He is so attractive 😍 i love the aggression he gives off when he sings. I truly think he puts a lot of passion into his performances and auditions! I felt like simon was kind of being an ass. He had a great voice. A great vocal coach or producer could definitely bring out the originality that Simon and Louis is wanting out of him. Glad they gave him a shot!

When he said that he could have been in one direction and conquered everything that one direction had accomplished and had that same career am I the only one that thought that he was wrong because one direction would not be the same and they would not have taken over the world the same way if he was in it instead of one of the boys because he wouldn’t have meshed the same way and made the same type of music
I don't think he fits the 'boyband guy' mold if you know what I mean. He is passionate and talented but 1D worked because it was this formula of 5 guys who just synced, I can't see him being part of that formula

This whole audition felt so tense... It's extremely awkward because I remember watching the show in 2010 and he really was almost put in One Direction. He was the same age as them. Actually his solo audition that year at bootcamp might've been slightly "too good" to be put in the group. I understand how bitter he might be, but this is really awkward for Louis too...
He was definitely too good for One Direction, in a bad way. His dancing was better (evident in the behind-the-scenes clips), but almost too good for what the music industry was looking for at the time. If he was living in the 90's, he would have been a killer boy-band member with the dance moves. I don't think his voice was special enough to be a contestant. All the members of One Direction have unique voices (Niall with his Irish rasp, Louie and Harry have their rapsy voice, Zayn has his unique slurred style, and Liam has perfect pitch and looks). Tom just has a nice voice for theater (as the judges previously told him). Simon knew exactly what he was doing with his selection of the One Direction members. I'm glad he didn't choose Tom. He didn't fit in the group.
After watching Louis’s if he didn’t sing Her There Delilah he probably would’ve never made it through. He probably would’ve never met Liam, Harry, Louis and Zayn and he wouldn’t be where he is right now.
Everybody who says that Tom sings better than Louis and so on, I just want to say, that Louis was put FOR THAT REASON in One Direction. He wasn't good enough for being a solo artist. BUTTTT, he got famous, got better, he's unique, has a special voice like really nobody else right now, and yeah, there are people who don't understand that cause they just like the typical pop voices or something like that, but he ist fantastic in hs own way and that's why he is where he is right now, and why so many people in this world love him. Maybe because he did not always get enough sleep. After he was out on xfactor 2010, he did gigs every friday, saturday and sunday. Sleep and diet is very important if you want to still look young.
I don't get why it was so difficult for them to decide... he's a great singer compare to most of the trash singers they put through already. He just needs direction, a mentor, better song choices 🤷🏻♂️

His voice isn't bad but his attitude is too angry. There is no joy in his performance. To make the claim he could of been isn't a good start and sad that he held onto that delusion all those years.
I felt that he was a little too aggressive with both songs but i get that was probably super nervous for being made to sing a second song again. I liked the first better than the second one, more of a star material in the first than the second one
I hope that further along in the competition he's able to relax and show more emotion than the obvious yearning and desperation for getting through. Now it was so overwhelming I couldn't feel the songs, I couldn't feel any emotion in the singing other than "I want this and you need to put me through". I'm glad they did give him a chance though because I think this guy has potential. He just needs to get over the fact that it didn't happen the last time. It's the past, leave it there and make this your year! Also Louis did a wonderful job. I understand how he just _couldn't_ be the one to send Tom home. I'm glad he didn't have to be. That can be done later on, if it turns out to be the only way to go.
I do not understand why they stopped the music, in my opinion, he did it very well .. I understand that maybe it was not the Best, but he deserved a "yes" from the first song he sang. PD: Louis are the best. ❤
The ironic thing is he was better 10 years ago, more real, more relaxed, better song choice. If he could give up wanting it so badly and relax and find out what is really his, he might have a chance. You were closer 10 years ago, but you could still leap.
Tom can sing better than Louis that’s why Louis was placed in a group he wasn’t going to win the competition as a solo artist! His voice isn’t strong enough.
Tom doesn’t have that great of a voice though. Louis has a distinct sound and it’s pleasant to listen to. This just sounds meh and I feel bad because he does seem like a nice guy
I think Simon is right. The performance doesn't seem natural. He's always going to have the One Direction thing hanging over his head. Unfortunately, not everyone is meant to be a star. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just life and you need to move on and find something else that makes you happy and fulfilled. He looks like he would be a good soap opera star honestly or a side character on a show like This Is Us.
I’m so glad he came back to the show! He really matured as a vocalist and he delivered an excellent performance. Although, I wish that Simon stopped giving him a death stare!
Jacob Elyachar I think Simon knew the reason behind Tom auditioning and probably didn't like that he was implying that they made a mistake in 2010 by not putting Tom into one direction. He was the last boys name called to make it to the top six and he clearly feels like that should've been him in one direction. Simon knows that one direction wouldn't have ever been the same without one of the five members. The boys, before Zayn left, wouldn't even call themselves one direction at their shows. I think it's more that Simon doesn't like to be questioned and this kid highly questions Simon's decisions from the past. And this is Simon's label, that he could potentially get signed to, I don't think Simon wants him to go through because he'd be constantly disagreeing with Simon. I think that's why Simon kept glaring at him, not because of his voice.
Caitlin Seufert thanks for the clarification! But I believe that Tom does deserves a second chance. If he doesn’t do well on XF, he could do the Voice UK. I could see will.i.am, Tom Jones, Olly and JHud (both who want to one up Simon) take him under their wing.
Jacob Elyachar I agree, but I think Simon was judging as the label executive who's pr team couldn't come up with a marketing plan that could work. I think it's the same reason he said no to that other group of men who also auditioned because they got eliminated by Simon for one direction. When Simon genuinely likes what he sees/hears, his eyes light up and he gets this dreamy look on his face. He knows his eyes give him away, so that's why he always wears sunglasses at judges houses. Like Tom and the group have already gone through this once, they didn't make it past judges houses. The label clearly couldn't see an audience to clearly market to or a category of music that they could fit into. I think if he does make it, he's going to have a hard time getting anywhere if he's in Cowell's category. Best chance is probably with Louis or Ayda.

Perfect timing to do so because the whole world is watching thanks to Louis Tomlinson from one direction being on the show. And if they do it right, they just might have some of the doors open to make them more successful than fifth harmony or little mix. They might have to jump ship to make it happen though, and if they don't, then they are too loyal for Cowell.
I remember him from that many years ago, he’s a great singer who needs a lot of help big time! First song didn’t did him justice but the 2nd song he did really well! He does have potential, but I do kinda agree with the fact he needs to work on becoming original!
The only thing I could focus on was Louis the poor baby looked like he was going to cry you could tell he didn't really like it but would probably feel really bad because they have a past personal connection 😭

I’m really sorry I tried but l just don’t like him. He seems to aggressive to me and he oversang both songs. You can see, that he is still angry on Simon and I mean that’s not okay. Of course it is hard for him to think about if it could be when he would have been a part of one direction but it’s now 8 years ago and he is still angry. And poor Louis hat to decide if he made it or not. Im not sure if he’d say yes to another person with the same voce. You could see how hard it was for him and l think he would feel heartbroken if he’d said no.❤️ The whole constellation between Simon, Louis and Tom felt wrong for me.

I was a huge directioner, and love Louis to bits, I have so much respect for him! He does have a huge heart in general, is a very strong person, he’s amazing & of course he has the ability to judge him, he has a lot more experience, even though they went through it together in 2010 and they’re the same age, YES, he has a lot of experience in the music industry to judge Tom now. His heart is massive! He cares so much about everybody, and shows so much passion for people, (ie with Antony) it’s incredible, especially now without 1D around, his real personality is really shining. However, he doesn’t have a big heart because of this video... I wouldn’t quite call it that... not only is it awkward because this guy ‘could have been in one direction’ (because he really could have in my opinion, I thought his audition was up there with there’s if not better), and they obviously were against each other in 2010. But... Louis and Harry also made fun of Tom and his dad on a livestream... so that’s probably the reason it was even more awkward for him. No wonder he said yes, I’d feel bad too. He could have kicked him down again but chose not to. Obviously the video was hilarious back in 2010 when Louis & Harry were kids having a laugh at somebody else’s audition... but imagine been face to face with them 8yrs later, knowing that Tom has probably seen that video. But my opinion on Tom, he really isn’t that great now & I don’t think he could be very successful in this day and age. But he could have easily been amazing, and gone so far in 2010 as I do think his audition was better than all of one directions original auditions. However, I’m not sure he would have fit in in one direction... maybe another boy band, ie Boyzone. He had a great voice in 2010, and it’s ok now, but he’s just really dated... dont where he would fit in unless he created his own niche band, so have to agree with the judges... and I think that was his problem in 2010 too. Where do they put him?
This guy can’t find the right rhythm at all. He was way too slow on Let It Go and almost too fast for Rag’n’Bone Man. He also needs to lay off the gym a bit and look a little more “soft” - the super hard exterior and tights clothes makes him look Hulk-ish and it’s not approachable. Louis did not want to give him a ‘yes’. He was waiting for her to decide and was hoping it was a ‘no’ so he could’ve been completely honest, but he couldn’t be the deciding man on sending his potential bandmate bandmate home. He won’t make it past first rounds.
I think this is the only time I wanted someone to go through that didn't really sing well. Hope he buys some new jeans for this chance. Louis struggled with it like I did.

I felt that he was a little too aggressive with both songs but i get that was probably super nervous for being made to sing a second song again. I liked the first better than the second one, more of a star material in the first than the second one

I hope that further along in the competition he's able to relax and show more emotion than the obvious yearning and desperation for getting through. Now it was so overwhelming I couldn't feel the songs, I couldn't feel any emotion in the singing other than "I want this and you need to put me through". I'm glad they did give him a chance though because I think this guy has potential. He just needs to get over the fact that it didn't happen the last time. It's the past, leave it there and make this your year! Also Louis did a wonderful job. I understand how he just _couldn't_ be the one to send Tom home. I'm glad he didn't have to be. That can be done later on, if it turns out to be the only way to go.
I do not understand why they stopped the music, in my opinion, he did it very well .. I understand that maybe it was not the Best, but he deserved a "yes" from the first song he sang.

The ironic thing is he was better 10 years ago, more real, more relaxed, better song choice. If he could give up wanting it so badly and relax and find out what is really his, he might have a chance. You were closer 10 years ago, but you could still leap.
He also had to choose another song to sing in that audition 10 years ago as well.

Tom can sing better than Louis that’s why Louis was placed in a group he wasn’t going to win the competition as a solo artist! His voice isn’t strong enough.
Tom doesn’t have that great of a voice though. Louis has a distinct sound and it’s pleasant to listen to. This just sounds meh and I feel bad because he does seem like a nice guy
I think Simon is right. The performance doesn't seem natural. He's always going to have the One Direction thing hanging over his head. Unfortunately, not everyone is meant to be a star. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just life and you need to move on and find something else that makes you happy and fulfilled. He looks like he would be a good soap opera star honestly or a side character on a show like This Is Us.

I’m so glad he came back to the show! He really matured as a vocalist and he delivered an excellent performance. Although, I wish that Simon stopped giving him a death stare!
Jacob Elyachar I think Simon knew the reason behind Tom auditioning and probably didn't like that he was implying that they made a mistake in 2010 by not putting Tom into one direction. He was the last boys name called to make it to the top six and he clearly feels like that should've been him in one direction. Simon knows that one direction wouldn't have ever been the same without one of the five members. The boys, before Zayn left, wouldn't even call themselves one direction at their shows. I think it's more that Simon doesn't like to be questioned and this kid highly questions Simon's decisions from the past. And this is Simon's label, that he could potentially get signed to, I don't think Simon wants him to go through because he'd be constantly disagreeing with Simon. I think that's why Simon kept glaring at him, not because of his voice.
Caitlin Seufert thanks for the clarification! But I believe that Tom does deserves a second chance. If he doesn’t do well on XF, he could do the Voice UK. I could see will.i.am, Tom Jones, Olly and JHud (both who want to one up Simon) take him under their wing.
Jacob Elyachar I agree, but I think Simon was judging as the label executive who's pr team couldn't come up with a marketing plan that could work. I think it's the same reason he said no to that other group of men who also auditioned because they got eliminated by Simon for one direction. When Simon genuinely likes what he sees/hears, his eyes light up and he gets this dreamy look on his face. He knows his eyes give him away, so that's why he always wears sunglasses at judges houses. Like Tom and the group have already gone through this once, they didn't make it past judges houses. The label clearly couldn't see an audience to clearly market to or a category of music that they could fit into. I think if he does make it, he's going to have a hard time getting anywhere if he's in Cowell's category. Best chance is probably with Louis or Ayda.

Perfect timing to do so because the whole world is watching thanks to Louis Tomlinson from one direction being on the show. And if they do it right, they just might have some of the doors open to make them more successful than fifth harmony or little mix. They might have to jump ship to make it happen though, and if they don't, then they are too loyal for Cowell.

I’m really sorry I tried but l just don’t like him. He seems to aggressive to me and he oversang both songs. You can see, that he is still angry on Simon and I mean that’s not okay. Of course it is hard for him to think about if it could be when he would have been a part of one direction but it’s now 8 years ago and he is still angry.
And poor Louis hat to decide if he made it or not. Im not sure if he’d say yes to another person with the same voce. You could see how hard it was for him and l think he would feel heartbroken if he’d said no.❤️ The whole constellation between Simon, Louis and Tom felt wrong for me.

I was a huge directioner, and love Louis to bits, I have so much respect for him! He does have a huge heart in general, is a very strong person, he’s amazing & of course he has the ability to judge him, he has a lot more experience, even though they went through it together in 2010 and they’re the same age, YES, he has a lot of experience in the music industry to judge Tom now. His heart is massive! He cares so much about everybody, and shows so much passion for people, (ie with Antony) it’s incredible, especially now without 1D around, his real personality is really shining. However, he doesn’t have a big heart because of this video... I wouldn’t quite call it that... not only is it awkward because this guy ‘could have been in one direction’ (because he really could have in my opinion, I thought his audition was up there with there’s if not better), and they obviously were against each other in 2010.
But... Louis and Harry also made fun of Tom and his dad on a livestream... so that’s probably the reason it was even more awkward for him. No wonder he said yes, I’d feel bad too. He could have kicked him down again but chose not to. Obviously the video was hilarious back in 2010 when Louis & Harry were kids having a laugh at somebody else’s audition... but imagine been face to face with them 8yrs later, knowing that Tom has probably seen that video.
But my opinion on Tom, he really isn’t that great now & I don’t think he could be very successful in this day and age. But he could have easily been amazing, and gone so far in 2010 as I do think his audition was better than all of one directions original auditions. However, I’m not sure he would have fit in in one direction... maybe another boy band, ie Boyzone. He had a great voice in 2010, and it’s ok now, but he’s just really dated... dont where he would fit in unless he created his own niche band, so have to agree with the judges... and I think that was his problem in 2010 too. Where do they put him?

This guy can’t find the right rhythm at all. He was way too slow on Let It Go and almost too fast for Rag’n’Bone Man. He also needs to lay off the gym a bit and look a little more “soft” - the super hard exterior and tights clothes makes him look Hulk-ish and it’s not approachable.
Louis did not want to give him a ‘yes’. He was waiting for her to decide and was hoping it was a ‘no’ so he could’ve been completely honest, but he couldn’t be the deciding man on sending his potential bandmate bandmate home. He won’t make it past first rounds.

I do not like Simon, regardless of what he did with 1D, he angers me as he interacts with Louis, I think he does not believe in what Louis says, and he's only there for raiting, I hope Louis wins this season.

What makes us question whether he is a good singer or not is his vibrato, his very fast and doesn't really suit pp music.
Not too sure about him at this point.
But he can go a long way with the right mentor and the right song choices.
