In this video I attempt to hatch and raise Sea-Monkeys in a fish bowl that's only 5ml in volume. This was an experiment to see how little water was necessary to successfully raise brine shrimp from eggs to adulthood. I do not recommend putting fish or other shrimp species in a tank this small.

Aw this made me remember the singular time in my life I had sea monkeys! I had got them as a present for my 6th birthday, and immediately set them up. I was so excited when the first babies hatched, I was practically squealing! And I kid you not, every morning when I woke up for the next couple of months, there was always 2-3 batches of babies being born before my eyes. It never failed to excite me! The tank almost grew cloudy with how many babies and adults there were. But sadly, it all came to end when my younger brother kicked a soccer ball into the kitchen and it hit the tank that was sitting on the counter. The tank was knocked onto the floor and all the water and shrimps spilled out. I cried for weeks after. I havent had any since this incident, and it still makes me sad to walk past the cases of sea monkeys in the store. :(

@@22402jess Did you read my comment? I'm agreeing with you. This is exceptionally cruel. That said, if the sea monkeys had the mental capacity to be stressed, they would not be comfortable enough to breed. At the very least, this guy made sure the water stayed in good enough condition to minimize stress. Considering the conditions your average betta and goldfish live in, the fact that this guy actually gives a shit about this sea monkey pair is more than most "loving" owners offer their aquatics

@@22402jess And they still survived, and he returned them safely back to the tank in the end anyways. This wasn't just for the sake of getting views, this is an experiment to see if we *could,* Even though obviously you shouldn't make it the standard. But in the end, even with a single pair of sea monkeys it would eventually become crowded after they have offspring of their own. He clearly knows his stuff when it comes to raising these creatures, so if anyone would be qualified to attempt this One-time experiment, it would be him.
Obviously this would never work as a permanent solution. That was never the intention. The fact that the two he kept in the bowl survived for long enough to even breed and produce offspring of their own was the best case scenario. Possibly even a Fluke.
Any further and it would devolve into overcrowding, overproduction of waste & Toxic chemicals from their poop, lack of oxygen, and possibly even cannibalism. He knew what the limit was, and avoided it by returning the creatures to the main tank.

I used to carry some of mine about (just for short periods) in a Tic Tac box as it was a similar volume to the locket and watch, I wonder though if you were at a suitable scale to make the volume viable you could have a properly functional pond or aquarium in a Model enviorment using Sea Monkeys as your fish, maybe like a equivlent 3-4ft aquarium to a 1/6th figure perhaps as you could even build working filtration and airation into it.
