From a local, I sincerely apologise you had to step foot in Bletchley.
Omg it's not even that bad. Chill out
Bletchley Park is lovely but is the only part I've been to. Station staff have always been nice
It's not that bad I use to live in Bletchley/Milton Keynes
Luton
Slough
Stevenage
Stockport
All worse
@@Northerner_Transport_Hub”In Luton the irate passengers are at their force”
Omg YAS! Love purple trains! Wish we had cool trains like that here in to US.
I went on the first 730 from Leighton Buzzard to Hemel Hempstead for the fun of it and I loved 730s, very nice trains and i love em
Jen, award for the most uses of the word 'moist' in a song😂
Jen, once again you're first to produce a video on an occasion like this.
The 730s definitely look like a massive upgrade from the 319s that have been running on this line
BTW a train service is due to resume on the Bletchley to Bedford line from next week, after an absence of almost a year (but unfortunately it's class 150s)
Better than a Rail Replacement Bus.
a 150 is fine.
@@callumltfc Jen doesn't like them
I love end gangways on trains. Whilst they aren’t always the most visually appealing, they are handy. It’s the main reason I love the TFW 158/150/153’s on busy services from Holyhead to Cardiff and the new 197s, another reason why the 175’s aren’t always my favourite
I do like the room available on these trains, perfectly acceptable for commuter stock. Another good and informative video, thankyou
Dedication to the cause as ever, Jen! I’ve not seen trains this colour before but they look smart and pretty spacious internally!
Please be assured that if it was me that borrowed your coffee wit the intention of not getting back, you would be getting back an empty coffee cup
And just to correct you, you won't be getting some of our 323s, you will get getting all of them eventually, I think if I remember Simon talking, they are going to be used to double up the Manchester-Liverpool services, which I think you will agree is a badly needed upgrade for that line
Brilliant Jen, enjoyed watching your take on the new Class 730s and it was great to see you on the day as well.
I used to live in the Ovaltine building in Kings Langley and quite a number of years ago when seasons of Game of Thrones were still being made the place was temporarily renamed Kings Landing for a week! All the signs around the village were temporarily replaced and everything!!
Thanks for the video! I worked on the design of the train before I left Alstom, it's good to see them start passenger service :)
Can't wait to get these on the Cross City Line (my local line)!
Thanks for putting out the first video on this! These trains look very nice, seems like a good upgrade.
Thanks!
No Gloves trains cameo...lol awesome video.
7:55 Very cinematic, Jen! I'm impressed! 😊
It was perfect timing!
I would have liked a bit more luggage space on this train even though it’s primarily a commuter train - but it’s a lot better than some of the tiny and overcrowded trains used by TfW on thier Manchester Piccadilly - Chester and Chester - Holyhead routes
They already have them 720 trains in hereford and Shrewsbury
You mean the diesel 196. The 720 is electric on c2c routes.
Brilliant video Jen, the class 730's look amazing, I can't wait to try them when they come to the west Midlands. :)
he Nicked your coffee Badley it seems…
great video jen!
nice video, Jen! I gotta say, the 730s do look good inside!
I always love the new train smell!
Great Video Jen looking forward to seeing the 730s in service.
It’s “Jen-on-the-spot” again! So timely with your video, as we have come to expect! Cheers!
the WMR class 730s look amazing brilliant review of the class 730 & i wouldnt mind trying one out one day pehaps when they get introduced onto other routes in the future
Enjoyable as usual Jen! I've seen both yours and Nick's videos on this train. It's great to see it from both of your perspectives
It's why I get a bit annoyed when people make out that us TH-camrs are in competition with each other - we're not at all... we all make very different videos with different perspectives!
@@JenOnTheMoveTH-cam meet ups are the best. It's aaaages since I've done one.
6:34 same here
Nice trains....Nice video! 👍🙂
Btw.....Cheddington = Great Train Robbery!
They look very spacious inside...
Great video! Amazed you managed to edit so quickly, as always! ~ Daniel
Coffee always helps!
Nice to see the new Class 730 trains in service. More of them are coming into service throughout this year and next year onwards. I wonder if Geoff Marshall will do a video of the new Class 730 as it’s in service.
@ 1:39 you're on James Bond. Check the number on the front.
Excellent really enjoyed watching it.
Thanks!
I used to commute from Kings Langley to Euston on the old AM10/Class 310 slam door stock. Nice to see the new stock. Thanks for a nice vid. As usual.
Thankyou :)
Looking forward to seeing the 730's in service, they look so good!
They already are in service 👍
If you check out you tube, the LNWR class 730's have been running under test in the West Midlands for 4 months now on the Rugeley to Walsall line
This is the first one in service though!
I love the new train, and your videos as always, nice one ❤
Thank you!
Thank you!
@@JenOnTheMove❤
1:40 thanks for rubbing it in Jen. Can we pls just have some to replace our 30 yr old stock on the cross city line yet
These will be on the Cross City Line next year!
Great vlog Jen. Great to see the Class 730s entering service. At some point these new trains will serve my local station Rugby well at least the London northwestern ones and not these West Midlands Railway ones lol.
Doesn't matter as LNWR trains are run by West Midlands trains, same company.
@@peterwilliamallen1063 yeah I know they were lmao but the LNR ones are slightly different 5 car versions with more features for longer distance travel.
The "table with no seat" is a homage to Ryanair's seat 11....
I love the capacity notice on the overhead signs. I imagine regular users have "their" favorite seat and are pretty predictable. As you came in to Euston in the wee hours I could only think of a little place, about 5 blocks, that I love for breakfast and coffee.
I believe the capacity information is done by monitoring the live weight of the carriages
Amazing video Jen! Your a step closer to your 323s up in Manchester :)
I thought they already had 323s in Manchester... I know i used to ride them to uni from mauldeth road
@@dasy2k1 There are some already yes, the WMR ones are going up now though.
Wow, what a quick video turnaround! Heres your next coffee ☕️
Thank you so much!
Just looking at Wikipedia and the WMR/LNWR site.
I see that the 730 order has changed. No more 5-car 730/1s, 48 × 3-car 730/0s. Up from 36, and according to a WMR fact sheet for both LNWR & WMR.
730/1 has gone.
36 × 5-car 730/2s for LNWR. Original order was for 45 units for 730/1 & 730/2 fleet.
I do hope that the Liverpool to Birmingham service retains the remaining 350s or gets the 730/2s.
Just glad for reliability that they didn't go down the CAF route and have a corridor (as with the 196-197) version of the 331s.
The 195s and 331s should have had corridors, especially when services like Manchester Airport - Blackpool North are frequently 6-car formations.
As for 3+2 seating. They may offer more bum space on paper, but more often than not, the centre seat is left vacant or used as a bag perch. Yet 3+2 seats reduce the aisle width which can create problems on a busy train.
The 455s are/were a good example. Southern were 3+2, while SWT went for 2+2. As a passenger, the SWT refurb was far better the Southern's. Look at the 777s, also 2+2. It helps passenger movement and flow on busy trains, which can also affect station dwell times.
I've just had a look on Wikipedia, and the order hasn't changed?
Cut & paste from the class 730 Wikipedia page:-
"In 2022 the order was amended to increase the proportion of three-car units in the fleet, which will result in the delivery of 48 three-car units and 36 five-car units instead of the original plan for 36 three-car units, Class 730/0, and 45 five-car units, Class 730/1 and Class 730/2 - a total of 324 vehicles in 84 units".
If you also look at the fleet information on the site it shows 48 × 3-car Class 730/0 and 36 × 5-car Class 730/2. No Class 730/1s as per the original order.
@@neilcrawford8303 that is unfortunate
the person who stole your coffee but got caught is named Nick Badly
I wish that any U.K. rail operator had a direct train, first class and loco hauled, from Manchester Victoria to Holyhead on SailRail for the ferry to Dublin - and if they really had to use Manchester Piccadilly, at least not using Platform 13 at Manchester Piccadilly, calling at Deansgate/Castlefield
Tfw run a loco hauled to Holyhead it’s timings are a bit shit though
Looks similar to the red and Orange lines in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Say what? I had no idea they were entering service! They look very similar to 196s, which I guess isn't a surprise. I hope the LNR units are better appointed, not sure 2 hours 20 minutes on those seats from Crewe would be much fun.
LNWR is owned by West Midlands trains so they will be the same but different livery outside
Dedication there to be in Milton Keynes at 5:00 in the morning!
Did you visit Bletchley Park?
are these faster than the older stock / better acclr/braking ?
there is something pavlovian going on, I feel like I need a coffee to watch one of your videos
No place to lean by the doors.
It’s kind of weird that the London overground shares the same family of trains to the London Northwestern that are much faster.
I Like Class 730s
Next time, go see Bletchley Park and learn about Alan Turing. Fab museum.
Can actually see a value in a table seat without a window if you need to snooze \m/
London Northwestern Railway should also introduce their new Class 730s that is to replace the Class 319 and Class 350/2. I do think that the Class 350/2 are heading for storage. With London Northwestern Railway retaining the Class 350/1/3 and /4 Desiro units.
unfortunately those are still a little while away from being introduced, hence why Birmingham isn’t getting these trains first even though theyre meant for the lines there.
Ah right. Maybe that’s why.
@@AndrewG1989 from my understanding the 319s really needed withdrawing as they became practically unusable, so the 730/0s are the best solution for now
Indeed. Northern could inherit the Class 319s to boost more services in the Greater Manchester area.
I guess we'll see you back in Bletchley when the line to Oxford re-opens
Maybe sooner!
@@JenOnTheMove Resumption of service on the Marston Vale line?
The delays to introduction meant I finished uni and moved away from Birmingham before the 730s came into service, but they definitely seem like a big upgrade to the (often crowded!) 323s, as much as I'm fond of them.
Also at 3:49, isn't that map missing the Northampton branch?
Yeah, usually it has its own branch off with the bright green line between Rugby and Milton Keynes Central. So on that map, the bright green line should go further from Birmingham New Street, with Northampton, and onto Euston. I mean it's not the best map as I have been on services that are not on there but it is mostly accurate.
Funnily enough, I have also noticed it is missing a couple stations between Birmingham and Rugby, like Tile Hill and Coventry.
At least them rickety old 319s are leaving the fleet 🥴
West Midlands Railway Class 730
These unit were more than likely just on test as they are liveried up for the parent company West Midlands trains to operate in the West Midlands, but LNWR trains are owned and run by West Midlands Railways.
They weren’t on test. I explain what’s happened in the video
Would that be Sally Traffic on the announcements? Sad not to have seen a gloomy Watford Junction to remind me of my commuting days!
Sounds like her doesn’t it?
Wet, not moist today? Naturally MR Badley should steal your coffee, he´s even called Nick!
Thanks Jen. Another early start for you. Time for a snooze now 🥱🤭
Who is the guy in the blue shirt. 5:44
He looks familiar to me... Distant family possibly. Something about the eyes and chin... Family traits
Did you notice the new platforms 7 & 8 at Bletchley?
If you stop at Cheddington, you're stopping everywhere on that line.
Couldn't look in detail on this trip - but I will be back!
I'm from Leighton Buzzard which is the next station
4:14 Apparently northern will be replacing their civities even before 150/1 for that reason
Have you got a source for that?
@@JenOnTheMove well i have two physical magazines about it, and there was a video about it from OTT but his entire channel seems to have disappeared and i cannot figure out what happened
Good old Belchley
The class 730 look great, definitely looking forward to them on the cross city line.
They’re a massive upgrade on the 323s, and I love the 323s!
Again a nice video on a very, very early train. Did Jen stay in London and not in “that” London? I’m confused now 😅
I’ve spent too long here! 😂
It is never how you get up in the morning, but how do you get to sleep at night, I just fret and panic
It's usually the case that very little sleep actually happens before one of these!
I just rid one 10/10 jen whats your rating?
4:57 yeah, well he nicks badley
Did I see Nick Badley?😉
looks more Puce than Purple
Jen was this literally today? I almost bumped into you at Manchester Piccadilly, didn't see you until you were half way up the stairs from Platform 6.
Yeah, it was on Monday.
I was probably on my way back dashing to get my next train - it was a horrible journey back! Sorry I missed you!
@@JenOnTheMove No problem, it was a day of cancellations and lateness, you did loo like you were in the zone for a connection.
When was this recorded
On the first train on Monday
Good stuff!
I've been filming the 730s on test over the last month or so.... Not sure about the livery I've seen though, orange and purple is not my favourite colour combo!
What's your opinion? 🤔
This is the colour chosen for West Midlands Trains in the West Midlands which is what these units are for.
The miscellaneous freight train is a Class 66
Pulling the car trains
Usually there's two of them on it not sure
But the real name of the fright train is a dB loco
@kingfinley-cs1wc fright train yeah that's very correct (!)
@@kingfinley-cs1wc don't think it isn
So now I know why we are still waiting for out cross city trains in Birmingham we are the last to get new ones because of London need is more important
Look a lot nicer than the 331’s which could have been a lot better. 323’s are good but are 22 years old.
Is wet worse than moist?😂
If only they got bi-modes they could run on to Bedford as well. Missed opportunity there.
What Jen… you went to Bletchley and did not go and visit the code breaking centre or the museum of the computer
Another time!
@@JenOnTheMove you have been forgiven then… I used to live in Bletchley and they add to the station the reinstated Oxford to Cambridge line but they were meant to do a total rebuild of the station years ago
OK why is it in Glasgow subway livery?
It’s in the West Midlands Railway livery!

You went to Bletchley Jen? Bletchley! How you suffer for your art. Pip Pip.!
Lost your coffee? That will become a regular thing if you are not careful. Is it the train or the platform at fault at Euston... Large gap from train to platform AND hefty height difference?
Why did nobody stop you when you were screa... singing?
It must mean that I'm an absolutely amazing singer 🤣🤣🤣
God that orange is garish 🤢
It’s not that bad!
