Thank you for this guide. I had my melee group getting hit and I got yelled at lol now I know to use my immunes accordingly or taunt with the knockback
a good thing to note about the apparatus is that the beam is removed with anything that stops slows, freedom, disengage when talented, spirit walk, etc
Good to note if you ever get double targetted and are in a pinch, just sucks that they'll instantly retarget another player instead of putting the beam on CD.
As far as i know, for the first boss, having 1, 2 or 3 puddles at the same spot does the exact same amount of damage, so mass dispel will probably always be better if you're looking for space or just to have people grouped up for healing (you have a Holy priest so being able to sanctuary/improved nova everyone whle running out is really an awesome addition for instance). Being spread has the advantage of having everyone doing his shit and not have to worry about the others, if they have some sort of personal/healing/jump to get out without stessing the healer. Also : please don't let your healer do the shackle on Khajin, he's gonna have a hard enough time as it is, even more so in tyranical. Just do it yourself, your GCD is not gonna hurt anything but a tiny amount of tank dps, and this fight is all about aoe healing. Your healer might not have time to do it, and even if he does, it'll remove a stressfull moment from him, which is a kind thing to do :D
Thanks Tacts for the informative video! i have a question, the boss/mob ability timer bars you have appearing.. what addon is that from? dbm or bigwigs?
Is there anything to be done about Refti Defender "Gushing Wound" dot? It shows in log under Avoidable Damage as a massive chunk as a tank. Got called out for it in a run but there isnt anything I notice I can do to avoid?
Yup, that's applied by their Spear Flurry ability, which is a short range frontal attack the mob does towards the tank. You can either step back or to the side after the cast starts to avoid the stacks!
No problem! Unfortunately the healer I play with doesn't actually stream or upload his gameplay, so your best option is probably one of the more popular M+ healer streamers like ellesmere, yumytv, thaner, etc.
hey tacks so for HOI last boss. i have conflicting methods. some grp say to stop all the channeling some said not to at all. now in this video yall perma cc 1 and kill 3 first and interrupt any cast on that 3 mobs as much? so my question is what is the right way? in a pug settings of cause. surprisingly i always feel that not interrupting their channels is just wrong but that had me timed the key instead lmao.
What's more likely to kill you in a PUG group is uncoordinated stops on the Inundates as opposed to a few extra stacks of the buff on the boss, so it's probably better to do them in pairs in that case. That's kind of the benefit of having Hard CC as well, as it allows you to stop the channel on the mob but not have to fight it yet, so it's like the best of both worlds. I'm sure as we get higher the play will probably be to divine toll from the centre of the room (prot pally only tech) and just instantly group them up that way in the centre and just chain AoE stops on the mobs, but again in PUG groups that could be unsafe if you miss one.
Hi Tactyks, thank you for this awesome guide. Could you please help with the name of the M+ timer addon that you are using, that shows an estimate timer to hit each boss of the dung, and so you can know if you are ahead of the timer or lagging behind? Thanks
If you look at the side of the mobs health bars I'm actually tracking their spell CD with a WeakAura, so I know when to add in the others. If you want the same WeakAura you can grab it here: wago.io/CooldownsOnNameplate
@@Tactyks I'm Just getting back into tanking after not really doing it since MoP. Have only watched a couple so far, but your videos are super helpful with great info! Thanks so much!
@@Fryzzi I believe misdirect only attributes threat that you make personally, so since so much of BM's damage comes from pets which don't help increase threat they opt to grab something else.
You literally fail to mention the tank mechanic on the frog boss, I just had 3 inept people run this dungeon down and wipe 2 times and cause the group to disband on this boss because they didnt want to listen to me say "tank needs to get eaten by gulp to not get Hangry" and they just linked this video over and over, and you do not mention it at all..... Please pin this post and reply so people notice this is a thing! or new tanks will wipe you in this key!
Sorry to hear that! Basic mechanics like that are covered in my regular dungeon guides, my advanced series assumes a baseline level of knowledge so I don't cover things like that otherwise the video length would be like double what it is now haha. Newer players should definitely check out those videos first to get a baseline understanding of all the mechanics!
@@Tactyks It is even covered in the dungeon journal under "tanks" I did try to show them this but there is no telling "pugs" they just passed the blame to me because "Huntard need to take adds in" but the real issue was the boss had 2 stacks of enrage (100% increased physical damage). I am not saying you are not doing a fantastic job and you are giving majority of players a guide to the dungeons, but some people in this community are straight up toxic idiots. Keep up the good work :)
Your guides are awesome! thank you for the tips on the last boss, good deep dive on the mechanics !
Happy to help, glad you found it useful!
again perfect timing, just prepping for my 20 Halls of Confusion run this evening :D thanks for the guide ;)
No problem, good luck with it tonight!

The taunt idea on the last boss knockback is exactly what I was looking for

Just in case you didnt know, the dragons ice frontal does lock onto the tank but it only has 15yards range - you can actually just outrange it
Yup that's a good tip for people looking to play them!
Thanks for the guide! Quick question, what WA do you use to track the bosses mechanics? for example 13:11 :) or is just dbm?
If you mean the bars on the screen that would be Bigwigs, but you can get DBM to do the same thing!
Good catch on the puddles, will test it out to make sure the damage doesn't get rolled into a single debuff but it's good to note!
Thanks Tacts for the informative video! i have a question, the boss/mob ability timer bars you have appearing.. what addon is that from? dbm or bigwigs?
No problem! That would be Littlewigs, the bigwigs dungeon equivalent.

on the last boss, how do you know when to interrupt that 3rd one to sync it up perfectly with the other two like that? sorry for the noob question

hi is ther anyway that we can get your weakaura?
All my UI WeakAuras are made by my co-tank Krll, so you can find them all on his profile:
wago.io/p/Krll
why are your Rogue and Hunter not MD'ing?
Or did I miss ALL of them?
You can see the tricks CD in the top left if you're interested (I don't believe BM hunter takes MD but could be mistaken)

Holy cow. Soothing the dragon hallway is going to change my mythic + life. Hate that hall
Yeah it's definitely a neat trick, not sure if it's going to be the most optimal thing in high keys but an interesting option for sure!
Could you make the route any more unbearable for Shadow Priests? 😅 This is even worse than playing a BH key as shadow.
I could try :P
