      Hear you, but disagree. He wasn't as good as advertised, be it through injuries or lack of chemistry with his teams. Nice in MIL but notsomuch in ATL or CHI. Everyone can't be Kobe, desire-wise, but, as in putting in effort, intention, and desire when playing Defense, the so-called "Mamba Mentality", to a degree, applies. This guy was way better than Wiggins, talent-wise, but he def didn't want to be a Superstar -- just wanted to Hoop. Not good enough with his level of skill and ability, plus the hype he was getting should have sealed the deal. Not so, and so injuries did their thing. Too bad, but can't criticize other than to say he didn't get it done.

    Man I remember when he was drafted and he was considered the future of the Bucks; in fact, iirc he was their PF and Giannis their SF. He had the blue chip background, the more pro-ready game, and the tear-your-head-off mentality needed to thrive in the pros. In short, he was then what the Bucks were hoping Giannis would be and is now, sadly.

    • @darshloaf
      @darshloaf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Had that attack mentality on offense you mentioned, but never saw defense as important & never came close to Giannis as far as the drive to get in tip-top shape (which, to be fair, very few are like Giannis in that regard). I'm far from giving up on Zion Williamson, but in recent years Duke kids seem to have this "I've already made it" mentality coming into the league & need time to develop an NBA-level work ethic. Jalil Okafor never found it, Zion evidently needs to, Kyrie arguably never had it, but is just so talented & played w/ LeBron long enough to become a star.

    JP was real nice! I was really excited for this kid when he came into the NBA. This is just one of the Greg Oden type of situations where it really wasn't their 'fault' that they did not get to the levels they should have gotten to. But, he still was able to make to the league and make some good money playing the game he loved so he may not have had the NBA career we were all think he would have but in life he is doing pretty darn good! Big ups to Jabari! Also, this kid had that smile that makes this seem even more tragic. There was an innocence to it.

    WITHOUT A DOUBT.. Jabari was always and would still be better than Wigg if it wasn’t for the injuries. He was a bucket, a leader, coachable and willing to learn/grow. Since 8th grade Jabari was in the spotlight as one of the best players in the nation. He was definitely built for the league with NBA pedigree.
    Was set up to be the Bucks franchise cornerstone before Giannis and it just never panned out. His ability to stay on the court and physically compete is the issue. Being able to produce isn’t the problem. It’s just hard to defend and play impactful minutes when your body can’t keep up.

    Parker was “chubby” because of his genetics. He’s half Tongan, just like Steven Adams. If you look into the genetics of Tongans, their body holds and builds muscle very well, but they also hold fat just as well. Tongans bones are also very very dense, in fact I would probably say that they have the densest bones of any other race, as a group of course. I don’t remember what his injuries were, but sure it was a ligament issue.

From the best nba prospect the Philippines ever had to being mismanaged by his team by not going to college and choosing the gleague ignite route, then fumbles that opportunity by choosing to play for the national team (games cancelled) which caused him his gleague stint and a bunch of bad decisions that led him still pursuing his nba dreams in the NBL.

    Should probably mention that he’s been called a VERY bad defender at every stop. People don’t give up on him just because

    I think it’s also due to mentality, on the bulls he truly believed he didn’t have to play defense because it wasn’t his role. At that moment I questioned why his coach even let him think that way to begin with, so it wasn’t surprising that his minutes decreased when they got a defensive focused coach(although In the end that coach was bad for the team in general). He wasn’t that great on defense to begin with but you couldn’t deny he had a nice offensive game to keep him afloat. Unfortunately getting acl injures on the same leg is just a backbreaking set back in any athletic career.

    It’s something in that Chicago water that makes most of these guys injury prone, Jabari, Okafor, Drose, Anthony Davis

    Man I hate the term bust. The fact that guys got the shot at their dream is success. Many regular folks will NEVER have a shot like the NBA. TBH the majority of sports fans could have a stunted growth of our lives. With that, love the way your content is presented. Its with respect to the players and the game.

    Hey bro love your channel and content. I know this might sound crazy but could you do a stunted growth on Michael Jordan? I know that will blow folks mind. MJ could have won more rings had he played longer.

    Great video. Agree with everything. Gonna leave little notes I see
    In my opinion his biggest growth stunt was him playing like a wirey wingman than either like a Draymon green with a jumper or like you said a better Carmelo Anthony. His play style definitely didn't fit his body type. Hopefully he can get back to playing shape.

    Salute to Chicago's very own Jabari Parker. Injuries play a key role in his Career but I would not consider him a bust . The " MEDIA" and Fans put Unrealistic expectations on players comparing them to superstar before they make a mark in the league. at 27 He can still play a role on a team it's about finding a situation that fits. #intellectuallyIgnorant #chicagomade

    I think he'd do decent in Europe, perhaps even experience a revival like Derrick Williams. His defense isn't great, but as a versatile scoring four he could help out a team for sure.
