awesome patterns! as a vote of confidence for everyone who's trying to up their game from beginner to intermediate, or intermediate to advanced, remember!!! half the time the difference between your skill level now and trying a more advanced pattern is time!! sometimes you just need to read the pattern all the way through and take it row by row and you'd be surprised how easy a harder pattern is. y'all got this!!!
I ended up making my first top without a pattern because nothing was quite what I wanted. I went slow and held up to myself as I made it and it turned out great! worst thing that can happen with crochet is you need to frog a project!
I have been seeing a ton of fairy core lately! I personally have been crocheting flowers like crazy and am constantly looking for cool flowers, or flower granny squares. In the end i hope to "freeform"a top with just random flower patterns, and have a flower granny square top to go with it! If you find any cool designs, feel free to show them too!
i believe jenna phipps has a video on this that seems very similar to your idea! maybe watch for inspo (if you haven’t already finished haha) because she’s great for that:DD
@@emma-iy5iy Don't worry, i watch every Jenna Phipps video! Love her, and the flower top she made. I have been making more complicated designs than she did... but it is surely inspirational!
This is funny to me because when I was a beginner these were the projects I would leap into! Now I I'm an expert and I just want to make the easy mindless stuff lol! Oh! for example: The Lotus Mandala Duster by Regina Weiss is actually one of the EASIEST projects I've ever done and I would recommend it to a beginner, but I avoided it for years because I assumed it was really advanced. And finally, as an expert, the hardest projects for me are floral blocks and mandala-style doilies. ♥
All my crochet history has been "eh, how hard can it be", but I've just finished the mosaic potholder you've shown and oh my! They weren't kidding about not beginner friendly. It was so hard!
I cant get enough of these cochet series! I love the starfish, but im too broke to buy patterns.. Ive tried the mandala dress and its easier than i expected.
i did similar stuff to these as a beginner but I used TH-cam videos to learn them instead of patterns which makes it so much less confusing. I only recently learned to read patterns after like 3 years of crocheting lol
I love tapestry crochet.. I have made alot of blankets. I've been crocheting for almost 40 yrs and I just learned to do it like 12 yrs ago and I was discouraged at 1st but I jumped into it and learned more about it as I made more. So don't give up on it. The finished project is amazing. Just start out small and you'll get it I'm sure cause you are very talented ❤
omg those granny square dinos look so cute! also, if anyone is looking for intermediate/advanced blankets to try out, i recommend anything by coastal crochet. I'm making their 'picnic on the beach' blanket rn and am on week 5 out of 8 (but i crochet rather quickly and its only taken 3 weeks). it's so intricate and involves so many different stitches and I'm having so much fun making it!
Hey! I did the pink granny square top as my 3rd project as a beginner 😅 because I was obsessed with it and I could not wait ! It turned out amazing, I looked at all the different stiches on youtube videos, I just did it too large for me because I am still bad at sizing 🤡 I will definitely do it again
hello ! I just wanted to thank you for your videos, I am learning and elevating my level in English and thanks for not talking too fast (and for all your patterns by the way).
You are the most organised and wonderful crochet content creator 🥰 Thank you, sweet girl ❤ p.s - your earrings really are beautiful 😻 Also… That praying mantis is EVERYTHING 🤩
filet crochet! it's like tapestry crochet but instead of multiple colours you have empty space and double crochet stitches to make patterns. i love doing it and recently i found this french filet crochet book series called le filet ancien and i'm really looking forward to making some eucharist cloths from the second edition from 1913
Some amazing designers with quite advanced designs are Crafty Intentions (Megan’s dragon designs are out of this world!) and The Twisted Hatter (Natalie’s hats are phenomenal). Thank you for this video - it’s great to see so many different ideas.
ngl i saw the spiral rainbow galaxy blanket in your thumbnail and bought the pattern before your video even premiered 😂 it's been on my todo list for ages and your thumbnail reminded me of how cool it is!
What's intermediate and what's advanced really depends on the person and their preferences. My first project was a lace choker with complicated stitches, I looked them up as I went and did pretty well on my second attempt (the first attempt was pretty but kind of not what I had been going for). Since then I always go to the more complicated things I can find, but I stayed away from some forms : tapestry, tried mosaic but it was hard, I've done some amigurumi but don't have the patience for it (even though I made myself some tops). The complicated and pretty stitches give me the endorphins to keep going but other people prefer huge amigurumi, because they're easier for them whereas they're not easier for me.
i made that spiderweb top a million years ago (a couple months), its so cute but there were some issues with the pattern :( i had to severely alter it edit: i also made that advanced granny square top!! it is my favorite thing i have ever crocheted
Loved the video! I'm starting the granny square top ! Personally I find colorwork (even just 3 colors) extremely difficult but can easily pump out something like the whispweave hexagon by the dozen lol.
oh. my. god. i recently looked to see if you could crochet a praying mantis and i didnt find anything until i watched this today. definitely found my next crochet project. ima start now HECK YEA TYSMMMMM love ur vids btww
U r spot on 🍓about what’s difficult🍓 I love to crochet but I don’t have patients for advance I stick to intermediate how about a tutorial on beginner advanced/ intermediate
I really appreciate these kinds of videos! I always see cool patterns on Pinterest but I'm never sure if I have the skills to make them, but this video and your beginner video really put into perspective the skill levels needed for different projects! thank you!!❤
Honestly i was shocked when you said that free form crochet is advanced because as begginer i don't find it hard and I found it was a useful learning experience as i learnt new stitches and how to do a magic circle
@@omazingpaigeoh that makes sense but once you know how to do that it's quite easy, personally I find the most tricky part is connecting all of the pieces
@@omazingpaige I'd suggest beginners in that case to either take a full plant based yarn or something like a half wool/half acrylic mix. In my experience you can block out most uneveness with those just fine. Even with only 20% wool, I'd say about 60% can be fixed with blocking.
For all who are unsure if it's within their capabilities: There is no such thing as a too difficult pattern these days, just ones that take you a bit longer to finish! If something goes wrong, just frog it. Take it a stitch at a time, watch some guides on YT if you don't know how to do a stitch and you got this.
the mosaic can be beginner friendly..... its only done in sigle and double crochet and each row is cut at the end then back to begining for new row... Mosaic is fun and addicting and misleading, way easier than it looks!! 🙃🙂😁
Yes I would like to see a tutorial on making a conservative women’s dress short sleeved for summer. I am 79 and have crocheted a long time. Currently I crochet from bed as I have something the doctors cannot figure out. I went 6 months the doctors said I had Multiple Sclerosis then just last week they said I didn’t have it. So I crochet from bed. I am crocheting a houndstooth cardigan now.
I rlly love these videos :D an idea for a future video might be like alternative style patterns bc I always see cutesy crochet stuff and while I love those too I also want some more alternative patterns n stuff yknow? Like I saw an amigurumi pattern for these cow devil things stuff like that :)
This was so so cool and inspiring! Just a small note 9:22 is a moth (i think it's the luna moth?) and 10:46 is a character called My Melody from the same company as Hello Kitty :D I hope one day I can tackle some of these harder projects
I'm obsessed with the dress at 7:20 but when I click the link supplied for it, it takes me to a totally different (still cute) dress any help finding that pretty twist top pattern?
I have to say,i just saw this, and, firstly,i think you are the cutest thing! You have the sweetest smile and the prettiest eyes! I'm trying to teach my granddaughters to knit and crochet! I love making things for my family, and i loved the video and will def follow you! Ive knitted, crocheted, quilted since i was in my late teens. I also taught myself macrame when i was in highschool. Im now pushing 70, haha! Keep up the good work. If you haven't already, check out LePetiteSaint crochet!

not test site thanks auto correct! it was a Etsy site paid pattern ...not free and no pattern...?
well well well what do we have here
A amazing vid with lots of effort put into it

Yo fairy’s are super cool and fun. I always loved the spiderwick watercolour fairy artworks best ☺️.
Yay! Thanks for all of the amazing designs! I love these kinds of videos!
THE SKULL PATTERN!!!!!! i’ve been searching far and wide for something like this…
I bought the flower hat pattern off etsy and the instructions are great, but it is not a beginner pattern at all. It turns out really beautiful.
We need more of this please. Stitches: bullion stitch. Sending support, love, and kindness from Lexington, Michigan, USA
Paige I love your videos! You are so heartwarming ❤: You can do this, you can do that... I feel sooo mighty after watching 😄🥰

Why do I love that chicken bag so much? 🐓

If you are looking for a real challenge in bags, try mosaic zipper bags. I have fallen in love with the designs i have found.
You should definetely do a part 2 for this!
