No, it started with the reformation. Henry the 8th persecuted the reformers until it suited him in order to secure an heir to his throne. He just legally separated the church from Rome. The church needs to go back to its reformed roots and foundation. All the large, growing and planting churches are evangelical, bible preaching churches. Catholic and Liberal Anglican churches are dwindling and dying, or dead already.

When I was young our denomination in Australia was officially The Church of England. I'm glad it's now the Anglican Church of Australia and has a General Synod majority that wants to remain biblical. I feel very much for C of E people, especially clergy, who truly try to honour God.

yep. I havent been to Church for years, except for the odd occasion, not because I didn't want to go, but because slowly they've been swopping the teachings of God and true love, for an anything goes attitude, and now we're blessing sin. It's made me feel an urge to turn Catholic, but my heart is still COE. We'll see how long that lasts. God bless and keep the faith and keep championing God through his own words.
My heart goes out to you Rev. Dan - why should the Orthodox be driven out? But how can you stay when the Church has turned its back on the Scriptural foundation of faith and is redefining God in its own image? I am in Wales, further down the apostasy route & was actually worshipping in a Methodist Church until they embraced SSM, so am now part of an online community. We pray for the CofE & Orthodox clergy regularly. I do think God is doing a new thing & will not be mocked (I gather synod also failed to endorse an amendment stating that ‘worship is more important than environment’ - this runs much deeper than just sexuality.) Every blessing as you discern what to do.
They are trying to funnel them into Roman Catholicism. They've worked on this for years. That bishop I've met him many times he's only interested in the next election and who and what people vote for. But Rome it's infiltrated everywhere. I'm seeing priests say the rosary and push the congregation to reunite with their Roman brothers and sister. Some who's risen in the ranks as secret catholics given the conversations I've had.
As someone who grew up in the Church of England by heart weeps for its current status. I personally had move on due to child baptism (some people would say a secondary issue). I can't see a way forward without a split due to differences in theology.

Unbaptised people could not be accepted into Heaven, and so newborn children were baptised very soon after birth in order to avoid this possibility. As a new convert I find myself absolutely shocked at the state of the CofE. He has been very clear on his beliefs and I cannot believe so many who claim to know Him would so blatantly disregard His Word. I want to be baptised and I want to go to church but I feel like many of the so called Christians in my town do not or have not ever taken Him seriously. If it weren’t for opposition voices like you online I would feel very alone, more so than I do atm at least. I pray these lost souls wake up one day soon. A den of vipers indeed
I would warmly but strongly encourage you to look into becoming Catholic my brother, the Anglican Churches are not sustainable without legitimate apostolic succession and authority and will continue to fall further into error until the congregations move elsewhere and the church fizzles out
I know it is hard to find a Bible Believing Church. There are some individual Churches that do believe and call God Father. Not mother or trans. I've found one Baptist Church in my area. Maybe there are others. I know my local Wesleyian is very very woke. Don't look at the R.C Church they worship the Pope and that Pope is leading them to the road to hell. He is wanting Jews Christians and Muslims to become one. The one world church. The buildings may be separated now but that won't last. At least Jews and Christians worship the same God. Muslims worship a different god.

I am baptised Catholic but it was developments in 2020 that stopped me from making the steps to become Anglican which I had considered in the years previous, I am happy now to have reconciled myself with the faith of my baptism
I hear you Glen, but I think that our Lord's teaching is to love one another as we love ourselves. Going to war within the church is a great way to allow other faiths to take the prime position in the country and possibly the rest of the anglican world. I can see that you might like to have an instant resolution to this very difficult problem but patient struggle is sometimes the best way to find peace.

The three parish priests in the nearest three parishes to me have left and not been replaced. Churches are being downgraded and the one local to us will probably have no services at all. I feel as if the church has abandoned it's flock.

Do not lump all churches together. The Free churches ie Baptist, Free, Con. Fed. etc. are jot under the auspices of the Church of England and have mostly resisted this. Maybe you should look for a small independent place of Christian worship?

My comments applied this clip which was the Church of England. I see thriving, (free), churches elsewhere. I found a wonderful free church in Cardigan last year and there is a really good church here in Lincolnshire. While continuing to support our local CoE church we are looking for a true spiritual home. While the CoE seems to be tearing itself apart over the exact ways in which we love our brothers and sisters, we'll look for pastoring elsewhere.
I agree with ‘GSFA’ for breaking away due this false doctrine. As practising Christians we are the Church. And our direction is to follow the Word of God as the Bible teaches us. So if the Bible speak against something then we should refrain from practising. Therefore if any one or group wishes to be liberal, politically correct or follow the ways of the world, then they should just leave - and maybe go into politics. Just remember. The true message of God came through christ and 12 apostles. And the addition of Paul. They had no beautiful buildings. They started with no followers. But the message is so strong it spread throughout the whole world. Abandon any church that teaches the false teachings of Satan. May His Holy Spirit guide you continually and lead you in the path of life. We can't worship God if we are embracing the world view. We either follow the Lord or the world. As Jesus said we must take up the cross and follow Him indicating that to do this will mean suffering. I should clarify that in my last comment, the imposters are those who like the goats in a flock of sheep, do not know the shepherd’s voice, ( goats look like sheep in a flock, but unlike sheep they cannot recognise the shepherd’s voice. Goats like to ahead and lead the flock astray. When the master calls, it is the sheep who respond to his voice, and turn from following the goats. Where is an orthodox person supposed to go? I don't believe in transubstantiation, so I can't go to the Eastern Orthodox Church, and I can't go to the church of Rome either.

I've now left the C of E. As an Anglo Catholic I could go to an RC Church, but that's heading in the same direction as the Episcopal Church and the C of E. I'd happily join an Eastern Orthodox Church, but there aren't any here in the Peak District. Staying and fighting is a waste of time because, as Gavin Ashenden has said, we're now in the same position as the British Army at Dunkirk.

The “great apostasy” is mentioned Thessalonians 2:3. An apostasy is a rebellion, an abandonment of the truth. Like in the garden of Eden. In these end times expect a attempt by Satan to convince us all to reject God’s truth, and man’s wicked heart will to try and supplant His truth to further mislead and confuse and the faithful will leave the C of E. After all the serpent in the garden used clever words to distort Gods Truth and His warning. If they won’t listen to The Truth then shake the dust from your feet and go elsewhere. There are plenty for people in the world who need gathering in.

Recently come back to Christ after a long absence. Had no idea about the goings on within the C of E. My dilemma now is which denomination do I turn to without straying from the doctrine and sacraments I’ve grown up with 56yrs? The C of E has always been divided . Those who stand on the absolute belief in scripture as the only final authority in matters of faith and conduct, and those who don't. The Anglican “church” is divided as it is not a church at all but an umbrella organisation eith several factions. Dr Lloyd Jones called for all Evangelicals to leave it as it is doctrinally mixed. John Stott disagreed with him but it was Lloyd Jones who has been proved right.
The church BODY are the different people that make it up. The early church worshipped in houses. God is worshipped by us in Truth and in Spirit. God dwells within us. Dan, I hear your pain! There's only one thing to do. 'Do not yolk yourself with unbelievers' (2 Cor 6:14). Leave the C of E and start serving the Lord in an independent evangelical church. A recent report/study has found that the C of E is in terminal decline. Pentecostal Evangelical churches (eg Newfrontiers and Vineyard) are growing - as are FIEC churches. Find one near you. You will be made very welcome, and the Lord will met all you needs. I'll be praying for you!

No, it started with the reformation. Henry the 8th persecuted the reformers until it suited him in order to secure an heir to his throne. He just legally separated the church from Rome. The church needs to go back to its reformed roots and foundation. All the large, growing and planting churches are evangelical, bible preaching churches. Catholic and Liberal Anglican churches are dwindling and dying, or dead already.
I’m sending back my cofe reception certificate after 10 years as an Anglican. My kids are going to a cofe school and I’m scared for their mental, moral and physical safety. God save us from the diabolical cult the bishops have joined.

When I was young our denomination in Australia was officially The Church of England. I'm glad it's now the Anglican Church of Australia and has a General Synod majority that wants to remain biblical. I feel very much for C of E people, especially clergy, who truly try to honour God.
If you live in Australia, you need to support women and children , safeguarding against men accessing womens spaces when they claim to women.

yep. I havent been to Church for years, except for the odd occasion, not because I didn't want to go, but because slowly they've been swopping the teachings of God and true love, for an anything goes attitude, and now we're blessing sin. It's made me feel an urge to turn Catholic, but my heart is still COE. We'll see how long that lasts. God bless and keep the faith and keep championing God through his own words.
My heart goes out to you Rev. Dan - why should the Orthodox be driven out? But how can you stay when the Church has turned its back on the Scriptural foundation of faith and is redefining God in its own image? I am in Wales, further down the apostasy route & was actually worshipping in a Methodist Church until they embraced SSM, so am now part of an online community. We pray for the CofE & Orthodox clergy regularly. I do think God is doing a new thing & will not be mocked (I gather synod also failed to endorse an amendment stating that ‘worship is more important than environment’ - this runs much deeper than just sexuality.) Every blessing as you discern what to do.
They are trying to funnel them into Roman Catholicism. They've worked on this for years. That bishop I've met him many times he's only interested in the next election and who and what people vote for. But Rome it's infiltrated everywhere. I'm seeing priests say the rosary and push the congregation to reunite with their Roman brothers and sister. Some who's risen in the ranks as secret catholics given the conversations I've had.

As someone who grew up in the Church of England by heart weeps for its current status. I personally had move on due to child baptism (some people would say a secondary issue). I can't see a way forward without a split due to differences in theology.

Baby Baptism is just another anti Bible example. Which was inherited from the R.C Church. Babies can't repent, cant be reborn, can't accept Jesus. Let's face it you don't even have to be a believer to be baptised in the CofE or RC. You know the saying only ever seen at hatches matches & dispatches. Some churches for weddings are a good back drop for photographs. Even had one none believing bride complain the aisle wasn't long enough for her walk. That's only one of many reasons for leaving the CofE. Like me she probably had a lot more.

Unbaptised people could not be accepted into Heaven, and so newborn children were baptised very soon after birth in order to avoid this possibility. I know of many Anglican churches which offer adult baptism so that anyone who wishes can be accepted into the Church as a believer.

As a new convert I find myself absolutely shocked at the state of the CofE. He has been very clear on his beliefs and I cannot believe so many who claim to know Him would so blatantly disregard His Word. I want to be baptised and I want to go to church but I feel like many of the so called Christians in my town do not or have not ever taken Him seriously. If it weren’t for opposition voices like you online I would feel very alone, more so than I do atm at least. I pray these lost souls wake up one day soon. A den of vipers indeed
I would warmly but strongly encourage you to look into becoming Catholic my brother, the Anglican Churches are not sustainable without legitimate apostolic succession and authority and will continue to fall further into error until the congregations move elsewhere and the church fizzles out
I know it is hard to find a Bible Believing Church. There are some individual Churches that do believe and call God Father. Not mother or trans.
I've found one Baptist Church in my area. Maybe there are others. I know my local Wesleyian is very very woke.

Leaving is the only option, but thousands of us knew this and did so in 2020.
There are plenty of small free churches ie. Baptist, Free Church (where I go), etc. that have resisted.
As distressing as this would be, I can’t see another way for the parishioners. If your leaders and teachers are preaching false Doctrine you would in all conscience have to leave. So very sad.
I am baptised Catholic but it was developments in 2020 that stopped me from making the steps to become Anglican which I had considered in the years previous, I am happy now to have reconciled myself with the faith of my baptism

The problem is a simple one, if you follow the 'teachings' of the C of E Bishops you are, like them, an Apostate.
I hear you Glen, but I think that our Lord's teaching is to love one another as we love ourselves. Going to war within the church is a great way to allow other faiths to take the prime position in the country and possibly the rest of the anglican world. I can see that you might like to have an instant resolution to this very difficult problem but patient struggle is sometimes the best way to find peace.

The three parish priests in the nearest three parishes to me have left and not been replaced. Churches are being downgraded and the one local to us will probably have no services at all. I feel as if the church has abandoned it's flock.

Do not lump all churches together. The Free churches ie Baptist, Free, Con. Fed. etc. are jot under the auspices of the Church of England and have mostly resisted this. Maybe you should look for a small independent place of Christian worship?

My comments applied this clip which was the Church of England. I see thriving, (free), churches elsewhere. I found a wonderful free church in Cardigan last year and there is a really good church here in Lincolnshire. While continuing to support our local CoE church we are looking for a true spiritual home. While the CoE seems to be tearing itself apart over the exact ways in which we love our brothers and sisters, we'll look for pastoring elsewhere.

I've now left the C of E. As an Anglo Catholic I could go to an RC Church, but that's heading in the same direction as the Episcopal Church and the C of E. I'd happily join an Eastern Orthodox Church, but there aren't any here in the Peak District. Staying and fighting is a waste of time because, as Gavin Ashenden has said, we're now in the same position as the British Army at Dunkirk.

I increasingly feel like the Egyptian Ptolemaic dynasty did before the Romans arrived. We are watching the slow destruction of a once decent society before our eyes.

My dilemma now is which denomination do I turn to without straying from the doctrine and sacraments I’ve grown up with 56yrs? Do have to put all my beliefs behind me & adopt new beliefs which is going to be incredibly hard if not impossible.

I have lived on half a stipend for two and a half years because God called me to serve in a certain church, as a family we couldn't afford it but I was loyal to God's calling. I am following God's call to this new place, for me it is about following God and not the CofE.

The Anglican “church” is divided as it is not a church at all but an umbrella organisation eith several factions. Dr Lloyd Jones called for all Evangelicals to leave it as it is doctrinally mixed. John Stott disagreed with him but it was Lloyd Jones who has been proved right.
The church BODY are the different people that make it up. The early church worshipped in houses. God is worshipped by us in Truth and in Spirit. God dwells within us. This world is not our home, we are ambassadors of Christ and ambassadors get called home before the todo happens and its gonna happen soon. Matt 24. 2 Thes 2. 1 Thes 5. Well I go to Church for guidance. Now Im a little confused. I do believe in Love. Thats what Jesus preached. I dont know what is right now.

The CofE has been messed up for a long time. Why are people acting like this is a sudden thing?
@peter green Denying any Scripture is big and gas big implications. Having women ministers is a denial of Scripture and has big implications. That decision has undoubtedly contributed to this same-sex marriage decision they've made today.

DT is surely one of the most inspiring and beautiful Christian souls that has ever lived. If he has a different viewpoint on this particular issue, can not elements of the church just respect that and not make it into such a huge deal?
Dan, I hear your pain! There's only one thing to do. 'Do not yolk yourself with unbelievers' (2 Cor 6:14). Leave the C of E and start serving the Lord in an independent evangelical church. A recent report/study has found that the C of E is in terminal decline. Pentecostal Evangelical churches (eg Newfrontiers and Vineyard) are growing - as are FIEC churches. Find one near you. You will be made very welcome, and the Lord will met all you needs. I'll be praying for you!
Thanks! It is difficult at the moment, in our church we are seeing grow and our engagement with our community is fantastic. God is moving here at the moment. It is a shame what the Church of England is doing to itself!
Dan I fear that those in control of the church are convinced they are correct and are deaf to any notion to change.
