Not only ginger but also many girls facing same issues when parents come to know about our relationship then they just do the same what ginger told and also they don't let them settle out of city when they become independent enough also if they ensure all the safety issues....bcoz the same happened with my frnd she was 25 and she was in relation for 5 years and she got caught by her parents they just bet her locked her made to feel her like she has done crime....and so she wanted to settle in another city bcoz she got a job there but they forced her to marriage and now her life is destroyed......why this happens in india I think bcoz of this society and generation gap....
That sucks honestly! Your friend is something I'd say comes after an adult, she is mature enough to make her own decisions, and parents beating up their 25 year olds for having a boyfriends/girlfriends is so messed up! I wonder when people will change....

Hide them as far as you can. Indian community of parents is not at all matured enough to deal with this. They will keep trying to create barriers even though you manage career and everything. It will all hamper you and your partner and you'll eventually seperate.. though they may seem matured, they are not. Don't share anything. Self experience
Parents emotionally black mail us. Don't talk with girls or we will not take you to the social gathering. Indian second generation is worst . Please help me in this situation 😭🙏
Ginger you can take up a job online too to build a nest egg incase things get worse and if not it can help you when you eventually decide to move. This may or may not be true but your parents can get you married as soon as you finish your education , so you must be prepared in case it happens. And don't ever let them get a whiff of what you are planning to do. Also try to get someone who can defend you and be your ally, to be on your side and someone Elder to you will be preferable.
I am 24 and I don't hv basic freedom, then they expect us to act like adults but they never treat you like you are adult
I think it’s just brutal to use violence against your own children and especially with the adult ones for things which are not wrong. They should complaint to police straightforward, I understand Prachi di you suggested her because she is still pursuing mba and in a way dependant on her parents for finances. But beating up your own kids and threatening them with fear of marrying them off is just unjustified and unacceptable at all levels.

I was in a similar situation, just like GINGER, a year back. I did the exact same thing what prachi di is now suggesting. It seemed really effective. It was a vry tough time bt aftr a year, everything is quite under control. My and my partner are still in a healthy, though secret relationship. And are perusing higher studies, before we can take some job aftr 2 or 3 yrs. Also, the situation in my home has improved a lot. So, have patience, fight for ur choice, every thing will fall into place eventually.

I have been hiding my relationship from my parents since 10 years now. I'm now 26 and am planning to tell my parents about my boyfriend and that I want to marry him soon. Should I tell them that I've been with him since 10 years or do you think it's better if I say that I'm with him only since the last one year so that they don't get shocked or lose trust in me. Well imo you shouldn't tell exactly the right details to your parents that you are dating from last 10 years coz this will somehow going to hurt them. I think 2nd option is better.

Abhi to vo bhi apna business build karne me laga hua hai after covid to usko bhi 1-2 saal lag jayenge stable hone me. He says ki dono ka sath rehna zaroori hai bas, chahe der se shadi ho chalega. And he's very cool if he marries me at 33-34-35 also. His own elder brother is getting married at 33 this July. His family is even more chilled than him. They're like "tumko jo theek lage karo, jisko shadi karna ho karo. Rakhna tumko hai rehna bhi tumko hai. Humko koi dikkat pareshani ni hai. Apne liye khud dhoondliye ho to acha hai."
I'm from UP and he's from Jharkhand. And haan, mere ghar me 2-3 love marriages hui hain mere cousin brothers ki. To parents bht zyada strict nahi hain, thode liberal hain.

Or mujhpe kaafi restrictions lagaye gaye the, meri books hatadi thi mere samne se, but phir apneap vapas bhi mil gayi thi because i was quite young and immature that time. But now, I've chosen someone for life and not for time pass. Upar se mere chote bhai (20 yrs old) ko thoda idea hai that I'm talking to someone, to kabhi kabhi dar lagta hai kahi vo apna muh na kholde parents k samne, agar main exam fail hogayi to.
Dada overthinking to bht ki hai maine is chakkar me, bas yahi sochti hun ki kab bataungi ghar pe or agar ni samjhe to kaise kya karungi.

Bas ek hi tension mujhe lagatar pareshan kar rahi hai ghar pe main pakdi na jau. Ye nahi hogi to obviously I'm gonna study in full swing with 0 negativity. But this one thought is hindering my mental state and studies both.

Abhi wait kro , let u both be at a stage where u both can atleast take stand for urselves by saying that you both are financial dependent and then u can say like we know each other from so nd so time , obviously if u'll tell them now, they will taunt plus maybe they won't like u talking wid him and if u belong to conservative family they won't like u having relationship wid a bengali , i'll pray everything goes well for u both ❤️

Westerners find these difficult to understand, because seen from a logical viewpoint, these are weird and unacceptable behaviours, as to why would parents do such for something that should have been responsibly encouraged.

Garlic, teach your sister to use incognito mode as that is more reliable than watching it on default tab and deleting history. Because:
1. She can forget to delete history.
2. Google suggests ads based on your internet searches and therefore there is a very high chance that your parents will come across some explicit ads.
You can even install VPN. Just connect to the VPN before accessing explicit content.
My suggestion is try to do both. Connect to the VPN and use incognito mode. I usually do this while downloading free movies.

Here I am sharing my friend story,she is in relationship more than 3 year back.they are good friends and not thinking about marriage,but by some reasons they brokeup and no contacts till this month

I had faced both the situations. just a little bit different in 1st story in my life. during those days i was written so many letters to prachi di via mail.. and i got replied(🥺❤thank you prachi di) that i should take a little bit therapy to cz i hv faced so many problems . But unfortunately when you're in such a situation like this it's not possible to go for therapy, especially when you're 19 or 20 and just a student. Cz if your parents have that level of understanding that you need a therapist believe me you'll never be on the situation. they'll never treat you like a criminal.🌸
