This sequence is always fun to watch! Most of the choreo variations I've seen for the Russian Dance require a lot of stamina and body control -- super impressive!
I always felt that the first part should be wth like 2 or 3 dancers, but the 2nd part with even more power and speed at 0:54 should be with an entire crowd......so much strenght in this piece! It's my favorite.
My daughter was in this ballet twice, in Cinncy. Age 3 party child, again as soldier maybe? Dayton, Ponticorva ballet a bunch, S. DAYTON and did one every year for 17 years. I made costumes, etc. Did outreach, photos, news reporter write ups. What fun we had , rehearsals, loading in and out, hanging stage lights, props. It was all of our lives celebration. We had a following every year from her articles, her dance friends and teachers at school, church.

It wasn't the audience, it was some of the performers in the background, if it was the audience. then the tone would have been lower. And in Russia Clapping in between movements or any kind of music. Doesn't Happen It's rare. And also, CLAPPING IN BEAT When a Dance is Preformed is Something that happens often. not like Clapping for applause.
me dio tanto escalofrío verlos bailar pero no de mala manera si no de ver algo tan increíble que me hace sentir cosas que solo puedes sentir cuando algo parece tan increíble para ser cierto
В російському танці чомусь елементи українського танцю гопак ?! In the Russian dance, for some reason, there are elements of the Ukrainian hopak dance ?!
Neat! It looks like they borrowed choreography from Gene Kelly and the Nicholas brothers from the movie musical The Pirate. Specifically the “be a clown” number.
This seems like an American production? I have seen many Nutcracker performances, but I tend to find that the American performances are usually so awkward. I do love the French and Russian performances and the Canadian performance is usually okay, but it is something that I noticed in this performance that the dancers almost appeared awkward and the silly gingerbread in the back...

@@tshduck5167 I’m sorry, I know you wrote this months ago, but I just feel the need to point out that you don’t need to be an expert on something in order for your criticism to be valid. For example, I’m a classically trained musician. If I played something for my very (non musical) family, and they said it was “meh” I’d listen to that and try to make it less “meh”. I’d assume any other artist, whether it be visual art, dance, drama, etc. would do the same when it comes to receiving criticism, whether it be coming from an expert or not. Also, when it comes to this interpretation of that dance, I agree with Barbara. While they are obviously incredibly talented dancers, this wasn’t their best. They were out of sync on multiple occasions. Also, from a musical perspective, this interpretation was very slow compared to how it’s usually played. The orchestra also seemed out of tune.

My only criticism is that this needs to be longer.
They're not completely synchronized but it was still great
