In 1978, I owned two CB400-Fs, one yellow (76) and the other blue (77). The blue bike was my road race machine with Pop’s Yoshimura 466 engine kit, Kaz Yoshima hand built exhaust, Martek ignition, inverted S&W shocks. I sold the yellow one to a friend and the blue one to a business acquaintance. I sure wish I’d kept one!

My buddy had the original ‘69. Rode it often .... beautiful, great running bike ... hated to go back to my ‘67 cb450. But great time to be young ....

1:18 The CB750 didn’t come with finned disc brakes from factory. It was however an extremely common modification that people did by drilling holes in them (or just buying aftermarket) in order to get better cooling and performance in the rain!

I always thought these bikes were so cool. I loved the sound of their engines, with all that high-mounted valve gear whirring like a sewing machine.

What was really amazing was that in the late 60s into early 70s that Honda started a war in America . The owners on Harley & Triumph ruled up till then. But their quality control and innovation lacked. Honda came out with great bikes and electric starters. Then Kawasaki jumped in with the 500 & 750 two stroke which blew everybody away. To top it off , Kawasaki 900 four stroke reigned king by 1974. Today the bikes are unbelievable, track racing bikes for the street. I can not even think of being young and having all that at my command.

I had a '73 CL350 in 1976 and my riding buddy had a CB750. It was my dream bike. Unfortunately never got one.

I owned a 750 but I would call it comfortable. Someone coined the phase, "vibrating sawhorse". Smooth, fast but a two hour ride is numbing. Loved that bike!

I have a '78 cb750A. I think I'm going to thin out the heard, then I take it for a ride and can't part with it.

Great video Donald! First superbike is a real argument starter! I could pick a few before this one. Opinions vary with what generation your from.

70's universal japanese motorcycles are the best, modern 'retro' bikes are returning to 70's look.

A Vincent Black shadow from the 1950's, or a Norton Manx from the 60's were not superbikes?

Negative Ghost Rider. The first Superbike was the Triumph Trident. More powerful and handled better. The brakes were shite. But that wasn't the point. Put them all...Norton..on the track today. You know who will win.
