I'm especially interested in programming the module for powerfold mirror upgrade. Have you tried any module programming or just used your setup for diagnosis?
Hey Leon! We’re trying to program a new ECU in a 2013 XF, but can’t figure out how to get the ignition to stay in the “on” position without shutting off during programming. Can you help?
Hi Leon Surely there must be more information available to software owners on just what each unit actually does? e.g. battery replacement? Do I need to do something in here before or after the battery is replaced? I am loath to go on a mission of discovery where one keystroke can wreck everything !

I am thinking a put buying the same as you for my XK 2010. I'm a member of the Jag owners club and having some very confusing issues with my electrics have asked for advice. I get either no response or told I'm on the wrong models thread, which is a great help. I have had my car looked at by my garage then an auto electrician who said go to main dealer and get a full diagnostic check. Sounds good but I'm disabled and have limited funds, so I'm taking a course on auto electrics and wanted your advice on the SSD system for my car. I don't mind the expense if it will fix my problems. Keep up the good work. Andy
Leon, you sound very knowledgeable about Jags. I have a question. You are aware of the exhaust note of the F-Type SVR, correct? I understand that this particular sound is due to the engine management system and how it handles un-combusted fuel. Is it possible to program those same settings on another car to get a similar sound?

SDD is usually available from Torrent sites (best use a VPN)! Sometimes also included if you buy a Mongoose JLR cable from eBay. I haven’t seen it sat around on a normal website.
The JLR Mongoose pro Clone is available at aliexpress. Comes with dvds and a cd driver for the cable. Also sdd can be purchased on ebay for 10euros separate

Yes, it makes a horrible crunching sound 3 or 4 times from the speakers. You'll have the wipers doing 1 pass, and a lot of warning lights going on and off while the software looks for each of the car's modules!
You will have to rummage in the diagnostics area. The system likes you to put in your "symptom" then it shows you what it thinks are the revant codes. It is possible to see all the codes from the time line view I think (I don't have the software in front of me just now). I learned by clicking through each of the menus. There aren't many where you can do damage (erase all keys and the item for replacing the clocks excepted!).

superluminal89 uhhh that sound has to do with the active exhaust valves in the rear muffler....

@@vikaskhokhar6834 One of your door, boot or bonnet sensors is reading as open or it is seeing the key as being inside the boot or car.
