Wow, what a beautiful area! I just love that part of the Southwest! I have to put that campground on my list to visit for sure. This video is making me want to jump in my camper and go😀~
Thanks Mark for sharing this place, it was a fav of mine, stayed 2 nights. the only cons to the place was the wind but it usually came in the afternoon, the sights & nature walk are outstanding! and if you use your national parks pass, its half price also, which mean full electric site for $9 and a tent camp site for $3.50, with all amenities like hot showers, flush toilets etc, cant beat it! a hidden treasure
The wind did come up in the afternoon, but the beauty of the area made it all worth it! I love my access pass, can't beat half off with pretty much full hook ups. Thanks for the Mention!
24 tonight in Mississippi!!Brrr. You have the set up Mark !! I know you been working on it a while, I have read good things about the Transalp 750. Be safe and Enjoy sir
It's been a while in the making. It has taken a lot of research and planning. Stay warm! I love my Transalp. I can keep up on the interstate and also ride back roads.
It's a cool part of the state. A great place to explore! I was going to check out Cosmic Campground, but with the cold front moving in, I opted to head into Arizona earlier than planned. LOL Maybe next time.
This is one of our favorite cg's. We're from Florida and every time we head out west, we stop by and spend a couple of days here. We like spot 19, which is a dry spot.
We went there on the way to my inlaws. Dontvwantvto fall into that with shorts on. Summer also is a problem with rattle snakes in the rocks but otherwise ita an amazing place. Not much like it in the US
Great place and fantastic showers. If your just roaming around head straight east to Roswell then north a little to Haystack Mountain off highway vehicle area. Great area for your motorcycle.
Nice place. I like the last camp spot, I could back right in there 👍🏼 unless it’s tent only 🤷🏼♂️ The lava flow is neat to see. Prices are not bad with the amenities they offer.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s a great spot to get away and explore the Lava. The last spot was tent only. There were about 5 of them lined up there. I really liked the tent spots.
@@DispersedCamperMan Do you actually get half off though? I've looked at some federal camping areas where the camping fee would be like $25, but that price was really a small base camping fee with several surcharges. So your half off would only get you half off $6 or $8, not half off $25.
Nice spot Mark, kinda like some of the lava flows in Oregon. Just wondering, do you plan on making it to the Manti La Sal National Forest area again on this trip ?? I thought that place was really beautiful ! Take it easy Air Force and have fun ! Kenny C Oregon 🙂🙂
Utah is a little bit to cold for me right now. I'm not planning on going in that direction this year. Maybe next. The La Sal Mountains were crazy beautiful area. I loved it there.
Always like stopping there on my way to dispersed camping in Ruidoso.
I can see why. Loved that spot!
I live here and it’s nasty weather this week. Best head south young man!
I’ve already headed south. Didn’t want no part of what was coming. :-).
Wow, what a beautiful area! I just love that part of the Southwest! I have to put that campground on my list to visit for sure. This video is making me want to jump in my camper and go😀~
I hope you get to go there soon! It’s a great spot!

I was just there in November. Couple nights, nice place. Great stars. I found it by just driving up there to look around.
It is a great place to get away and see the stars.
Great video Mark. For those interested, Malpais is pronounced "Mall pie eez". Glad to see you are out wandering around the SW USA this time of year.
I love exploring the Southwest this time of year.
Good your out West, supposed to get several inches snow next couple days here. Be safe.
Loving the weather here!
What a beautiful recreational area and campground. Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
It’s a great place to get away and check out the lava field, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Excellent camp ground and travel resting spot !
It is. I love the way they have it all set up.
Speechless! Another awesome spot! And Lava! Very interesting!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s really a unique spot in New Mexico.
LOVED it here!!!! So glad you did this video. I’ve been yearning to go back again 💕💕💕
I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s a great spot to explore and learn about the Lava. I loved the five days I stayed there.

17 in Tennessee. It sucks.

Head West!
Nice video BTW!
I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video. I was there last April on my way to the Cosmic Campgrounds near Glenwood, NM.

It's a pretty unique place!
Thanks for sharing. Nice place!
It was. Great spot to check out.
Nice campground. Carrizozo is a nice town with places to eat, get gas, purchase crafts from locals and more.
Carrizozo is a great place to spend a day or two.
Great place and fantastic showers.
If your just roaming around head straight east to Roswell then north a little to Haystack Mountain off highway vehicle area. Great area for your motorcycle.
Haystack Mountain looks like it's all mostly Navajo nation land. What are the rules camping/riding out there?

I like this campground, especially the prices for water and electric and dump. You'll get spoiled.
It was one of the nicest campgrounds I've been in for the price.
I'll bet its warmer there than the 9 degrees central Missouri is enjoying this evening.
Missouri is both the coldest and hottest place I've ever seen. It's a mystery.
@@jshepard152 We certainly get all 4 seasons. We had a really nice, mild summer this year and a nice long fall to boot.
I left soon after to beat the arctic cold rolling in. I’m in southern Arizona now. Highs 60’s Lows 30’s.

How long will you be in NM? I'll be there in a couple weeks.
I've already moved into Arizona. A cold front was rolling in so I opted to leave NM earlier than planed. Safe Travels.
Is this campground free? 14 day stay?
Not free. $18 a night water electric.
Half off with pass ..you mean National Park Pass?
@@DispersedCamperManlol. I should have waited til later in the video and read sign!
Access Pass is the one I got. Half off can't beat that! I stayed five nights. Loved it.
