I never tire of the Cathedrals - regardless of the lineup. They never had a bad one, but this one is responsible for some of my favorite songs from their catalog. I wish the video had greater resolution, but all in all - a great show and a great listen.
I think what got me and thos is not to say this concert wasn't good, was Mark Trammell's comments. He got saved a couple months prior to this concert at a golf course in Oklahoma.
I've seen the Cathedrals live about 10 times and they are beyond excellent!! They used to come to our church, Gilead Baptist in Taylor, Michigan, every New Year's Eve. I have their DVDs and CDs too.
I’m gonna have a take that’s probably unpopular, but I mean all of the tenors that the cathedrals had were great don’t get me wrong, but I personally think that Ernie is better than Danny. I don’t know there’s just something about Ernie‘s voice that I like Danny has a good voice, but there’s just something that, I can’t explain it. It just kind of bugs me a little bit.
my take on your comment is that there are very few people who sang SG music professionally in the 80's and 90's who would agree with you. Ernie, while being a fantastic tenor, sang under the pitch regularly the last few years the Cathedrals toured. Danny rarely ever sang off pitch. The Cathderals also started using stacked vocal tracks in the 90s, something Danny and Kirk never had the benefit of in the 80's.
The very peak of the golden era of Gospel Music.
The best Cathedrals lineup ever.
Gerald Woof is the best singer ever heard I love to hear this guy singing playing anytime ❤❤❤❤❤

It's definitely a matter of taste. I love Dannys voice because no one has the same texture of voice. Ernie sounds more normal although excellent .
@@dandubbeld4305 I see your point
