  • Once a litter of puppies made it through the first two weeks or so of their lives - where they mostly sleep and drink - they move onto the next developmental steps at a rapid pace: opening their eyes, walking about, getting used to solid food, getting their first vaccinations....In this video we share our experience with our Airedale Terrier's litter - 9 round sturdy little puppies discover the world around them and grow up into puppies ready to wean and leave for their new homes!

    lovely narrative! I raised two litters of Airedale puppies a long time ago, they got destructive as a gang, so it was with a sigh of relief to let them go to their new homes

      We were lucky that we had the overgrown garden for them, they could cause all the chaos they wanted in there, and have a great time with it. And it was a dry warm summer, so all was perfect for them. But I wouldn't want the same inside a house I think.....

    What a heartwarming video! Love that litte white fur patches. Especially liked watching the journey because I own a working line Airedale myself. Is it still a common breed on the british countryside?

    • @WayOutWestx2
      @WayOutWestx2  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure how common Airedales are in Britain. Here in Ireland they are relatively rare. No idea why because they are just such fantastic dogs in every way. I suppose some people struggle with their energy and independence, especially when young, and that put them out of fashion, as people want the perfect easy to keep dog for their busy working lives?

    Thank you so much for this video. I've been wondering about the pups. I was surprised by the microchip law. We should have the same law here in the US. 👍. Best wishes from Ohio.

    • @WayOutWestx2
      @WayOutWestx2  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am glad the microchipping is such an easy straight forward procedure - it ensures safety for the dog should they ever be lost or stolen! And dog-napping was on the increase during covid sadly....

  • @ruoyu10
    @ruoyu10 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @WayOutWestx2
      @WayOutWestx2  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      She has a good life where she is now. Big garden, cosy house, lots of walks. Would have been a handful to keep three Airedales in check here, she would have gotten the other two into all sorts of trouble!

  • @maneuschwander6394
    @maneuschwander6394 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sad to hear that you had to 'microchip' all those babies. I will never have a dog that is microchipped! Almost like the forced vacines for humans going around the world. Terrible! Very beautiful babies though. :)

    • @WayOutWestx2
      @WayOutWestx2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The microchip can be a life saver for a dog. If they ever get lost or stolen and put up for re-sale, the microchip can be checked and the address of the true owner will show up, so the dog can be returned to them. If there's no microchip, no way this would be possible. Inserting the chip didn't bother the puppies at all, the procedure was forgotten within seconds.
