- This myth busting film challenges the belief that people with a learning disability can’t do many of the things that others take for granted. It aims to dispel those myths and shows how they can can live life to the full. The film is one of four parts and looks at living independently.
The film shows how society should treat people with a learning disability with dignity and respect, both in everyday living, when at work, out socially and when in a relationship. It also highlights the great achievements people have done when given the power to make their own choices around how they want to live their lives.
We want people with a learning disability to be accepted as valued members of society, individuals who are able to makes decisions about themselves, provide the right support at the right time if needed and live as fulfilled life as possible.
The desired outcome for the making of this film is that all of those false assumptions will be dispelled after watching this truly inspirational film. That people with a learning disability will be able to get a job, live independently, have a relationship and go out and about in the community safely.
We hope you enjoy the film and would appreciate any feedback you may have.
