    Thanks Ben for this update. Question: with the time extension, do you recommend extending the time allocated for running your campaign to at least 2 weeks for a brand new campaign? Often we are recommended to start with a small budget for approximately 10 days when launching a new campaign; with the info you shared in this video, it sounds like the initial testing window should be extended as well, by at least 7 days. Your thoughts? It'd be great if you could do a video on this as well. Thanks!

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You are very welcome.
      Yes that's spot on. I think extending initial testing timeframes post iOS 14 makes a lot of sense for a number of reasons. Including Facebook's attribution setting changes.

    Hi Ben, thanks for this great video. Am wondering if I should optimize for 7 day click for short burst campaigns that are < 7 Days? Technically if I optimize for an audience that’s likely to take action after 7 days, my campaign would be over by then no?

  • @shaunm382

    Great video! We've done similar tests and 7 day click and 1 day view is still working the best for my clients, but it's so important to test. Totally agree on the 1 day click though, data has not been anywhere near as accurate as 7 day click.

    Super helpful, Ben! I've just begun doing Facebook Ads and I set up a campaign 5 days ago. Thanks Ben. Your video Which Facebook ATTRIBUTION SETTING Should You Use? answered a few questions for me. I'm still new to FB ads and I might have been tempted to pull an ad. after only 7 days if it wasn't delivering any sales. I now thing a minimum of 10 - 14 days is a more realistic time scale unless the figures look bad across the board. I smile when I hear your comment about 3K budget when I'm fretting on making sales on a £6 per day campaign. Little acorns they say.😂😀

      Yes I think that is certainly a smart approach - particularly after iOS 14.

    I was wondering what is the best thing to do if some of my ads are being disapproved in an ad group and in a campaign. I have already tried duplicating the ad and creating a new ad in the same ad group. But I think it would be better to create a whole new ad group with the same criteria or even a new campaign. Thanks Ben for this amazing video, well they say that 1day click is used to target people who make actions on their first day ( instant actions ) and 7 days click to target those who enter your website and see the product then leave it and think if they gonna buy it or not ( delayed actions ) it take them 7 days average to take actions. is that right? and they said that when you're testing a low ticket product you should go with 1day click and for high ticket product you shod use 7day click. last question what's the best option for dropshippers? thanks a lot Ben we really appreciate your videos man 🙌🏻

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thank you very much :)
      No that's not right. Facebook isn't targeting people that take an average of 7 days to convert with the 7 day click option. Only a small percentage of people take exactly 7 days to convert. Facebook is targeting people that are likely to convert within a 7 day period with that option - that's a very different thing. So that could be people that convert in 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, etc.
      From what we can see, there are real issues with 1 day click data being modelled and inaccurate. Post iOS 14 the set up here has really changed. Facebook doesn't even have the data on 1 day clickers until at least 24 hours after they take your desired action. I'd recommend going with 7 day click.

      @RDA8191 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On my website, where my brand sells "low ticket" stuff ($30-90), only about half of conversions are from first time visits. The other half are people who have been to our site multiple times over days or weeks, so I'd imagine 7 day is much better

But then it has not sold anything in 3days. i.e. you have spent 100$ and no purchases, should you still let it run to the end? My question being, does facebook learn from the not selling days and improve performance after? or there is no hope and should the ad be shut off without it completing the 7days running time? Hope you find my message. This is almost a year exactly after you publishing the video.

    Hi Ben - another very useful video, thanks. Have you done a video on FB/IG pricing for ads? It seems confusing. The only info I can gather is that you pay about US$7 per 1000 impressions. Or alternatively about $2 per click. But the ad I am running didn't give me that option. It just gave me impressions and has, so far, charged $155 for 3,600 people reached (is that the same as impressions?) As you can see, I am in the dark. Maybe there's something on this in one of your videos?

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Damon, I have done a bunch of videos on that topic. The issue with any benchmark is that is varies massively. If you advertise in the US with a conversions campaign for example, you'll almost certainly be many many times higher than $7 CPM. But other locations, campaign objectives you could see less than that.

    • @BenHeath
      @BenHeath  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using the conversions API will help but it doesn't change my recommendation around Facebook attribution settings. You are still going to see a lot of modelled data with 1-day click as the conversions API does not make up for the data lost due the iOS 14 changes.

    should the conversion event still be at purchase? since the attribution setting is delayed.

      Yes :) In fact it's even more important because of the way the prioritization works

    Hi Ben. I'm testing products for 3-days. Is it okay for me to set an attribution 7-day click window and test the product for 7-days due to lowering the daily budget in two?

      Yes and I would recommend extending that timeframe.

    why not both ?

      Good question - the issue is that you’d end up with competing campaigns or ad sets (assuming you are targeting the same people). Plus one is nearly always going to produce better results and you’ll want to optimise by going with that option.

    How can we get commerce account approved in 2021?, it won't get approved easily as before.

    • @BenHeath

      Are you trying to create a new ad account with a new Facebook profile. Facebook doesn't usually let people do so with brand new profiles and you may have to wait a while if that's the case.

      @@BenHeath No the ad account is older and Facebook profile is also very old. Although I have got accounts approved for many clients before. But after April 2021 accounts are getting rejected straight even they fully comply with their commerce policies

      Hmmm that is strange. I'd try jumping on chat with Facebook support and see if there is a black mark against your BM or something like that.

      No that's true - we aren't seeing issues like that with our clients. It certainly can happen but it isn't happening for everyone and hopefully you'll be up and running soon.
