If you have headphones, throw them on during the driving part to enhance the experience! I recorded the audio with binaural microphones!

That's my idea of heaven...I've been a Porsche fan since I was a kid. The whale tails of the late 70's fascinated me.

The Porsche 718 is an amazing car. Used 2017 ones can be found at reasonable prices. PDK transmission is fantastic, but I enjoy the manual six for more engagement.

Excellent content, Forrest. I have long loved the Cayman and I am planning to purchase a GTS 4.0 at some point int he future. Nothing beats the natural balance of the 718 chassis with the sonorous flat 6 engine. Great work!

Yes! I wish I would have driven the 4.0! This turbo four sounded surprisingly incredible so I know the six will just sing!

@@forrestsautoreviewsofficial Unlike all the haters, I think the turbo 4 sounds and performs great, but if I'm going to spend this much on my dream car, may as well go for the 4.0.

D LG Agreed. It sounded amazing when I drove it, not sure why there is so much hate towards it?

I had a blast at the Atlanta track a couple years ago!! Inspired my dad to get a new 911 months later. I waited a year to get my Cayman S. I’ll drive it until I die!

The only Porsche I have ever driven so far is a 1977 924 when I was in high school honestly can't wait to go to Carson, at least that's where I think where it's at in California. Thank you for the great video

Hi! How did you prompt the camera up during the driving part? I'm going to PECLA this year for my parents, and want to be able to film! Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I can't remember the brand but yes, it fogs up my glasses. Almost every mask does. I got it at a CVS haha.

Great driving experience....smart that they don't??? let you out on the track by yourself. True?
Did JIMMY RUSSELL Formula 1 with Sports Illustrated at Bridgehampton where we were turned loose...separated by 30 seconds between the 10 cars participating.
Wow...now need to do with my 17 911 Carrera.
    Thanks, nice video.

So this place is a lot of fun but be VERY careful with the driving experiences, we were charged $2,500!! extra for 'damage' to the vehicle.Paid $650 x 3 for a 911 driving experience and got the extra $50 damage waiver but they still charged us extra for damage.
I challenged on my credit card but thought the whole process was pretty shady if you ask me.Took my dad and brother here for my dad's birthday and we each had our own car and instructor who starts in the car with you. When it came time to do the laps on the course, my instructor Alessio told me they were out of cars for him to drive so I wasn't able to follow him (seems like a big issue if they don't have enough cars for instructors). Instead, we rode together and he coached me. First major issue since it is much easier to follow another professional driver.
Not once did they mention anything about potential damage/liability/things to watch out for/etc. If anything, they really encourage you to have fun, drive fast, take the car to the limit, etc. Which is awesome until, you have an issue...So I came around a turn at the end of the circuit and just slid off the track 2-3 feet into the loose gravel and apparently, this is what caused 'thousands of dollars in damage'. Even though, there was no visible or noticeable damage and they never provided any before photos of the car. Crazy.
This was not a total crash or anything serious, I literally just slid off a few feet into the gravel and boom, huge issue. We ended up switching cars after this and it was much easier to follow the instructor on his lines and go fast/etc. Obviously, I wasn't driving crazy since they gave me another car. The whole time, my instructor made it seem like it wasn't a big deal, and my brother's instructor also said that they don't usually charge for single wheel rim damage or anything cosmetic.. yet apparently today they did.
What's worse is that after the 'accident', they usher you into a room by yourself and make you fill out all this paperwork without giving any guidance or explanation. Make it seem like you are in huge trouble. Kind of ruined the whole day if you ask me..If you're gonna do this, just make sure you get the damage waiver and are very careful with your driving, you do not want to go off track by even a foot or they'll slam you with thousands of dollars.

You went off the track and damaged the vehicle. Pretty plain and simple. Also you should probably read what you’re signing, I know I did when I signed up. Own up to it dude, you were driving beyond your ability and didn’t think you’d be charged. No one’s fault but your own.
