Yeah, I backed out of it on a couple of occasions earlier in the race, but decided to grit my teeth and give it a go. Was preparing to take a lot of the kerb and leave room on the outside through the corner for him, but breathed a huge sigh of relief when I saw him in the mirror and realised the space wasn’t needed 😃

Dig the new splash screen, very modern and with it! Have made my annual return to iRansom, early days but not thrown my toys out of my pram yet. Although I did roll forwards on the line and got a 9 second stop & go in my first race back. 😂 Fair shout for the victory, always a challenge in the MX-5 at Summit Point, so easy to clip the grass, first race back I watched 3 cars leap into the woods. 😂
Ahh I knew the evil mistress would get her claws into you and drag you back in eventually! I’ve actually had a decent run of clean races now… some by taking the coward’s way out (think you saw one at the Red Bull Ring) and others by sheer luck. However, the only thing a run of clean races means in iRacing is… I’m due a run of catastrophes! Good luck with your return!

I went back to try this car again and its undrivable. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it... wearing a set of headphones, there is a very slight, quick 2 beeps in the right speaker every 5 or 6 seconds. It never stops and it only happens in this car and only in iRacing. I have iRacing, AC, ACC, RF2, AMS2, DR2.0, EA WRC, RaceRoom etc and have never heard it in any other cars. I can hear it in recordings, including in this video although it's very hard to hear it over your voice. A couple years ago I wrote iRacing about it to point it out, they basically said it's my settings b/c they couldn't possibly have done something wrong. Sucks because I genuinely like racing this car, but once you hear it, you'll hear it from then on.
Man watching this I wanted the win so bad. As many mistakes as the front were making you held a beautiful wheel, I was just praying nobody took you out. Great race for the W!
Ahh thanks Chad, yeah the mayhem ahead worked in my favour… I was able to quietly go about putting a few laps together, and get more familiar with the combo in the early stages. By lap 7, I felt really strong and confident of my lines, and it was just at the right time… only 1sec behind the leader, and I knew I’d be able to reel him in. Great fun!
Absolutely, you ran a perfect race! I was inspired and jumped in a split when I got home from work just now. Didn’t get the W and made a few bonehead mistakes but only cost me 1 spot on the finish. I got a lot of help from the others taking each other out. Been awhile since I’ve driven this combo but I think it’s a great one, just should have practiced for about an hour.
@@geeloorgaming8046 Funnily enough, it was pure chance I did this combo. I’d logged on to race the F3, but my FFB had disappeared in the practice session. So I quickly reinstalled my wheel driver and firmware, but missed the entry cutoff for F3 by seconds. So the next race on the schedule that I owned the combo was this one. So it was a lucky break, in the end!
Fair driving both of you, great win! Too bad your opponent missed out on the podium, awful feeling when you crash out a few corners before the end. You like to race different games, you should try SRS for Assetto Corsa. It's a smaller community these days, but used to be the biggest private AC league. Similar to LFM, ranked racing, and good drivers. Check it out one day :)
Thanks for the tip! I do love AC and have tried to find decent online races before so I could make some videos on it. Think I tried SimRacing.gp daily races, but the grids were quite small and had damage switched off. Will check out SRS, thanks… it might give me the excuse to re-download AC!

Thanks Jamie, yeah the previous race I did in the Mazda a month or two ago was a cracker too. I only did this one because I missed the entry for the F3 race I’d come on to do, because my FFB had messed up with a Windows update. Had to reinstall the driver and firmware. By the time I’d done that, F3 had started so I just went for the Mazda instead. Glad I did!!
