p-52 in the Aquila has made me question the Aquila altogether. Why put a snub fighter on a ship dependant on longevity and give it a ballistic weapon? I just don’t understand why this is a thing and why people aren’t talking about it. I’m probably resurrecting an old thread here but I just can’t see anyone talking about it.
The 400i is also very fast for it's size at 1250 m/s, that's small fighter speeds, while the others can't even break 1000 m/s, aside from the MSR. This is hugely important for survivability, especially in places like Pyro, ask me how I know:). I even use it as a drug runner during JT and have never been caught nor shot down doing so, but they sure tried, just couldn't effectively catch up. Her speed is one of the most impactful attributes that often goes unnoted. Another crucial aspect of the 400i as an explorer is her component redundancy. This will be far more relevant once the Resource Management system is in place(soon), with 3 power supplies and 3 coolers she can lose one, maybe even 2, and keep going, where most ships would be fully disabled. The other major exploring bonuses are the holo-table, built-in scanner array, huge fuel tanks, and temperature controlled rooms for housing the components, which I am also hoping serves well for storing any temperature sensitive goods. For now I just use it to pile up failed pirate bodies so they don't stink up the ship :D She's also maneuverable enough that I don't bother using gimbals for her nose guns, although not a fighter she can do surprisingly well in turn battles against heavy fighters and above, plus the 32 missiles aren't bad to have on hand. Your right she can land just about anywhere too, all kinds of weird places, no prob. Plus she's just a delight to fly, love this ship immensely. These are the reasons, many based on experience, that the 400i is my Explorer of choice. The Origin luxury is more of a bonus(Meridian paint a must for me), but even I'd still fly it if it were styled by Drake.
Great video. Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the exploration ships. Lots of great options so it makes it tough deciding which would work best for me.
600i, Odyssey and Carrack must have regeneration beds. Its plausible to assert they are the most important ships to have regeneration. You and your crew will be millions and or billions of km away from civilization. We seek to travel to the deepest darkest parts of the verse and to have a crew mate die and re-spawn back at home base days or weeks from the game loop is nonsensical.
Yes I think cig was worried about balance as some players were respawning infinitely but moving forward I think they will utilize a type of resource that needs to be placed in the med bed to regenerate and limited lives in death of a spaceman to prevent over use.
I got me the Zeus, well, when it´s coming out XD, but my go to would be the 600i as well. As you said it would be nice to have a hangar on that ship. I can understand the big windows and whide space with the touring model, but just scrap most of that for the exploration and give us a nice hangar ^^
Completely agree with you on the 600i, when it comes to solo or small crew gameplay it’s likely gonna be the best explorer. If I could only have one ship from this list though it would be a toss up between the 600 and the Corsair. I have a ccu for the 600 but I keep waiting to see if the Galaxy gets an exploration module before I decide on it.
@@johnokean8216 I don’t disagree, I should have phrased it a little better. If we are talking easiest to solo plus it’s capability to properly explore the Zeus ES will likely take that spot. But if I have at least 1 or 2 joining me then 600 would be my choice. (600i exp post rework that is)
@@johnokean8216 sounds like my type of exploration! To have a bar or to not have a bar? Plus those captains quarters 🥃 (yes it’s a game but immersion is what this game is about haha)
Zeus will be my go-to ship for sure. Everything else is just extra for me. 😅 For me, the MSR will always be a soft spot but she has become a Hanger Queen.
The Zeus really was the nail on the MSR for me, really like it but it just feels out of place in so many ways. Not enough shields or firepower for its size, no windows, and the never ending doors.
Enjoyed the video! Im looking forward to seeing how the bigger exploration ships are gonna pan out. My gamepledge right now is a Corsair, that i love but i wonder if ccuing up abit more to something like a 600i or Odessey would be a good move, especialy if the ingame prices for big ships are gonna grow alot in the future.

Do people consider ships like the 100 series and mustang beta to be exploration? I know the 100 series is called a tourer and the beta a pathfinder, but I feel like they do a lot of the same.
In the exploration space, is it reasonable to expect amphibious vehicles to explore the depths of those beautiful oceans we have seen from the air? I have not heard CIG speak of underwater gameplay so I do not even know if it is in scope.
ha last time i invite/ rescued a player on my ship he straight up went to the captain chair and ram my ship to the group. Not sure why as the ship are free insurance claim anyway. But that is the last time i let anyone on my ship.
