David Green wrote the music for Mary Did You Know over a weekend. Mark said in an interview with Kirk Cameron he had more questions but couldn't get them to rhythm.
Based upon the hymn she sang (Magnificat) before Jesus was born, and upon what the angel told her before Jesus was conceived, Mary could answer in the affirmative to many questions put to her by Mark Lowry's famous Christmas carol.
Nobody sings this song like Mark, and David and Guy Penrod as backup, outstanding!! David also has 2 different versions of this song as well, and they are of course fabulous.

Not another Mark Lowry song, but on the same theme of Mary dealing with her son being God in the flesh is a song called " He is Still My Son" by Maggie Beth Phelps, the daughter of David Phelps. Very moving and beautifully done
This performance was Mark Lowry On Broadway. Guy Penrod backs up Mark with David. GREAT show!!! Mark's Mom sings with him, David Phelps sings with Sandi Patty. Anthony Burger is playing the piano. Mark does several numbers with Anthony. GREAT DVD!!! I have followed Mark since 1981. He comedy shows are SO funny 🤣 My favorite skit is Choir Practice a story about his mom playing the piano at church. Check it out. I have had a Cildrren's and Puppet ministry since 1989 and have an object lesson to explain the Trinity. I have one of the kids come up and give them a very ripe banana 🍌. Dudley one of my puppets has the child peel the banana 🍌 and then asks them to gently squeeze the 🍌. The kids all go, "oooooh yuck🤣" Then I have the child look at the banana. It is one banana that has split into 3 sections and they understand. The kids are 3yrs - 10 yrs I prayed 🙏 for a way to explain the Trinity and this is what the Lord gave me.♥️♥️♥️
I love the perspective of this song and the way Mark emphasizes every single word. The song, Your Here, by Francesca Battistelli has a very similar message but from a different perspective, Mary speaking to baby Jesus as a mom speaking to her baby boy obviously, it's another beautiful song!
