I can't thank you enough for preparing and posting this tutorial! The dealer told me that the module was on national backorder, so it would be several months before they could fix Jeep. Your video gave me the courage to locate the part, install it, and program it myself. You saved me a ton of money and I have the full use of my Jeep again.

@@longhornhamilton44 love that! Yes, it’s very easy and saves you so much money! A little tip too… there’s professional companies that repair old modules as well. Now that you have the old module out, you can send it in to get repaired and when the new one inevitably fails, you’ll have a spare ready to go. Bonus is that you won’t have to re-flash since it’s already programmed to your vin! And no more waiting for back orders, I personally have mine in the garage for a rainy day as well lol!

Thank you for helping people in this predicament! I have a 09 challenger that I replaced the abs module in and went through all Intialization tests then scan froze and ABS light and beeping began. Upon driving home from mall parking lot brake, bas esp eng lights cleared up! Now I m stuck with this constant beeping & abs light blinking! The dealer says you have to have new module flashed to clear the blinking & beeping! Of course this could take a day up to a week before they could get to it and price of flashing is $160 ! I think I’m gonna try your method 1st! $55 sounds a lot better to me!

My Jeep would do the same exact beeping and flashing on the dash. It took me about 5 tries to get the initialization to complete successfully. Sometimes the flashing process is just a bit picky!

Do you have to remap the Jeep if you have a lift, big tires, different gear ratios, etc?

Not to my knowledge, no. However, if you mess around with the JScan app, there’s a lot of features that you can utilize to make your driving more comfortable. For example, bigger tire sizes will make your speedometer inaccurate. So I recommend adjusting the tire size with the JScan app to get an accurate reading.

I'm thinking about sending mine off and having it repaired since finding one will be hard. If I send my module off can I still drive the jeep until module comes back in? I'm glad I found your video I've been trying to find out about jscan flashing it.

Removing the ABS module will cause the loss of ABS, ESP, BAS, and ERM. Additionally, your speedometer will stop working and the automatic transmission stops shifting because it needs a Vehicle Speed Signal which is generated by the ABS module in coordination with your wheel speed sensors. Overall, it is highly not recommended to operate the vehicle without an ABS module. Sending in your ABS module for repair is good alternative however you need to be ready to have the Jeep inoperable while the module is getting repaired. On the bright side, I have heard that you do not have to re-program or flash the module if it is only repaired. If the Jeep still drives and you absolutely need it as your daily driver, I would recommend getting a new module and wait it out so you don’t lose your transportation. Hope this helps, and yes it sucks. I had to drive for 8 months with all my lights on until I received my module.

Hey, I recommend scanning your car first to see what trouble codes you have. That should point you in the right direction. If your cars overheating I would check for any leaks, bad thermostat, or air trapped in the system. Good luck

Did this bad abs affect your speedometer from working
Thanks if you have time to answer

It did not, normally a faulty Speedo means bad wheel speed sensors. There’s one on each wheel and they’re really easy to replace. Hard part is finding out which is the bad one. But you can figure it out with a normal OBD II scanner
