    Yes! so true. I bought it too and couldn't figure it out either! I'm returning mine this weekend! I want a creative memories type of tab punch but no one makes them anymore.

      +Carol Moore Most of the older TH-cam scrapbooking videos feature the sanctimonious StampinUp ROUNDED TAB PUNCH (evidently made by EK Success). I've contacted both companies numerous times as to why this extremely popular punch was RETIRED. This punch is now SCALPED online for up to $150. You'd think self-righteous SU would work to RECTIFY this situation. I think this is the most irritating aspect (among MANY) of the papercrafting industry. They retire their best stuff & replace it with stupid things like cupcake & mustache clutter. I wish I'd never invested in it.

    Yay! I am not alone!! I also though... Wait! Waaat??? So glad to see I'm not the only one who finds the punch to be totally unfit for purpose.

    glue just the small portion to the folder so the bigger part sticks above. Also, you need to use cardstock or something so it is stiffer material.

    I bought one of these punches. I'm so glad you posted this video. I have no idea how to use this punch.

    It was designed for scrapbooking.

    Ok I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by this design. I noticed the inverted shape before I opened the package but figured I was just overthinking something so I opened it and gave it a try and still shook my head. Their website recommends using thin card stock with it too, so It wouldn't be sturdy enough if you just attached it with the narrower part to the page and left the folded part sticking out.

    When I first saw it I thought it was a Chevy bowtie type punch!! I see they responded to you. I don't remember ever seeing anyone use a tab punch as an "embellishment" on anything. If the shape was a ticket - that would totally make sense.

    Just bought this and thought the same thing! Came to TH-cam thinking I would find someone with the answer--SO sad I bought this on Amazon...It will be a hassle to take back!

    It's looking like it's a defect. Amazon reviews are bad as well. I would definitely return it!

    OMG.. I JUST bought the same punch and realized the same thing. Please do let us know if you get a reasonable answer from Fiskars.

    LOL, I just bought this on clearance at Joann and said the exact things you did when I got it home. I folded it the opposite way and like that. When looking at the punched piece, fold the left end to the right end, not top to bottom. Make sense?? Works great that way!!!

    omg I wish I had seen this sooner! I can't even return this silly thing now.

      +Anovikaj Fiskars guarantees their products for life. All you need to do is go to their site & fill out their email form explaining the problem. You can probably replace it with ANYTHING on their site of comparable value. You don't even have to submit a receipt. You should also write Ms. Collins & ask her, as an experienced crafter/designer, WTF she was thinking.

    LOL...I just bought one today as well. Got home and couldn't figure it out....returning it tomorrow. Too bad Fiskars can't just post a youtube to explain this!

    to reconfigure their design would be easy. I just drew out what it should look like.

    I bought this on clearance at Joann also lol. I folded it the other way so that the notches matched up. Even folding it that way, it looks funny.

    I agree that this is a total design flaw. If Teresa Collins meant it to be only decorative, the packaging should warn consumers that it is not the functional product the end consumer expects it to be. So glad I didn't buy one.

    I agree. Bought this silly thing today and it's going back tomorrow. Glad I'm not the only one that is confused. So bummed. Upside down! Even the little 'actual size' pic on the packaging shows it the way it SHOULD be not the way it turns out.

    I almost bought this at the craft store, but the design looks so stupid...the skinny part should be in the middle, because that's supposed to be the tab that sticks out. Fiskars totally did it wrong.

    Hi ibmomof2, we're sorry you're not happy with our tab punch. We'd love to share a photo and explain why it was designed this way. Would you please email socialmedia@fiskars.com? We'd love to help!

      +Fiskars TO FISKARS: WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE A VIDEO ON THIS STUPID PUNCH INSTEAD OF HAVING A KAJILLION INFURIATED CONSUMERS EMAIL YOU??? TC is such a hard sell in her videos I avoid buying her items.

    I bought this thing, too, and no longer have a receipt. It's pretty useless. A tab is supposed to be functional, not necessarily decorative. If it's both, that's ideal. The only example I could find on the Internet of the tab being used was on Teresa Collins' blog itself: www.teresacollinsdesignsblog.com/2014/10/free-project-and-craft-industry-today.html. Too bad I didn't see this first. I would not have bought the punch, had I seen this.

    I read all the negative reviews AFTER I bought the thing. I did manage to make it work, but aggravating. I used double sided tape (or glue) to attach. I had to just gage how to place it. Waste of money.

  • @thefoxicorn

    You're definitely not alone. This punch design is stupid, decorative or not. If it's supposed to simply be decorative, it shouldn't be sold as a functional punch.

  • @tamila7381
    @tamila7381 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    exactly! your not stupid, this tab punch sucks!

  • @wickednailsrylee
    @wickednailsrylee 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Darn. Totally useless. What did Fiskars say, that you're supposed to fold it in half and staple it like they show on the TC blog? Who would do that?! Mine is going back too. Ridiculous.

    Hello! YT wouldn't let me respond to your comment on my channel. sorry! This is confusing!!! Maybe it is a manufacturer error??? So odd!! I will see if I can find something out but this is just strange!!
