The problem was, who was determining what "Too Many People" meant. More people died in car crashes in 1984 than all on and off road motorcycle and ATC crashes combined. Like 10 fold. No one banned cars. I'd really like to find out the true story behind the killing of the ATC.

Great bike! The 250r three wheelers handle great at the dunes. They keep the tires on the sand going over transitions and are much lighter than quads. Been riding at the dunes for 25 years and don't like my quad as much as my 250r in the sand.
I remember these conversion kits for sale in the back of dirt wheels mag. I regret selling my 85 atc250r and 84 atc500x I built. things ya sell in life and miss still 20 years later

I got a 250r about two months ago and looking to put a cr500 motor in it I think it's a great bike most people's hate because they want it or they try to make others feel uneasy about it to better their odds and pay less and some just don't want to see it at the drag track beside them but that thing is a monster 👹

He's actually gently blipping the throttle to keep it from sputtering and dying. Isn't it cool how you can hear individual power strokes! Bang BANG bang bang bang... Imagine a start gate full of 500's bang banging at each other until the 5 second board comes out, then a deafening roar, replaced by what sounds like an agitated hive of 100 pound hornets as the gate drops and they charge to the first turn! It was very cool. Unfortunately for the 500 2-stk, 250 2-stks were far easier to ride and were much faster on an MX track. I switched in 1995...
Isn't it funny how all these idiots dont understand why the bike doesnt idle very well. I LMAO at these comments people are making and trash talking what to me sounds like a pretty solid bike and it seems a lot of these people dont realize how often you have to rebuild a 2 stroke bike because they are so uncommon these days that these kids have not been around them enough to know. It is sad, I love my 4 stroke quads they are a blast to ride and fast. Easier to ride and have loads of low end power that my old 250r quad lacked but my god that R was a beast when you kept the rpm high and held on for dear life lol. I would love to see more 2 strokes racing these days .... they sound so much better than these fart can 4 strokes everyone rides these days
Nice ATC!👍 Suggest letting warm up at least 60 seconds longer than what you did in this video, 4 min without throttling at all, just straight idle would be perfect for this big 2 stroke.👍👏 Thanks again for posting , very enjoyable video 👏
