- Some political parties in the Western Cape have lodged an urgent court bid seeking extension of the period to dispute election results.
This comes after dissatisfaction with the results in some parts of the province.

If they feel there is evidence, then allow an investigation to take place, as per the contestation process. The DA can't be upset when they were the ones complaining that they were losing voters because of the IEC A DAY AGO.
Hey, I'm not 100 percent sure of the allegations' validity, but I don't think the demands of the opposition parties are unreasonable as I understand them now. There have been some alleged discrepancies in the count coming from parties ranging from the VF+ to the EFF. What I understand they're asking is that the disputes process is not fair as it stands. Disputes had to be registered with IEC by 9pm yesterday (31 May) when all results aren't out yet. It's not logical on the IEC's behalf to close the process when there are already allegations and we're not even done counting the votes. At the very least the IEC should postpone the deadline.

Mayhem, typical behaviour for sore losers in SA. I almost expected one of those unruly chanters to pull out a knife and attack Winde much like taxi bosses torching buses because they 'steal' their routes, e-hailing drivers getting attacked for the same reason, truck drivers getting killed because someone else wants their job etc. etc... Why can't those SA citizens just accept losing gracefully and not immediately hatch a plan to assault the victor. Why this immediate negativity and hate. The DA doing well in the Western Cape, where it has governed for years and had similar election results in the past, why is this suspicious and must have been achieved just by vote rigging? And MK taking over the whole of KZN from the ANC as a new party with zero election history is perfectly understandable and acceptable? I don't get that logic. Even if some votes were 'fishy' it would make zero difference considering the margin and those red-clad EFF chanters and their +/- 5% would still not be 50%. If you feel aggrieved, go the proper channels and approach the IEC and don't behave like a moron in a pub brawl.

You're missing the point. If the DA had lost, they would demand a recount due to the errors and anomalies picked up during the process. However, they want to gaslight everybody because those anomalies were likely in their favour. If they have any integrity, they would welcome a recount to prove that their win is legitimate. If the votes are there, there's niks to worry about.

That results does look suspicious with that big of a gap, the people in the WC is appalled with the DA, sure they'll get votes, but that gap is too suspiciously wide. The only way to know is with a recount. Shouldn't hurt the DA if the results are found to be correct.

The Western Cape has the most efficiently running municipalities..this is a fact, not a rumour. This is why people keep supporting the DA. Compare the result with 2019, they only gained a small percentage of votes. People are serious about fraud and corruption.
They will attend to the concerns raised, I am sure. There is no reason to start insults and spread rumours before facts were checked.
