The fact that Taliesin worked so hard to break the cast with his story, but all it took was Travis Willingham's improvised vlog to completely throw everyone into chaos XD
It's hilarious that this one of all stories was the one to completely break them
The problem with Taliesins story was that it was just so perfectly complicated that it was impossible for anyone to remember it, even himself since he had to read it, and because of that all of the original detail was gone after the second iteration. He was literally a victim of his own success
That's kind of the genius of it. He knows that everything is just going to devolve into chaos because everyone is going to build off of beats, so he just started everything off by building off of beats.
Well Taliesin made it only hard for the 2. spot with his lingual mess, which was funny but did not right hit the mark, sadly.
I mean, what's more chaotic than just making it up as you go?
I love Travis trying to be supportive of Ashley getting into the Grog voice, and then just being absolutely scandalized at _STONEjaw_

He ended up being a really great final boss.
The old bait and switch when Grog starts, Macaroni sneaks in but gets chased off with Grog finishing.
The last story from Matt is gonna be so much murder for the crew.... I cam imagine it jumping from Gilmore to Viktor, and even raishan with so many languages, and tons of alliteration

It’s so adorable how Matt is an absolute powerhouse as a DM who can hold a completely immersive dramatic conversation between multiple NPCs during regular critical role, but when he’s just Matt he’s just a dork like the rest of us and every time he makes a joke he looks at Marisha hoping she laughs.

We’ve had foreign language from Liam, alliteration from Tal, complicated details from Laura, a musical number from Sam, and Ashley pretending that information was forgotten...
But Travis, in a show of complete improv, managed to destroy EVERYONE with his secret ingredient: Chaos! When he left to turn into Macaroni I was so shocked and confused I forgot half of the story, it worked so well.
Also Laura bailing was the FUNNIEST THING, I was dying of laughter. I need season 2, ASAP. We need Matt to do a Kiri story because that has such a potential to cause absolute annihilation with her story told through secondhand quotes 😂

I think that's why the rest had trouble remembering it. With some sort of planned structure, it's not as difficult to extrapolate a likely follow up. When it's completely improvised, your brain can't lock on to a pattern.
Alternate title: Grog tries to do multiple consecutive takes of the same fitness vlog while getting progressively drunker.

Ashley acting as if she did nothing when they cited all of the ways to make stories difficult... I remember she was the one that put an "I forgot to tell you about..." in her original story. That was one of the most devilish things anybody did, up there with the aliterations.
Specifically, an intentional "I forgot" _and_ following that up with _not_ telling the thing she forgot about.
I love how everyone is in a random room at their house, except for Ashley, who is apparently in my trapper keeper from 1994.
I love the idea that Grog doesn't know the ABCs and can't count but knows every single muscle in the human body, where it is, and what it does.🤣

Grog’s narrative telephone would always be the most chaotic one, considering how Grog himself probably won’t remember much of what he said.

Matt's vengeance is just gonna be a dozen NPCs recounting the most convoluted story ever with alliteration in multiple languages.
All members of the Tal'Dorei Council retelling what has happened in the twenty-ish years between the campaigns, talking over each other and arguing about details. And Matt gives no indication on who's speaking when apart from changing accents.

Alright, listen up, Grog Strongjaw here today to talk to you about the importance of health and fitness. Now a lot of people come to me and they go “Grog, you have an amazing body, how do you do it?”
And I go “well, like listen, all you gotta know is the entire anatomy and musculature of the human body. So let’s start with the upper body. Right there’s mirror muscles, so you’ve got your traps, your deltoids, your pectorals, your biceps, your triceps, your lats, your abdominals and of course your obliques. All very easy to remember.”
And they’re like “how can I work out all of those muscle groups in one easy way?”
And I say “ you grab your axe and you reach back and... hey, wait a minute there, I didn’t know there was anymore ale. I want some.”
*panting*
“What a dummy, leaving such an amazing communication device behind. Macaroni Samsonite here, me and my pal buddy are going to take over all of Tal'dorei under the guise of the Darrington Brigade. But first... oh shit”
“Hey get away from there you little weasel, dinglebat, piece of shit. Oh hi... erm what was I talking about. Oh that’s right, my victory at the crucible in Vasselheim, against Kern, piece of shit. It may be even funnier when a simple character monologue still turns to mush. Anyway I love this series, and I look forward to ya'll coming back to it eventually. Now that Travis has opened up the possibility of playing multiple characters in the same Narrative Telephone, I hope so much that Taliesin just straight up gives us a Percy vs Mollymauk Rap Battle

I would love for Matt to tell a Zorth story. Maybe how he lost his arms, or Moorbounder training, anything by that character really.

Honestly I’m so used to hearing Liam doing mostly accented based stuff like his English and German accents, hearing Grog so accurately blew my mind. They’re all so talented
Can we just talk about how when cast was watching Laura's and she starts blanking and then laughs. This whole time I thought it was Laura's laugh but it was actually Ashley laughing and it was in sync with Laura's silent laugh and made it look like hers.
Ashley's never fails in making me cry with laughter.
For once it didn’t fall apart at 3rd, real proud of Matt. Also I find it both impressive and very funny that Travis pretty much made up his whole story on the spot.

The falling apart was more like a slope from the start to the end instead of it immediately falling and staying the same level of insanity for the rest.
It fell apart at 2nd, so thats probably not an improvement. Marisha dropped the entire point of Macaroni, which never recovered. Apparently screaming at the television, impacted her ability to hear, and remember.

You know, this episode makes me want Matt to run a mindswitching one shot where the members of either the Mighty Nein or Vox Machina get mind swapped, and the players have to randomly exchange character sheets and play as someone else's character for an episode.
That sounds like pure chaos and insanity, I love it! I would pay to see that.
Wich type are you talking about?
1) PCs in another PC's body, in wich case you would have a Jester acting like Jester but in Yasha's body.
2) The players themselves using and acting other's PCs, like Laura using Yasha and acting like Yasha.
Ooooh, that's beautiful. I want to see them frantically shuffle the tablets around and have to think about what the other players do often. Maybe put some kind of timed response arena in the Happy Funtime Ball that keeps jumbling them all up, so that they have to solve a puzzle while they swap their minds into someone else's body, and then have to use their stats, skills, spells, and attacks to get out of it.
@@fran3ro I imagine it being like Jester in Yasha's body. So Laura would be doing Yasha's voice but using Jester's personality and mannerisms. Admittedly, not entirely sure what would be best for handling abilities.
If I wanted to keep it simple, I'd probably force them to use their inhabited character's abilities.
So in the aforementioned example, Jester would have to figure out Yasha's abilities, while Yasha would have an awfully awkward time dealing with the Traveller (who I suspect would be incredibly amused by the whole situation).
