The problem with Taliesins story was that it was just so perfectly complicated that it was impossible for anyone to remember it, even himself since he had to read it, and because of that all of the original detail was gone after the second iteration. He was literally a victim of his own success

It’s so adorable how Matt is an absolute powerhouse as a DM who can hold a completely immersive dramatic conversation between multiple NPCs during regular critical role, but when he’s just Matt he’s just a dork like the rest of us and every time he makes a joke he looks at Marisha hoping she laughs.

maybe it's because I also have ADHD, but this felt like the easiest story to follow. like it's muscles, macaroni, then the arena fight. a beautiful three act structure.
We’ve had foreign language from Liam, alliteration from Tal, complicated details from Laura, a musical number from Sam, and Ashley pretending that information was forgotten... But Travis, in a show of complete improv, managed to destroy EVERYONE with his secret ingredient: Chaos! When he left to turn into Macaroni I was so shocked and confused I forgot half of the story, it worked so well. Also Laura bailing was the FUNNIEST THING, I was dying of laughter. I need season 2, ASAP. We need Matt to do a Kiri story because that has such a potential to cause absolute annihilation with her story told through secondhand quotes 😂

The funny thing is that Matt doesn't need to do any of that. He just needs to tell the story as someone that he knows will break them, like that Zorth guy, or Victor with Liam going second..
Ashley acting as if she did nothing when they cited all of the ways to make stories difficult... I remember she was the one that put an "I forgot to tell you about..." in her original story. That was one of the most devilish things anybody did, up there with the aliterations.
Matt's new story will be him as Allura telling the world about the members of the tal'dorei council who died recently due to unfortunate accidents (one dying every time the cast asks who's on the council)
I think that's why the rest had trouble remembering it. With some sort of planned structure, it's not as difficult to extrapolate a likely follow up. When it's completely improvised, your brain can't lock on to a pattern.

he's also low-key evil. He's this cute, power house, who is secretly planning something. The hints are in his Spirit Guardians being necrotic because he's evil, and in Travis hinting at him trying to take over in this NT. Love him.
For once it didn’t fall apart at 3rd, real proud of Matt. Also I find it both impressive and very funny that Travis pretty much made up his whole story on the spot.
The falling apart was more like a slope from the start to the end instead of it immediately falling and staying the same level of insanity for the rest.
It fell apart at 2nd, so thats probably not an improvement. Marisha dropped the entire point of Macaroni, which never recovered. Apparently screaming at the television, impacted her ability to hear, and remember.
Travis: *does a proper transition between two characters and acts it out flawlessly* Sam: *doesn't even leave the frame entirely before switching characters*
ashley seemed so relieved when she finally managed to steer the conversation away from stonejaw only for sams video to come in like: "HOLD IT! .. OBJECTION!"
I love how Sam's renditions have evolved from riffing his own story off what he heard to being super accurate yet still absolutely roasting the rest of the cast
Man, Sam knew, and really could have righted the ship, but stuck with it for comedy. haha I was so happy when Laura started to course correct, then remembered what she heard. =(
Ashley has always called him Grog Stonejaw to the point I think that she actually thinks that's his name.. in the early C1 intros when Pike's talking about Grog's tribe she calls him Stonejaw then too

On the next Narrative Telephone, they should have the next persons reaction in a small window. Cause I would have loved seeing everyone's first reaction to the previous video.
This goes to show you don't need alliteration, foreign languages, numerology, or a long list of difficult character names. It may be even funnier when a simple character monologue still turns to mush. Anyway I love this series, and I look forward to ya'll coming back to it eventually. It's one of my favorite things on TH-cam.

I love how they all reacted to Ashley saying 'Stonejaw' when at the start of campaign 1 in Pike's backstory she also called him Stonejaw. I recently started C1 so that's fresh in my mind xD

Can we just talk about how when cast was watching Laura's and she starts blanking and then laughs. This whole time I thought it was Laura's laugh but it was actually Ashley laughing and it was in sync with Laura's silent laugh and made it look like hers.

Exactly. Matt explicitly said he wants to do one so he can fuck with everyone now that he's seen what they pulled on each other. Travis pulling in a second speaking character *right before* Matt having another go next time is just begging to open the floodgates on all the NPCs Matt has stored up within him. I agree about having Delilah and Sylas, perhaps Ripley as well. Those were three of my favorite villains from the first campaign and I'd love to see more with them.
Can you imagine how effed up a story that would be? Silas and Delilah Briarwood ft. Ripley telling a story about how they took over Whitestone and killed the entire de Rolo family? (Alternatively, I'd actually like a story about how Silas and Delilah met and fell in love. That'd be pretty neat)

The falling apart was more like a slope from the start to the end instead of it immediately falling and staying the same level of insanity for the rest.
It fell apart at 2nd, so thats probably not an improvement. Marisha dropped the entire point of Macaroni, which never recovered. Apparently screaming at the television, impacted her ability to hear, and remember.

Yeah and they've discussed it in the past, too (if I remember correctly, Travis came up with Stonejaw first), so I was surprised at their shock over it.

Can we just talk about how when cast was watching Laura's and she starts blanking and then laughs. This whole time I thought it was Laura's laugh but it was actually Ashley laughing and it was in sync with Laura's silent laugh and made it look like hers.
Am I the only one who sometimes forgets these people are voice actors and then Matt and Liam go and pull off both Grog and Macaroni Samsonite near perfectly, almost as if just to blow my mind?

I think one of the beeeeest and interesting parts about this is... at no point does Travis as Grog eeeeever swing his Axe in the original story.

And on that note, the closest Grog even got to being angry was swearing at Macaroni Samsonite. Grog was in good humour almost throughout, but most folks' retelling was just "GROG IS MADE OF RAGE"

Exactly. Matt explicitly said he wants to do one so he can fuck with everyone now that he's seen what they pulled on each other. Travis pulling in a second speaking character *right before* Matt having another go next time is just begging to open the floodgates on all the NPCs Matt has stored up within him. I agree about having Delilah and Sylas, perhaps Ripley as well. Those were three of my favorite villains from the first campaign and I'd love to see more with them.
Can you imagine how effed up a story that would be? Silas and Delilah Briarwood ft. Ripley telling a story about how they took over Whitestone and killed the entire de Rolo family?
(Alternatively, I'd actually like a story about how Silas and Delilah met and fell in love. That'd be pretty neat)
