I am a retired "Jobbing Builder", and I have five "Cowboy Hats" and a "Bowler Hat". I would take you around some of the sites I have worked on, so you could see my work, but they have all been demolished now 😂🤠😂
Thanks for the support as always Tony, the pressure is off for a couple of weeks now, I've got just the right amount of work on, it will get manic though as soon as the summer holidays arrive, plenty of school jobs in the diary
Thanks for the support as always mate, I will defiantly stick to plumbing, although I might be able to give the England cricket team a good game the way they are playing
I smiled when you said you liked that kind of job, I'm a joiner and I did 30 years of shopfitting up and down the country been off the shops 3 years to old now for all the hours and being away from home , I have a nice workshop now manufacturing and doing my own work and home every night. Love watching your video's good variety of jobs and your honest and very clued up on your work. Just out of interest which company are doing the shopfitting.
Thanks for the support as always mate, my company will do all the shop fit on this one, we try to keep everything in house if we can, I look after the plumbing side but we have all the trades on the books, the only thing we can't touch on this one is the sprinkler system, the shopping centre uses there own contractor. We don't normally get too involed in shop fitting but have worked with this client before on other projects and they are happy to use us on this one
Oh right I didn't realise you did full fit outs I thought you just had a plumbing company. Your better off keeping clear of the sprinkler work, I unfortunately have seen the consequences of when a sprinkler goes off when the company employed to fit a all new sprinkler system decide to test the system forgetting to fit a head to an open pipe above the Calvin Klein consetion I'd had handed over literally an hour earlier (Topman, Topshop Oxford circus) the place was flooded in literally the blink of an eye.
I bet someone had some explaining to do on that one, I've only ever installed one sprinkler system in a large domestic house, the house needed it as it had glass floors on the upstairs landings and they weren't fire rated, it was a pain in the backside job
It was back in 1998 and back then Calvin Klein used to fly a female exec in for any hand overs anywhere in the world, she'd just got back to her swanky hotel when she got the phone call that the whole new consetion was ruined and it ended up with the main contractors having to pay for the consetion to be completely re done and you can imagine the cost when back then the carpet was £30 a yard Axminster.
Good to get a change, they say it’s as good as a rest. It’s a while since I fitted a durgo but must admit I’ve not come across a push fit one myself either. I don’t mind push fit plumbing as long as it’s hidden and correctly fitted and preferably any joints should be accessible to a certain extent.
Thanks for the support as always mate, to be honest I'm not a massive fan of pushfit plumbing, I would have much rather have used copper, it should be Ok though and it is clipped well, it just made sense on this one as I could feed the pipes in a bit easier, It's the first time I've ever seen a polypipe push fit dirgo, it will make changing easier
Tom i agree i hate push fit especially john guest speed fit. But needs must. I prefer polypipe more reliable and looks better. Thanks for the great content. Irish Ian.
Thanks for the support John, plastic pipe isn't my first choice but some jobs it just makes sense, it's interesting to see that other plumbers prefer polypipe, I don't see much of it around here, it's nearly all speedfit
Hi Tom, nice job there again, I know I like copper and solder, but as you say I also recognise plastic does have a place, especially if it’s out of sight. Not a great plastic fan but yes, I have used it too, the cowboy hat was looking good 😂, will it be your new head gear? Have a great week Tom and as always take care. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always Chris, I was thinking when I was putting that plastic in "what will Chris think", it was needs must on this job, all the sinks will be plumbed in copper though so at least that bit will look nice
It will be interesting to see how they do it to be fair, the shopping centre uses a contractor, it will be good fun for them if those valves don't hold, I imagine they have been there a few years, thanks for the support as always mate 👍
The jobs a priced one mate, I actually prefer quoting jobs like this rather than doing it on day rate as everyone knows where they stand and how much it will cost, from experience you are much more likely to get paid, I can't be dealing with getting to the end of jobs and then arguing about money, thanks for watching as always 👍
LOL, just get a dinamite mate! That will leave you in a better position to sort this one out. - Mum call the sheriff the cowboys are in Town! Good luck mate!
I'm not much of a drinker to be honest, I never really touch the stuff, I have a couple at Christmas and that's about it really, thanks for the support as always
Thanks for the support as always mate, It did look a bit like that, hopefully I never end up inside, I've worked in a few prisons and they are not the nicest of places
A different job Tom, makes a change I guess, verity is the spice of life don’t they say, not a fan of speedfit, prefer Hep if I have to use plastic, it’s come a long way since the early 80s when it first made an appearance in our world. Take care 🚽👍
Thanks for the support as always Peter, I've never tried Hep, my local merchants only stocked speedfit, I try not to use the stuff to often anyway as it screams DIY and copper is a much better job
Thanks for the support as always mate, I'm fed up of house bashing now, I've been jobbing about the last week so should be able to get some different stuff on the channel
My back looks like a pin cushion, I got stabbed that many times, it's partly my fault though as I should have been in before it was all boarded, I've just been a bit busy and got behind on a couple of jobs, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
I blame the electricians 😄, to be honest you do get used to low light with your eyes but the camera doesn't pick stuff up as well, thanks for watching as always 👍
You're making all these other speedfit plumbers look bad with your abundance of clips and straight runs. 😂 It has its uses for sure, might not be the prettiest but if it works for your job why not use it. 👍
To be honest some jobs is perfect for, I do like to clip it well though, everything on show will be copper but behind all the stud work it just made sense, thanks for watching as always mate 👍
Those 🥊🥊🥊🥊 are for the plumber sparky tear up 😂😂😂 the loser sweeps up 😂😂😂🥊🥊🥊SECONDS OUT ROUND ONE 🔔🔔🔔🔔 those toilets will be full of sprinklers once finished 😜😜🚿🚿🚿🚿
It was ply mate, all jobs like this have an asbestos survey done before work can start, if done properly, you should never come across any asbestos, you still have to be mindful though

I would take you around some of the sites I have worked on, so you could see my work, but they have all been demolished now 😂🤠😂
Ha, I wished I had kept the cowboy hat now, thanks for watching mate 👍
Great to see you in Top form Tom,
It’s always nice to get onto an enjoyable job with no pressure especially after working like mad for a few weeks
👍👍🤜
Thanks for the support as always Tony, the pressure is off for a couple of weeks now, I've got just the right amount of work on, it will get manic though as soon as the summer holidays arrive, plenty of school jobs in the diary
Very good video Tom in the shadows there don’t think red is your colour and you’ll never be a ball boy so you will have to keep on plumbing mate👍👍👍
Thanks for the support as always mate, I will defiantly stick to plumbing, although I might be able to give the England cricket team a good game the way they are playing
Blimey Tom that was a bit of a nightmare of a job .
Causing you a bit more of a struggle than normal .
No lighting did not help .
Well done 👍👍
Thanks for the support as always John it always helps when you can see what you are doing, nothing worse than working in the dark

love your videos thanks for the tip on changing a ball valve lol ..... tidy work as always ......
It certainly makes them easier to change, it does come with a slight downside though, thanks for watching as always 👍
Surely the cowboy hat must stay lol, great work Tom. Excellent video with great explanations 👏👏. Oh and I’ll pass on the beers 😂
Thanks for the support as always Andy, I sure the cowboy hat will feature again at some point
Thanks Tom Fantastic video as always nothing wrong with push fit mate
Thanks for the support as always Keith, it does make sense on some jobs, I still prefer cooper though

Thanks for the support as always PB, I wish I had kept it now, I could have worn it to every job, at least the customers would have fair warning

Thanks for the support as always mate, hopefully I didn't distract you to much from your job

@@PlumbLikeTomThank you for considering me Tom, I’m sure all will be well by the time you have finished.
Take care Tom, 🍻👍👍👍
Probably use Victaulic couplings for the fire system now. Use a machine to roll a groove on the end of the pipe and a split clamp with rubber seal.
It will be interesting to see how they do it to be fair, the shopping centre uses a contractor, it will be good fun for them if those valves don't hold, I imagine they have been there a few years, thanks for the support as always mate 👍
Good one Tom. Do you price for this type of job or is it time and materials. Either way you have to have a good relationship with the client.

Hi Tom when you first came on I thought you had been locked up m8t lol you looked like you in prison 😂
Thanks for the support as always mate, It did look a bit like that, hopefully I never end up inside, I've worked in a few prisons and they are not the nicest of places

I need to google who Ellie dee is, I don't know many celebrity's to be honest, thanks for the support as always mate
L.E.D. , just not a funny joke. He's probably a sparkie.
I got it now, I'm just a bit slow
I hate working in those service hatches, especially when the screw's from the plasterboard come right through the wall.Get cut all the time.
