As for Queen Mary’s turquoise brooch, the irony should not be lost on us that Queen Mary and King George V were on the throne during the last world pandemic in 1919. I think Queen Elizabeth II was very contentious about the history of that brooch and picked it to send a message of hope during her message to the nation during the latest pandemic.
I don't really like some brooches, but if I could have any of the queens brooches I would wear it all the time, because her jewelry is so beautiful, elegant and expensive.
My favorite brooch would be the diamond flower with a huge pink diamond in the middle. Est $75 million. And of course what she called "chips" from the culinan diamond. A huge square cushion cut stone with an even bigger pear drop stone hanging from under it.
Isn’t all beautiful…she has a beautiful collection. Gorgeous. I just love jewels…just fascinating. The Russian s collection, Mary of Teck. Queen Elizabeth’s collection….on and on..superb.

It's wonderful seeing so many exquiste brooches from the late Queen Elizabeth II's collection. I wonder what her very favourite may have been? It certainly would be hard to choose just one. Do you have a favourite of all the ones you have surveyed?
One has to wonder whether we will see the likes of Catherine, Charlotte or the partners of George and Louis wearing such an extensive collection or whether they will be seen as "old fashioned"?
Worn as part of a set would be old fashioned. Earrings, necklace, and brooch all together is over the top. Too much. A brooch on an outer winter coat would be pretty. Or a brooch on a simple designed ballgown is pleasing. These brooches are so artfully designed I would hate to hear of them taken apart and the stones being set into other jewelry pieces. Some of the brooches could be saved but set into a tiara to be worn. In fact often tiaras are designed to have various parts detachable to be worn as brooches, earrings, and necklaces occasionally.
I think brooches can be very modern, and they have the great benefit of being able to be worn everywhere, even as accessories for men, I think they are due a resurgence in popularity.
I really miss Queen Elizabeth.
I do too; hate seeing Camilla wearing her jewelry!!
Thanks, as a brooche lover myself, I really enjoyed this video!
I miss Queen Elizabeth the second very much 😢.
