All that was said is don’t you love her music and how everyone is embracing and celebrating Lizzo. And then Jillian went on to speak on Lizzo’s health like she had done a screening on her personally. I don’t think it’s stupid if someone were to randomly comment on your health to complete strangers and say something like, “she seems slim but with no athletic tone, she could be bulimic.” No one should assume anything about anyone’s health. Nick Jonas is a slim and athletic looking man and he has diabetes, meaning that anyone can have it, you don’t have to be a “ bigger” person to be ill or unhealthy.

Me being 15 pounds in excess is classified as overweight. Me at 170 or 180 to who knows where the upper limit lies, is me being obese. Me being a 5'4" woman at 300 pounds and probably unable to walk would certainly be morbidly obese.
Just watched the interview in question, definitely plays differently than described and portrayed by the ladies. Wasn’t as sinister as they’re trying to make it seem. The interviewer was the one who mentioned Lizzo and Jillian was just saying she’d rather celebrate her for her music rather than her body. That’s the message everyone should be taking away. Maybe if we stopped focusing on how people look and just focus on what they bring to the table there might be more substance and less auto-tuning in the world.
This is why I didn't want Amanda on here. If I wanted to listen to things on race issues, I'd watch a different TH-cam channel. Sometimes it does come up in conversation; but this had zero to do with race. With both her and loni together; this is about to become "black community therapy" and I'm not here for it. I don’t think it’s stupid if someone were to randomly comment on your health to complete strangers and say something like, “she seems slim but with no athletic tone, she could be bulimic.” No one should assume anything about anyone’s health. Nick Jonas is a slim and athletic looking man and he has diabetes, meaning that anyone can have it, you don’t have to be a “ bigger” person to be ill or unhealthy.

Despite this, they continued to say the Jillian was the problem and not national obesity, directly contrasting what they just said.

Me at 170 or 180 to who knows where the upper limit lies, is me being obese.

Just watched the interview in question, definitely plays differently than described and portrayed by the ladies. Wasn’t as sinister as they’re trying to make it seem. The interviewer was the one who mentioned Lizzo and Jillian was just saying she’d rather celebrate her for her music rather than her body. That’s the message everyone should be taking away. Maybe if we stopped focusing on how people look and just focus on what they bring to the table there might be more substance and less auto-tuning in the world.

It's not about the race. My god, it's getting so annoying when this statement is overused. It's not about race. We should love our bodies, of course. And your body shape should not change the way you are treated. BUT Jillian wasn't saying anything wrong. Was the way she said it disrespectful? Yeah, maybe. But she's got a point. Being overweight can cause health problems like diabetes. She's right.
But if Lizzo loves her body and herself the way she is, and as long as she's informed in the POSSIBLE health risks, then let her do what she wants. It's her body and she can do whatever she wants with it, take care of it the way she wants to, etc.
I don't blame Jillian. She's just trying to promote healthier lifestyles...I mean, America is the country with the highest rate of obesity. She's not doing it out of cruelty or malice; she's trying to help people.
