We focus most on *prevention* so for now you might want the puppy to be in a pen when the kids are in the room. If prevention falls through accidentally and the puppy gets to jump on the kids, ask them to stand perfectly still without interacting, and then you'll need to immediately redirect the puppy to another activity, probably in his pen where he can't get access to the kids.
@@HowToTrainADreamDog so it’s the same concept that they’re jumping; they stand still and don’t engage. Makes sense (as does the prevention). Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Love your videos! We have a 3 month old Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso Bull mastiff mix. She is such a sweetheart and loves to be with us and our 2 year old. I notice that she often has whale eyes. Can certain breeds like mastiffs have natural whale eyes? Besides the whale eye she seems pretty happy.
Certainly some dogs have more whites than the other, but the trick is to see if the eyes are pointing in a different direction than the head. That's usually when we see the stress signal.
Michelle Thank you for all this information I love your videos I’m already watching to many of your videos is so amazing and helpful 🙏 I have my 3 month old puppy Golden Retriever but he won't stop biting my other 4 year old dog, American Bullie They have a lot of toys, I play with him sometimes he stays in the playpen but when he is outside he wants to play With the Bully but he won't stop biting him and I don't know what to do. 😩The problem is that I'm seeing that the big one is jealous and like with depression when the little one wants to play the big one goes and hides or go N the couch and I'm not like that. I hope you can answer me with some tips. I appreciate it.🙏🫶🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Hello thank u for the vidoe my 4 month old puppy keeps on biting my 6 year old daughter. He is a husky, cane corso mix puppy and he also trys to bite us when every we try to pet him and information to help us with that
The kids were playing with the giant rope toy, and our puppy jumped and broke his leg 😔. The surgery is done and his cone is off. But now we’re trying to play with him without him running, jumping, or getting too excited. It’s not easy to keep a five month old lab puppy calm 🤣. He is in his crate a lot, which makes me feel bad. I just need to figure out better ways of helping him expend some energy, without him re-injuring his leg. We still have 3 more weeks of limited activity (until the xray).
We have some good ideas for you in this video! The good news is that sniffing and problem solving and mental exercise is far more tiring than physical! So you can load up on fun things for your lab to do that is not active and it's a win win for everyone! th-cam.com/video/I1O84Xs3XiE/w-d-xo.html
i LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! althought my pups have been given to other people.. i’m here just to ask a dog breed that fits with my lifestyle. usually i can’t take care of them more than 30mins/1 hours, but weekend? yes absolutely. i am consider to be kind of lazy except if i know what i wanna do, i am allergic to dogs fur so i need those minim shedding and not that smells.. even if i’m lazy i need companion to play. thank you if answerjng!! if you are not? that is okay it’s not like i NEED it now! take time answering!!❤
We love that you love our videos! For your lifestyle, an older dog who sleeps most of the day would be a great fit. There are many senior dogs in shelters who are looking for a loving home where they can grow old peacefully. Another benefit of the senior dog is that their temperament and personality are developed so you can better know what you're going to get, unlike a puppy! Genetics and environment are a stronger indicator of behavior than breed.
Thank you for the tips!! but any idea crate practice 1st or potty training 1st?? i actually like a puppy but since i have so many schedules so i would like elderly one hope you reply again tak time❤❤
Thanks for watching! 🐶 How is your puppy + kid combo going?
Great tips! So, when the puppy starts jumping and biting your kids, what do you do? You said not to yell or scold… so how would you correct the puppy?
