- Metal detecting at an old swimming hole and river crossing. Mike and I return to the river where we found so many interesting artifacts on our last trip. Today we find silver coins, old U.S. Large Cents, buttons, copper coins galore, and things so interesting and numerous to mention. I hope you join us!

It sure looked like the large cebt that you dropped back in the water was a different color than the one that you brought back up. Interesting. Maybe there was a 2nd one.
Epaulets, buckles, bullets ,gold coins, artillery ordenace but a few spurs...wonder why?.
Warning! Chigg will tell you to hold your breath, but won’t tell you when to breathe again. I passed out three times watching this video.😅 Anyway, nice finds guys. This was a fun one. Thanks for taking us along.

The small piece of metal with the wooden handle is part of a fishing reel.

The wood and metal thing at 9:36 is the end to a wood sucker rod for pumping a well. That one is bigger than most.

this was the best video ever and flat buttons are dated to 1790's-1820's
The strange Civil War bullet that you found is a Confederate bore cleaning around. There's a piece missing off the back that look like a round table top and when the round was fired it cleaned the bore of the rifle, black powder was very dirty

Water will still be a little high because of the snow pack.. But! Lots of record flooding moving alot of gold. Should be good. I got a trip coming up. Oregon Lode stuff.

That is how we detect for gold in CA. Check the crevices. Once you hit the heavies, lead/iron, you will also be on the gold.

That lock plate is left handed maybe a shotgun plate if I remember the rebs cav carry shot guns
The RFD on the lock stands for “rural free delivery” - it’s a rural postal box lock
That coin dates back 120k years when the 🌎 was much warmer.

At 7:15 that appears to be part of a handle from a modern spin cast fishing reel.
Im thinking the wood/metal item could be a tiller arm for a sailboat or barge. It looks close to the ones ive seen
The RFD lock is from a mailbox. My grandmother had one in a jar of "goodies" when I was a kid back in the 60s.
that long wood thing was very reminiscent of a rifle stock complete with barrel band on the end.

The odd bullet you found is in fact a modern muzzle load bullet. I still hunt deer with one. Also, I thought you didn't need a cap on your pinpointer because you do dig with it. Lol

The lock is a postal lock "rfd" means rural free delivery..
Rural Free Delivery is the lock Mail box lock.
Liquid Electrical Tape on the pin pointer tip? I suggested that a few weeks ago. Works great.
