I have a thought. If Benedict is going to have an existential crisis, ala who am I, maybe he will let himself go a bit and get really slobby and gruff looking.
I think they are going to have the Masquerade Ball where Sophie and Benedict meet and it is there that he decided he needs to pull himself together to look respectable for when he finds his lady in silver. That could be where his glow up comes in for season 4!

That makes me wary that they might do Eloise next. Colin and Penelope would play a big role in her story. They also said they had to move up Penelope’s story as the ladies couldn’t play teenagers for too long. I hope we get Benedict’s though

I'm still pissed that they swapped them. How are they going to do the whistledown drama in Benedict's season when Penelope is outted in her story with Colin to be Whistledown. It should have stayed in book order cause Eloise marries only months after Pen and Colin.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tied in the meet cute of Benedict and Sophie in Season 3, as it did happen at a masquerade costume ball, focusing on Benedict's view of it so the viewers get a taste of his future, mysterious lady. Then going more into Sophie's side of it in Season 4 since there is a short time skip between their meet cute and when Benedict finds her again as a servant.
But based on current information (as season 3 isn't out yet), they might just save the meet cute for the first episode of Season 4 and change things up story wise. They did it with Pen and Colin, taking the 'matchmaker' storyline from one of Julia Quinn's earlier novels "Minx". It's exciting to see what will happen.
I really hope Edwina ends up with prince fredrick too! At least just a happy ending for her

@@majast4900 No it mite not be a Prince. Queen Charlotte merely said that her nephew is a Prince (talking abt Friedrich) & 'he's single', meaning he cud be an option for Edwina. That doesnt mean that they got together. In season 3 the Queen mentioned Edwina, saying that she found a "match abroad". That was a very coy & vague statement from the writers. Neither conversation gives any confirmation or clarity on who Edwina has actually married. Book Edwina doesnt marry a Prince. Show Edwina cud marry Prince Friedrich or another suitor entirely. We dont know yet.

Omg am I the only one who is really disappointed and sad that Daphine and Simone are expected to not return.. AGAIN?! Like not even for a quick cameo?? I so don't understand it. they both did an AMAZING job and its sad to not expect to see them in season 3 or likely 4 either... I hope they change their minds and write them in a part even if it is small 😢
Agree. It was shortsighted not to have a contract for Daphne and Simon to at least appear every season. One day of shooting would be enough. Understand the spotlight is no longer on them, but they were the hottest couple so far. First Season is worth rewatching on repeat.
Most of these actors have gone on with their careers and simply can't take the time away to make an appearance. The original Francesca actress had to turn down appearing in this season because she is on another show. I miss the original actors too, but when you realize they have other acting contracts in place...I wish them well.

There are no Black female leads in Bridgeton
Bridgerton is about a cohesive close family. When casting for the series they should have hired actors that could comment to all future seasons if only in a small part. The exception would be Hyacinth and Gregory that would need to be replaced with older actors. That's what all other series do.
I think they realized that after Season 1 ended, that they needed to lock down all of the actors for future seasons. It puts them in an awkward position for Daphne. I think the actress would appear in all future seasons, but without Simon, it would be weird. Hence, why she’s not in Season 3.
By the time the get around to Hyacinth and Gregory, they may be old enough.
So far, we've heard that Anthony Kate Collin and Penelope will all return for season 4.
of course they must have to come in the all season because Anthony and Colin is bridgerton. Kate and Penelope became bridgerton after marriage. so they all are bridgerton.....they must have to return every season or i will riot

The thing is that whoever they choose there's always gonna be someone who doesn't like her for X number of reasons, what I think is most important is that they do a great job with the script because after Polin season they are setting the bar way too high
The Cowper family already has a good setup. In the 3rd episode of S3 (I think) Lady Cowper mentions to Cressida "You do not know the pressure your father is putting on me. We may have to wear these dresses twice in a season." Could it be he is trying to clear the way for another daughter? I thought this was an odd insert into her story, however it may be a hint.
One thing I notice NOT getting mentioned about Francesca is that she actually gets married, I believe, in her first season, long before Eloise. Her marriage is pretty much a foot note in one of the earlier books. Her book "When He Was Wicked," takes place after Eloise's story. I won't mention who, what or why to prevent too many spoilers for those who have not read the books. I could easily see her getting married this season as, although it is small part of her story, it will not negatively effect any stories before we actually get to her.
I think this would make a lot of sense. To me, Francesca could marry John this season, final episode of season 3 could be the masquerade ball where Benedict meets Sophie for the first time not knowing who she is and we would have the perfect cliffhanger for season 4. Season 4 would be Benedict's season and is when Eloise starts to write letters to Sir Phillip, so we would have season 5 for Eloise and season 6 to the other part of Frannie's story. That's what I picture, but who knows?

I’m very confused as to how y’all expected none of the Bridgerton sons to have a Black female love interest on a show with a Black female show runner?
I was of the same option for Benedicts love interest not wanting her be black because of the whole servant aspect.
Where we have a fictional story and societal time period and the a black women would still have to be a servant/ slave still just didn't sit right with me. Ask a black women who loves romance and period dramas. I would like some escapism. while I also still wanting her to be black and not mix or light skin, full black because I didn't want to wait for a black women love interest for George's season. though if this actress will play Sofie I am very happy and I can't wait to see her in action.
I just finished Benedict's book; they have made him a lot nicer & not as passionate about his pushiness in the show rather than the book. But loved this storyline, disappointed about the casting for Sophie not as described as in the book, as we know they do change in the series vs the book. But the actress playing her is gorgeous so if Benedict in fact gets his season which I hope so can't wait to see it play on screen!

At the ene of s3 Eloise told Ben she would be back in a year because she cant miss their moms Masquerade. In th3 books he meets her off page at a Masquerade. And has been thinking about her for 2 years. At the very end of s2 we get about a year or more time jump. So this feels like the perfect setup

And I want to now what everyone’s opinion is. I didn’t like Theo for no other reason than he’s white, I like the idea 💡 of Theo but I don’t like that he’s a white boy that looks like Eloise’s long lost twin brother. Penelope and Colin are the only white non-mix couple I’m willing to accept. Because there my favorite 😍 as I said, I want the whole rainbow 🌈 and I want different fashion styles that incorporates those cultures. I don’t think I’d have liked Theo to be a visible minority, only for her to end up with a white man. I imagine others would similarly feel off put by that.

I have to say all this talk of season 4 has got me hoping because honestly, part 1 of season 3 was a huge disappointment! The only truly swoon worthy scene of course was the infamous " carriage scene " at the very end!!! Granted the initial hinting and revelations of NEW titles etc was fun but I found that a 4 episode season could have easily been run in 2 episode beginning with suspense of
" other " storylines being developed. Honestly breaking the season in to 2 parts is nothing more than click bait! Very disappointing. 😔 😔
My guess after seeing Season 3 Part 2 is Francesca, then Benedict, then Eloise. I’m basing that off of character introductions (or lack of them), and also existing relationship development.

The thing about Benedict's book is that they spend a fair amount of time not in London. They are out in the country at his home that he got on his own. maybe it won't be a glow up, but a make under, where he has kind of a sexy muddy cowboy look.

I really hope Benedict is season 4 lead because his story is becoming boring, first two seasons it was interesting to see his journey with art and not feeling he has a purpose, but making him go through that for yet another season doesn't make any sense, I think it is his time. Also, in the first episode of season 3 he already said that he doesn't know what to do with himself now that Anthony came back from his honeymoon, that tending the state while Anthony was away gave him a purpose, so I think it's time for him to step up

When I first watched the 2 seasons, I was attracted to Benedict straight away. I think in S3, he is already looking very good, so he might not need a glow-up. I only got side-tracked slightly by Colin when he appeared in the first Ep of S3, he really looks different from the past 2 seasons.
I really do hope S4 is about Benedict, & I presume S5/S6 would be for Eloise or Francesca. We need Marina & John to pass away first & S4 could be a set-up for the back-story of them passing away, with Michael Stirling being introduced in S4. 😬

The anti-Black racism is strong in these comments. I really have to laugh because it is a Black woman, Shonda Rhimes, that have brought these characters to life. The author, Julia Quinn, has done nothing but praised Shonda's adaptations of her novels. They even worked together to bring Queen Charlotte to life. I really think some of you need to accept diversity is the new norm. This is the 21st century.
Bridgeton Season 3 will have an East Asian as an early love interest for Colin. I saw her in a preview. It would not bother me if Benedict's Sophia is Black, Asian, Caucasian, or Mexican. I am more interested in the story.❤

The show should have signed the entire cast to long term contracts that required an appearance in recurring seasons. It doesn’t make sense that family members are never seen again… especially in such a close family as the Bridgertons.

No me parece bien que no aparezcan los otros miembros de la familia conforme se van contando sus historias. Ya me pareció mal que los protagonistas de la primera temporada, dejen de verse casi por completo (salvo la duquesa), pero para mí, sería un terrible error, que Pen y Colin tampoco aparecieran. Siguen siendo familia y su historia de amor, es la mejor, a mi modo de entender. Aunque entiendo el protagonismo de cada uno en su temporada, me plantearía seguir la serie si llega el caso...

I feel like there should have been a part for Daphne. They showed all the family together, but not the oldest daughter. I didn't think that was right. Even if they didn't show her husband. She still should have been included in the family part.

Girl 😒. There are people in here complaining that there is a lack of diversity because they have not included an East Asian or LatinX yet. I find that to be interesting that when they don't include East Asians or LatinX, people suddenly care about a lack of diversity(where was this energy for the last two seasons). I also find it interesting that people are ignoring the fact that in the second season the leading female love interest was Indian which is considered Asian regardless of the region; but that still isn't good enough. If BW complain about lack of representation or being misrepresented we are looked at as a problem. You know what actually irritated me( and I could be over-analyzing this) when looking at these comments someone actually said that they pictured a BW woman for this role while reading the book( mind you this person is non-Black) like what is that supposed to mean? So you felt that only a BW can play a role where she had to struggle before she met someone who took her out of her situation?! 🤦🏾♀️. BW always have to tolerate being underrepresented and we definitely don't complain this much especially not with the level of vitriol I'm seeing. Anyway, Imma end it off with this BW are the most disrespected and it's clear that a lot of women in here are jealous of this BW beauty(the one who might be cast as Sophie).

They have never done anything to convince me it exists. They're always competing with us in the worst way. Our cause as women and our representation is the only thing I will champion. @@lolab1917I’m not sure about the “lack of diversity” comments. I haven’t seen or interpreted them that way. I’ve seen it more as hoping for actual diversity, as in, more than just black/white. There wasn’t quite as much reason for “this energy” in seasons 1&2, because the lead couples were interracial. That said, there could have been some grumbling since we already knew 2 of the 5 oldest siblings have white partners-Colin and Eloise’s book love interests were more or less revealed in season 1.
The reason for more energy now is because so many love Benedict, and season 4 is guaranteed. Season’s 5-8 are still up in the air. However, even then one is already known, and he’s white. I saw someone say Hyacinth’s is related to Lady Danbury, so that suggests another black male lead. There is only one other male Bridgerton, Gregory.
All that said, there are other characters of interest and potential spinoffs/mini series. Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury, (especially the latter). Plus, the former boxer and his wife (I’m blanking on names) and Ms Delacroix. There are quite a few BW (and mixed/light skinned) and they’ve been reasonably represented. With the exception of Lady Danbury’s love life, but if that is rectified I’d be good.
As for that horrible Sophie related comment you mentioned… I’m so glad to finally find someone else call that out that BS! 🤦🏾♀️

Espero que a Sophie seja asiática em aparência e descendência por parte de mãe, mas que o pai seja de outra raça/etnia... isso pra garantir mais diversidade, já que eu vi bem pouquinhos asiáticos lá, mas tbm para justificar o tempo que ele leva pra encontrar ela. Para mim ela não pode parecer com o pai, por mais que no livro eu acho que parece um pouco. Se for que tenha os olhos ou o cabelo do pai só, mas que não seja a cara do pai, se não acho mais fácil da Violet saber de que família ela é.

They couldn't follow the book pattern. Julie Andrews I imagine won't want to keep doing this much longer and my guess is she signed u for 3 seasons and therefore Penelope's story needed to conclude.
I think season 4 will release early 2025 or in December this year.
