I love him too. He’s tough, but rightfully so. I dealt with a lot of stress and depression over the last few years and ended up gaining a lot of the weight I had fought so hard to get off and rewatching the show and really listening to him and his advice really helped me these past few months. Started changing my eating habits with smaller portions, no snacking and exercising whenever I can. Walking and indoor cycling. It’s rough on my knees but I made a couple signs to help with motivation. One says “the scale doesn’t lie! No snacking!” And “every mile and every step is progress!! You got this.” Down to 142lbs and got 20lbs more to go to get to a healthy weight. Sometimes I hear his voice in my head if I think about a snack and I stay away from the kitchen. 🤣

Medicaid cuts designed to see to it that people like this girl get cut off, end with some hard working single parent choosing between food and school supplies

Dr Now deserves so much respect. He says it like it is and he actually cares about his patients. Most people retire at his age but he is still going strong! I admire him alot for the work he does and for his honesty.
Not telling her no as a child was neglect. Not tell her no now is abuse. The person bringing her food wants her to be that size either because they want to be needed or because they want to see them suffer.
Imagine being a mama with a 750lb toddler! I would give her small portions of healthy food! What she gunna do...get up and make herself something else with a bigger portion? Definitely not! She will probably throw a tantrum. I would just shut the door and leave the house for a while!
My mom throws screaming tantrums like that at me whenever I've tried to help her in the past. She'd scream "Shut Up! Go to Hell!" if I dared even attempt to speak. It was a living hell to be anywhere near her.
What a giant baby!! As long as mum keeps making excuses for her, Margaret is not going to make any changes. She is yelling at her mother "come get me or I'll find my own way out".....how?!?! she can't even get out of bed! Throwing temper tantrums is going to get old for everyone in her life, if it hasn't already, and then she is going to be all on her own, with no ability to do anything for herself. How incredibly pathetic! And sad.
It really annoys me the way they just lye flat in the bed they don't even try to move when the dr walk in they look worse like real patients they need to try and move
She's in tremendous amount of pain.. physically, emotionally and spiritually. My heart hurts for her, and I'm sure if any one of us were in her shoes and lived her life from the beginning would act just as badly as she. It takes a tremendous amount of strength to pull yourself out of that hole shes in and I commend her for continuing to battle for better health and life. So much empathy for these peeps.
When I was in the hospital in the 90s my roommate weighed 600 lbs. She was there because the skin on her legs had split and was infected. She was in so much pain. Her doctor had put her on a diet. But her family would come in every night bringing a family-sized bucket of KFC, which she ate all by herself + a big brown paper grocery bag full of candy bars, snack cakes, & chips.
As a nurse, let me tell you it is INSANE how much food family members bring to patients. I’m not talking about getting someone a sandwich or soup or a *little* junk food every now and then. I mean some families set up a whole pantry’s worth of candy, fast food, sodas, energy drinks, potato chips. It’s almost like some people don’t know how to nurture their loved ones except through food.
@@catherinethorstenberg8957that’s insane, wasn’t there anything anyone could do to stop it. I get that hospital food isn’t the greatest but to actively harm the family member by bringing in such rubbish food so blatantly.
@@AndreaJones-eh3sd what can you do? It’s not a prison. We can ban visitors from the hospital if they’re posing a serious, direct threat to the patient, like smuggling in drugs (which of course I’ve seen a few times). But in cases where they’re bringing in fried chicken and ice cream to a diabetic patient with a stomach ulcer? It’s bad but not enough for us to restrict them. All we can do is lecture the patient about the doctor’s orders. Some doctors will read the patient the riot act, others will diplomatically say “you do you.” But at the end of the day, patients have to make their own choices
Exactly! She just wanted the free stomach surgery and have it be "a magic cure all" without having to do a single thing to keep it. Meanwhile, somebody who really wanted that spot for the surgery, who was willing to exercise and take the steps to actually change can't have it now, because the spot went to someone manipulative. That makes me so livid!
This will be an uphill battle. She clearly doesn't want to change. Like any addiction you have to WANT it. If you don't want to overcome your addiction, no amount of time, money, doctors, therapy ect. Will do any good.
Dr. Now is a saint! He is absolutely a saint! This woman is a Munchausen's case. She loves the hospital and being the center of attention and making people's lives revolve around her.
Cowardice is difficult for people to climb out of. For many healthy people instead of saying this is my fault or my shortcoming they blame others. She is no different than many abusers. She abuses herself, her support system and the system. Emotional maturity
Mom needs to explain that she is not going to be welcome in her home…PERIOD! Sounds like she is addicted to pain meds as well. Mom should be enjoying her life, not taking care of this ginormous baby
So what if she argues about not getting the food she wants - it's not like she's going to get up and chase you around the house.

Sounds like mom finally getting some peace with her daughter not home came to her senses. I particularly like the fact that mom said your choice is doctor now or a mental hospital.
The overeating is a symptom of her mental health issues, which aren’t going to go away just because she had surgery.
That’s why they pair it with psychotherapy
Overeating can also be a symptom of pure greediness
As someone who has had his surgery, who wasn’t half this big, you HAVE to see the therapist. It’s part of the whole process.
@mslisadianemorse I know someone who had the surgery & saw the therapist. They just told the therapist what they wanted to here. Ten years later, it's like the surgery wasn't even done.
Exactly I know someone just like this he is overweight and weighs 370 pounds and got approved for ozempic, he still eats nothing but junkie food daily big bag of hot Cheetos mountain dew soda McDonald's breakfast double sandwich pizza I e never seen one fruit or veggie he thinks the ozempic will do all of the work and he doesn't have to work on himself it's a whole lifestyle change that he clearly isn't ready for he just wants to lose the weight to prove a point to someone not to actually better himself oh and he smokes Alot and drinks Alot and does crack.
The mother needs to take responsibility as well. She enabled her to be like this because she liked her being dependent upon her. The two of them are quite a pair. Mom needs just as much therapy as the patient.
Dr. Now is a national treasure. He cares about his patients. This patient’s mother is a great parent too. This patient doesn’t even have a GED. She needs to get it together.
They should have signed her into a nursing home on medicaid, where staff control what does and doesnt come into the facility and what she does and doesnt eat.
She would be a 175 lbs lighter in a month!!!!
@@bordereau1 provided she doesn't get kicked out first due to her behavior.
I'm a home health aide and I've worked in nursing homes and I have multiple sclerosis and I've also been admitted to nursing homes. Nursing homes do not control what you eat you can order anything you want.
Right. Let the taxpayer fit the bill. Stop that shit.
But they don't control what comes in. Anybody in a nursing home can order delivery
What a great man. Kudos to mom for standing up, too
I love this man for how well he speaks to people. He is very inspiring. He understands that all people are human, and it is astonishing how many people lose the ability to process that.
Her BMI is significantly higher than my actual weight. 😮 I hope she actually takes Dr Now seriously and does the work to save her life. Anyone out there struggling, YOU ARE WORTH IT.
I’m an RN over 30 Years with these type of obese people I’ve seen : diabetes, hypertension, joint damage, horrible skin sores, cellulitis, respiratory failure, mobility issues, cardiovascular disease, just to name a few.
And the yeast
How can a bed bound person demand anything?
Sympathy
Exactly if they expect someone to clean their backside then they shouldn't be full of themselves. No decent person would behave like this.
Manipulation.... Enablers
If she's going to act like a spoiled 2-year-old brat, treat her like one. Leave her in her bedroom and shut the door, time out!! Her Mom needs to move asap!!!!
Right!! Because who are you getting an attitude with and want to argue? Just lay there. *Closed door.
Margaret really do acts like a child and not adult
Probably because she follows Steven Assanti that's why
@@enriquerodriguezjr1 What do you mean by that
@@johntaeowens1248 she probably watches his videos on TH-cam
These family members are complicit in this. They should have therapy to learn how to say no and mean it.
That's an excellent idea.❤
He often requires the enabler to go with them to therapy in a lot of episodes
@@C.L.190Not often enough 😬
I love Dr. Now! He speaks the truth!
@@DianaMaeBabyGirlGood for you and keep up the good work! I absolutely adore Sr. Now! He is such a good doctor and he doesn’t sugar coat it at all! He cracks me up sometimes 😂 I get so angry 😡 by the way some of his patients treat him, no respect act all when he is just trying to help them save their lives!
I got my mother hooked on the shows ❤ I have lost 13 pounds so far thanks to his food advice. I have his shirt, a signed copy of his book and a big magnet that says PIZZA IS NOT PART OF YOUR DIET. Pizza is my weakness 😢
Nowadays, he’s just hocking a book.
His harsh but he speaks the truth❤
Dr. Now is a true miracle
It infuriates me that a single tax dollar is wasted on people like this!
Yes exactly!!!!!!!
SAME!! She sure as heck isn’t paying a dime for any of this treatment. She has Dr. Now and countless nurses, physical therapists, etc trying to help her…and she’s taking it all for granted.
Yes those money needs to go to farmer subsidies! And the wall we need taller walls to keep those dirty wall climbing immigrants out and cut the irs staff too many trying to our money! Trump trump trump ! Vote for a true American and his hot wife who is a clean beautiful immigrant
Do you have children/plan on having ant?
I used to help facilitate ACA "Obamacare enrollments" and people like this girl piss me off to no end. There are millions of people in this country who need medicaid and other assistance and can't get it because people like this girl give people the impression everyone on the system is lazy. Medicaid cuts designed to see to it that people like this girl get cut off, end with some hard working single parent choosing between food and school supplies
I feel so sorry for that poor doctor. He genuinely wants to help these people, but they don't want to help themselves. It's a frustrating situation and a waste of medical resources.
If she throws a temper tantrum when not getting the food that she wants, LET HER. It's not like she's going to chase them around the house.
It makes me wonder how they can afford to pay for their groceries.
Taxpayers. Margaret is probably getting disability checks , medicaid and some food stamps?
Food stamps, disability
We pay for them through taxes......then people with real disabilities they were not responsible for struggle for help.
@@songbird967food stamps aren't that high... For One person with no kids, she'd get like maybe two hundred something MAX. If you watch the episode, her mom works like a workaholic since she was a kid so I'm sure mom is paying for them in this situation
@@C.L.190Do you know which season and episode this is from? I'd like to watch the entire episode. Tia
This episode is sooo hard to watch... A grown woman who cries CONSTANTLY like someone passed away, and needs her mommy 24/7 like a 4 year old.
“I’ll figure a way to get out if you don’t come get me”
Girl you don’t even wanna walk lmao
Imagine Dr. Now and Judge Judy teaming up to put you in your place 💀
And Gordon Ramsey...
Scary
1:35 Bruh, her stomach covers the entire hospital bed!! Do you know how crazy that is 😳
😂😂😂 I didn’t even see her 🤣that’s bad
I saw that too. Damn.
She's a human pancake.
James King flashbacks lol 😂
@@dappyfull She's a human pancake.
Here’s what she’s “willing” to do: lay there eating enough for a family of 5 waiting for some miracle to happen, waiting for magic to happen. It’s disgusting.
WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES !!
This docs had enough...
I can not believe she called her mamma to tattle like a child. Send her home and let her keep eating.
Dr Now is such a great man. I love him.
I really like this doctor he tells it how it is and that what people don’t like good on you doc
Dr Now deserves so much respect. He says it like it is and he actually cares about his patients. Most people retire at his age but he is still going strong! I admire him alot for the work he does and for his honesty.
She asks like a child ...
Yep whenever she can't have her way
Thanks!
Would love to know the outcome of Margaret's journey...
She is still the same. In bed, by mam, and eating.
😂 Her mom is sick of her.
She is an emotional toddler. She needs to hear a few harsh realities.
She’s asking her mother to come get her like she can just hop in the Lexus GS or something 😂 😆
Mind you, this is a 35 year old
@@ms.x1669 Even worse, good heavens I know food is good but damn.🤣
Not telling her no as a child was neglect. Not tell her no now is abuse. The person bringing her food wants her to be that size either because they want to be needed or because they want to see them suffer.
Dr. Now is kind, straight forward. Just kick her out. No drama. That hospital should change the name to Dr. St. Now.
Imagine being a mama with a 750lb toddler!
I would give her small portions of healthy food!
What she gunna do...get up and make herself something else with a bigger portion? Definitely not! She will probably throw a tantrum. I would just shut the door and leave the house for a while!
Me and you think a lot Alike!!😁
6:42 props to the mother for holding her child accountable! Everyone needs parents like this!
Dr. Now is so motivational ❤
She doesn’t want to talk then send her back home to fend for herself. Simple. Not the doctor’s or hospital’s problem
My mom throws screaming tantrums like that at me whenever I've tried to help her in the past. She'd scream "Shut Up! Go to Hell!" if I dared even attempt to speak. It was a living hell to be anywhere near her.
Im sorry. That must have been horrible. Have you researched narcissists. It might explain your mother
I’m so sorry that you’ve had to endure this mistreatment. You deserve so much more.
That’s awful, I’m sorry
Honestly just walk away and don't look back
@@janebaker4912 Yes, and my mom fits the profile to a T.
She doesn't want to live. Doctor is protecting his staff.
I would have told her she is not welcome back in the home.
Me too. I would have said you better take her big ass to a nursing home because she's not coming back to my home
Agreed
I agree 💯
He is 100% in the right!!
He is very very patient. I couldn't
I never realized how blinged out his stethoscope is
I think they're Pandora's!
Right on Doc. She either change or go home.
Then what happened?
Wow!!!
How much money does all this cost, and who’s paying it?? I know it’s not THEM.
We are.
Disability, medicaid, food stamps courtesy of the tax payers!
Medicaid and medicare. Being an unrepentant addict is apparently a disability now.
She's taking up the place in treatment that could go to someone who really wants to lose weight, she's just wasting everyones time.
Daughter calls:
Mom: I'm at a restaurant.
Daughter: come get me mom!
Mom: click.
This will be an uphill battle. She clearly doesn't want to change. Like any addiction you have to WANT it. If you don't want to overcome your addiction, no amount of time, money, doctors, therapy ect. Will do any good.
Food owns Margaret . She lives to eat . Defeating her own journey . Afraid to live. She is shameless and sad
No chance of wasting away...
What a kind, wonderful man!
Dr. Now is a saint! He is absolutely a saint!
This woman is a Munchausen's case. She loves the hospital and being the center of attention and making people's lives revolve around her.
When the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of the change, people change.
God Bless Dr. Now ❤️🙏
That Dr has the patience of a saint. What she’s not doing to help herself is so unfair to her mother.
I’m glad I looked her up and she’s still alive
I'm glad for you about the first half of this sentence 😂
I love Dr now he has devoted his life to helping people he is a beautiful sole
Cowardice is difficult for people to climb out of. For many healthy people instead of saying this is my fault or my shortcoming they blame others. She is no different than many abusers. She abuses herself, her support system and the system. Emotional maturity
Mom needs to explain that she is not going to be welcome in her home…PERIOD! Sounds like she is addicted to pain meds as well. Mom should be enjoying her life, not taking care of this ginormous baby
Pity there isn't people out there who will live with ppl like her and know the word NO and get her up and about and not fall for the victim BS
