Yes, The Nest on Soi Diana, used to be called Robin's Nest. Never had a bad meal there. Probably one of the best restaurants in the area. A little bit on the pricey side compared to other restaurants on Soi Buakhao. But you get what you pay for. Thank you. Enjoyed the video. Note: It's always the skinny guys who eat the most.
I stayed at Areca Lodge in May and ate dinner at The Nest most night, great place and every meal was a winner, even had a special when I was there, ribs, salad and fries and a San Miguel Light for under 200 baht. Winning 🏆
Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Strachan another wonderful info video. I will definitely go to the nest on Sunday when I arrive to Pattaya. What an awesome roast dinner. Wow your good lady wife has remarkable drinking ability! 👍👍🙏🙏
Inflation prices in full force here in America. Fast food burger meal cost $12, fuel fill-up crosses $100 easy. Can never go wrong with meat and potatoes, if you ask me. Looked wonderful! Nong Nuy broke the #1 rule of ordering BBQ....never eat BBQ if wearing a white shirt. She stayed crisp and clean throughout the entire meal. She must be a magical unicorn!
Even at home she eats it the same, in fairness she didn't see the menu until we arrived, but ribs are her favourite. She told me afterwards that they were not fall of the bone, so will have to take her to Tigglebitties for her rib fix 🤣🤣
I wondered where I recognized your good lady from and then looked back on your video of chillin home cafe and realized she cut my hair yesterday. She did a great job. I visit chillin cafe often so will say hi if I see you there.
Ate there nearly every day last month..the food was great everytime..but the Sunday roast was to die for..chef did a shepherds pie special one day..I would have travelled to Thailand just for that..yummo
YES, I love Thailand prices. in Canada, a double quarter pounder w/cheese combo meal is 300.87 Thai Baht ! A Sunday Roast ( 1 plate) = 661 Baht ! I hope she is fully recovered and stays hydrated after that variety of adult beverages !!
Sunday Roast was very good. The Junior plate was enough food. First time here but everything had more flavor than most the others. The waitresses were attentive and restaurant was clean. Indoor or Outdoor tables available.
Thanks for this David. Pre-covid I used to eat regularly at Robin's Nest on my holidays including the Sunday Roast (it used to be buffet style) but didn't try 'The Nest' when I visited Pattaya earlier this year. Glad to see the new management seem to have kept up the standard. I'd be interested in your opinion as to where is the best British style Sunday Roast in Pattaya - this one, The Sportsman or somewhere else? Cheers
The Nest seems very popular Phil, even still. I'll be honest never tried the sportsman for a Sunday roast. Our go to place is on the Darkside, Suggestions Restaurant, especially important is they have a garden, so wee Friday has a mad 10 minutes. In town, I would probably head to Robin Hood, the luxury carvery is really exceptional, however, I can never do a buffet any justice 🙏🙏
Looking at the 'after' plate makes me think your mum always said "Well, at least finish your meat", just like mine did... 555 I had 4 coffees and IIRC a club sandwich (slight hangover) at the old Robins Nest in late December 201p, which was very good and the whole menu looked good. Looks like The Nest is continuing the good value & quality.
Came to the nest for Sunday roast. Told me so beautiful. The lam was not even cooked properly. Almost raw. When you have to send back food it takes all the enjoyment out of finishing. They can video as many set up costumes as the want it don't change that I had to send my food back
This was my favorite restaurant in Pattaya. Big proportions and very well cooked food. I liked the Chicken Sizzling Fajitas - probably had that 12 times in a month. Their cheesecake is top notch. Only thing is it is also expensive for the area - but you only live once.
Exactly Jason, there is always someone who will make things cheaper, but corners get cut, I see it all the time, especially with the breakfasts. I was impressed by some of the specials they had on display, Im a sucker for chilli fries, so will head back there soon 🙏🙏
got here from your other channel ... great info source, thanks will you do some real Thai food suggestions too please ? i love the hot chillies there ...
Hey Dave, Do you know 'Greg's Kitchen' ? Used to be up 2nd Road, over the other side of Pattaya Klang up on the right hand side. I've heard it closed down because of building work there and relocated somewhere else but I can't find it. Do you know anything about it ? He did some good British food there.
Looked good, am doing a series on Pattaya's best breakfast...any suggestions? don't like the look of there breakfast...no Black Pudding 😂 which IMO is a must have
Best breakfast is very very subjective. So many price ranges also. These are probably the most talked about breakfasts. Kungs, Devonshire, Robin Hood, Time, O'Garas & Tropical (darkside). If you did a poll, probably Cheap Charlie's would get the vote, however I'm not a fan of their sausages 🙏🙏
The times i walked across the Soi from the Areca for some food at Robins .Sad it's changed hands because i had a nice chat with the owner 4 years back .Nice bloke and lovely Mrs .Unless i'm totally wrong they are still there ?Milkshakes or cokes ,Cmon David 🙄55 Thai women remind me of my sister ,she's 7 stone roughly ,can eat anyone out of town 🤦♂
Lol Geno, I really don't drink a lot unless I'm out with Nong in an evening. When eating it's normally soft drinks of some sort, unless we are at Cafe Blu 🤣🤣 Yes I think the new owner is French, we at least the Chef who came to ask us if all ok was 🙏🙏
I'm amazed that you couldn't finish the meal as you've eaten much more in previous visits to other eating establishments. Robin's Nest - named after the owner Robin, a really nice Welsh bloke, who now owns The Hungry Hippo and before that Chunky Monkey. I don't know if he is still the owner of The Nest, now that the name has changed.
Great videos, David. But all you seem to do is walk around, eat, eat, eat, and say hello to a friend or two. Is this your whole life, there? And once you've taken a video of everything, what's left? Is there no more to your life than this? It's the same with Bangkok Pat, JWINTHAI, and a few others.
Glad you enjoy the videos talladale. Unfortunately Nong has at most two days off work per week. I say at most because if she has appointments she still goes in. So she worked last Sunday afternoon and when we finished this video we went to the salon supply shop for colours she had run out of ....and she went in for two appointments. I on the other hand walk my dog around 7.30 each morning, then answer my YT comments until Nong wakes up around 8.40...breakfast around 9.30 (normally eating out) then she heads into work. During the day I also take care of my Mum's shopping and usually help friends out with anything they need doing. An afternoon (very short) I sometimes spend shooting pool, until 5 when I walk and feed my dog. Nong gets home around 6.30 and we either cook or head out somewhere for a meal. Tuesday we play Killer Pool, Friday I'm out making cycling videos, Saturday I spend about 3 hours editing and usually about 6 hours spread over the Monday to Wednesday. Between all this I do the shopping and cleaning/laundry in our apartment. Sometimes on a Saturday night we head into walking street or LK Metro...trust me the time flies by. Sorry it seems so mundane, but our eating out videos is really us deciding where we are eating that day, plonking the camera on the table and then catching up on what has happened over the week. 🙏🙏
@@DavidAndNong I didn't know your mum lives there, too. That's great! And I don't want to sound critical of your lifestyle. Everyone has a right to live the life they want and it's none of my business. Your days certainly do seem to be full, and very fulfilling. More power to you. Btw, I'm British. Born and lived in London for a long time and then moved to the USA 45 years ago, can you believe? Now living in Los Angeles. Long story. I've been to Thailand seven times, but not for the past three years. I hope to go there maybe January or February so I hope I can say 'Hi' to you. I'll definitely remember the eating places you've covered. My TH-cam name, Talladale, is, I believe, a very beautiful village in Scotland. But there's another reason I use it. I'll tell you if I see you!
When i come out i find i cant eat big meals, maybe its the heat i woud end up taking half home for dinner. Coffee and a banana for breakfast late lunch light dinner and a snack before bed helps me lose weight
Jean, it takes time, I have a few friends here who try to rush/force relationships. I'm watching Nong just now supporting pool in Fever bar, I'm sure she will have a sore head in the morning 🤣🤣
I think you struggled on this one David, the skinfull the night before probably took up more room than was required for your large Sunday roast. Nong on the other hand cruised through it with flying colours, and after a "Rest" going to a BBQ. A word of caution, don't ever take Nong to the UK you would need to take out a substantial bank loan to pay for her love of food and alcoholic beverages 🙏🙏
I think you hit the nail on the head Ken, I'm a lightweight drinker whereas Nong knows no limits. Thankfully I put in a better performance on this week's video 🤣🤣
Thanks David really enjoyed the video, and the food looks great.
Very enjoyable meal FK...big portions, decent taste and reasonable prices 🙏🙏
Nice...thanks David!
Good feed that day James, maybe a bit too big 🤣🤣

Great video my mate 👍
Cheers Asef, thanks for watching 🙏🙏
Been their before great service great food for good price. Enjoy your videos thanks
Looks awesome 👍
Cheers Jock Ster 🙏🙏
Thanks mate,love ya work
Raz, thank you so much 🙏🙏
Always good food in the Nest. Excellent video David.
Lol we were back there yesterday for a light lunch, not videod, perfect 🙏🙏
I stayed at Areca Lodge in May and ate dinner at The Nest most night, great place and every meal was a winner, even had a special when I was there, ribs, salad and fries and a San Miguel Light for under 200 baht. Winning 🏆
Mark that's a deal for sure, I'm tempted to go and have the chilli fries that was on the specials board 🙏🙏
Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Strachan another wonderful info video. I will definitely go to the nest on Sunday when I arrive to Pattaya. What an awesome roast dinner.
Wow your good lady wife has remarkable drinking ability! 👍👍🙏🙏
Lord Lucan, she can put me to shame on the drinks front. Yes the Nest was a decent Sunday roast and well worth the 299 🙏🙏

Even at home she eats it the same, in fairness she didn't see the menu until we arrived, but ribs are her favourite. She told me afterwards that they were not fall of the bone, so will have to take her to Tigglebitties for her rib fix 🤣🤣

Lol DJ, a small world.... especially in Pattaya, glad you were happy with the haircut. We probably eat at Chillin two or three time a week. 🙏🙏
Wow thought you would have to carry her home !!! Roast looks very nice will have to try next time, when I get there. cheers.
Cheers Leslie, when it comes to drinking she leaves me standing. The Sunday roast was first class 🙏🙏
Nong is such a lovely lady, you are so Lucky David 😊🙏🇬🇧
Yes Martin, she brings a smile to my face everyday 🙏🙏
And to us all also
I be staying there in November cannot wait
Brilliant location Philip 🙏🙏
Ate there nearly every day last month..the food was great everytime..but the Sunday roast was to die for..chef did a shepherds pie special one day..I would have travelled to Thailand just for that..yummo
Ps lasagna was 5/5 too
Ok will give it a try, the chilli fries with cheese caught my eye also 🙏🙏
When i'm there i eat Thai food all week then the Nest or Nicky's for a Sunday roast both are great
I think we have Thai food for breakfast maybe 5 times per week, with Thai dinner maybe two or three nights. Sunday we just have the one big meal 🙏🙏
YES, I love Thailand prices.

Crazy things around the world Prepforit, she's a trooper when it comes to drink, never seems to get hungover, so long as she gets a decent sleep 🙏🙏
Love the vid.
Sunday Roast was very good. The Junior plate was enough food. First time here but everything had more flavor than most the others. The waitresses were attentive and restaurant was clean. Indoor or Outdoor tables available.
I must admit, if we are not making a video on the Sunday it is our go to place for the roast 🙏🙏
Thanks Dave used to have a carvery in there but if that's how they do it now fantastic will be in pattaya on 12 September can't wait cheers
Great to hear Kev, fantastic spread for the money 🙏🙏
A little bit different when you had an all you can eat Buffet. Back in the day,

All the best when it comes Jon, 6 weeks will fly by 🙏🙏
Nice onion ring snatch! 555
Years of practice, success is if 10 seconds after they are oblivious 🤣🤣
got here from your other channel ... great info source, thanks

Charlie, if you see this Friday's video you will understand why hit chilli is not on the agenda 🤣🤣

I was in there in June am be heading back in Christmas 🎄
Great to hear Derek, it got quieter in July for some reason. I'm sure December will be a busy month 🙏🙏
Had the Sunday roast few weeks ago..massive..could even eat half..ps David if you bump into OM at Annie's.. tell her gary says hello
Will do Gary, yes this is one of the few meals that had me beat, I think Saturday night drinks may have not helped 🤣🤣
Wow that looked huge i could never eat all of it
It's always fun trying Will 🙏🙏
Dissapointed in you David not finishing the meal.Shoul,ve had a breather for 30 minutes and had another go at it,even if cold. All the best.
My Bad Vincent, I tried to keep up with Nongs drinking the night before, but failed miserably. It had a knock on effect the next day 🤣🤣
Food looks great but why all the TVs and noise?
Would be a deal breaker for me.
I think it's just my mics they pick up every sound Mark, was well worth a visit 🙏🙏

A bit like a fine wine, matures with age. Thai ladies seem to think anything over 30 is old 🤣🤣

Lol Pete, definitely not on form that day, I've been trying to reduce my portions sizes, so the Sunday feed comes as a bit of a shock 🤣🤣
Bargain that Dave for 299.
Most blokes would be struggling to down that amount of booze Nui did, fair play to her.
