@@jodyandamanda you should react to some Japanese metal. The Japanese metal scene is so hot right now. Nemophila 'Style' music video just released 2 hours ago. Or Hanabie 'We Love Sweets' is awesome and weird. Both those bands had their debut albums in 2021.
Or Nemophila has a ton of covers of classic English language songs. I think their Journey cover is especially good. Their Linkin Park cover is awesome too. But you can pick any one. Their vocalist is awesome. Even singing in English. It doesn't hurt that she's absolutely gorgeous either.

Every single time I hear or see this video I get emotional. I was blessed and cursed with a deployment with the Marine Det. At Landstuhl Regional Medical Center as part of the Wounded Warrior Battalion. I spent two years there and during that time we lost too many Marines and Sailors that were critically injured in the war and medivac'd to the hospital. One of my key responsibilities was to care for the families and escort them through the Casualty process. I have witnessed things that will never leave my mind. So, why would I listen or watch? Because the Marines and their families deserve to be remembered for their sacrifice to our country. It hurts but for me, I need to do it and remember. My story besides...One is an amazing song!

Musically, this is one of the greatest songs ever made. What they do with the drums and guitars is next level. Lars Ulrich's double bass pounding starts at 5:46 in your video, and runs nonstop until 8:49, just over three continuous minutes of the most intense drumming you'll ever hear. The fact that the guitars match it beat for beat is what send this song into the stratosphere of the greatest ever. The war message of the lyrics and the video only makes its greatness more apparent, Metalllica always writes with purpose and intention.

This is a soldier that was injured in war. He stepped on a land mine that took his face off. He has no eyes, no mouth no tongue, no arms, no legs, no ears or ear drums to hear. He is kept alive after the war as an experiments and his father later has to parade him around like a carnival attraction to pay for his care. His pain is physical, mental & endless.
The guitar is the pain the drums are his heart the song is his voice begging God to end his misery after he suffered the ravages of war. It's from a book called "Johnny Got His Gun" they wanted to honor soldiers. To use the clips they bought the film about the book which is what you see in the video. You didn't understand the song but few can grasp these deep concepts the first time listen and watch again while you remember the soldiers in your family & community the ones who will face anything to keep you safe.

I've seen the movie and the carnival part was him wanting to be paraded around to show the horrors of war, which came to him in a dream. He actually tells the officers and medical staff this through Morse Code, but they said no. That's when he kept telling them to kill him over and over.

I didn’t watch the master of puppets reaction, just saw the intro in this video where you talk about his voice. Everyone loves early James (the singer) because his voice was more raw and people became accustomed to it. His voice now is fantastic. Any recent performance of “the outlaw torn” and “fade to black” I think you’d prefer.

    • @adamyahya4638
      @adamyahya4638 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

His voice is shot dude, sorry. It's nowhere near what it was in the 89-92 era, not even anywhere near what it was in the 90's. The songs just don't have the same bite, there's too much southern drawl in his live singing now and it just takes away from everything. Sucks that he fucked up his vocal chords back in the early 90's but to say his voice now is fantastic is just being a fanboy (in the worst possible way).

Repost from another comment. "The movie these clips are from is called "Johnny Got His Gun" which is an anti-war film based off of the novel of the same name written by Dalton Trumbo. The story follows the injured man Joe Bonham and his experience with being trapped inside his own head with no way of communicating with the outside world. The main moral conflict being whether to keep him alive, living in his own hell or to grant him the gift of death. He eventually communicates with the doctors using the Morse Code and asks for them to kill him, but they end up ignoring his requests and forced him to remain alive... It is truly some disturbing but very powerful stuff. Highly recommend both the film and the novel."

Joe Bonham, a young American soldier hit by an artillery shell during World War I, lies in a hospital bed. Joe is a quadruple amputee who has also lost his eyes, ears, mouth & nose, plus abilities.
Joe remains conscious and able to reason, but his wounds render him a prisoner in his own body. As Joe drifts between reality and fantasy, he remembers his old life with his family and girlfriend. Joe also forms a bond of sorts with a young nurse who senses his plight from being.
Joe tries to communicate with doctors by morse code by tapping his head, "help" and succeeds.
Joe wishes for the Army to put him in a glass coffin in a freak show as a demonstration of the horrors of war. When told that Joe's wish may be impossible to grant, he responds begging to be euthanized, repeatedly tapping his head "kill me".
Joe ultimately realizes that the Army can't grant either wish and will leave him in a state of living death. Joe's sympathetic nurse attempts to euthanize by clamping his breathing tube, but her supervisor stops her before Joe can succumb to.
Joe realizes that he will never be released from his state of entrapment and he is left alone, weakly chanting, "S.O.S. Help me." over and over.

Waooo!!!....Congratulations my friends Jody and Amanda!! ...I want invite you to give us your opinion, like music lovers, reacting to who is considered the best singer of the world...His name is Dimash Kudaibergen, a young singer who handle 7 octaves and 3 semitones of vocal range (An alien)...He has been singing since he was 5 years (he is 28 now) and he can sing in more than 15 languages...But if you decide to react to Dimash for the first time, please don't do it with his most recent songs ... I recommend that you go to the year 2017 and react to the song that made him a global idol ... I mean the performance he did of the famous French song called "SOS D'un Terrien en Détresse", when he participated in the famous Chinese reality show The Singer in that year 2017 ... With that performance Dimash earned the reputation of being the best singer on the planet, so I recommend you start with that one...You have to be prepared because you are likely to receive a flood of views, comments and new subscribers....And I have to give you a warning: Never react to The World Best videos, because they deceived him and treated him very badly.!...I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Dimash....Here you have the best high quality video of Dimash performing S.O.S. Live 2017.....th-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/w-d-xo.html

Don't worry about the haters.. Everyone has their own taste.. We don't all have to enjoy the same type of music or food or hobby's or whatever. And as far as the lyrics go they are great but most real musicians will not have an issue with you finding your own meaning to songs. Like most artists.. Most artists don't write meanings and instructions on their masterpieces and enforce the way their art makes other people feel or think.

The ONLY stupid or wrong thing Metallica did on the four first albums was to put that voice-over on the ‘One‘ video. I know they were hesitant to make a video, but that voice-over ruined it. Everything else is perfect in my ears, every bar, ever drum fill.. it could not be anything else to me, but the voice-over on the video.. wtf r u doin? I can’t even understand what he is saying half of the time.
