I think every musician has their favorite keys... I can play in all 12 but I prefer the flat keys (Thanks for NOT calling it C# btw). Here's a tip that I use often, after I learn a song in a different key, I learn to also play it in my favorite keys. Playing a song in at least 2-3 keys helps me to understand the relationship of all the chords and licks to the key that I am in. I will say that unless you are really going to abuse a song by attempting to play it live in the actual key, avoid transpose at all costs. If you do have to transpose, that should signal you to practice the avoided key before next Sunday.
hahaha yea im with you bro and heyy anytime.. im training sum musicians under me the sharps and flats and i have told them that sum things easier remembered as flats to me.. but hey that's my opinion
Here's a fact that supports your opinion When you write out music C# has 7 sharps, including E# and B# (enharmonics for F and C). Db is the more obvious choice with 5 flats (and no enharmonics).
I'd love our feedback on my music ministry website... humble beginnings I know, but I hope it is a blessing to you and those you are teaching www.MyMinstrel.com
Hmm.. it probably is. It just so happened that the praise team and congregation I was at previously sang a lot in Db. Although I can read, I have never seen sheet music for this song.
I can make sheet music for it... Are you looking for something to get the basic flow of the song or are you looking for exactly what is played in the video/instrumental track?
I have to get Josiah on to check this out. Your a good teacher.
bro im with you.. i can work sooo many songs in the key of Db some call it cheating but i feel if im moe comfortable in it thats wat i play
