Brighten up my morning Shawn, your channel has brought peace to my life🙏🏼 Much Respect From Northern AZ 🇺🇸🙏🏼🇺🇸 Thank you for everything you’ve done and still do!
@foraging seeker I've had one for years and my camping partner years before that. We have used the original model extensively and the new model a few times. I think they're great but they receive a lot of hate on TH-cam. Not sure why. It's a wood burning stove. It also makes electricity. It is NOT an electricity-making device. We've used them in every weather, every season, between the two of us we have three of them and all three have held up great.
@foraging seeker I bought one strictly as an additional tool for the occasional power outage, winter storm. Turns out my new camping partner had one for years so we used it on camping trips too. Would I use it on a through-hike of the AT? Probably not, it's heavy. But as an additional tool in the kit, I like it!
I love mine, use it a lot, on my privately owned area. Much like your property, and mine works great. Bagged a few squirrels and rabbits which cooked great on it. Plus big mouth bass did good too. I usually keep a stock of cotton balls saturated in Vaseline, works great as a fire starter, also in a pinch a 0 volt battery with steel wool. Much mad respect brother. Love your property. Stay safe brother.
So the fan + the design is supposed to make it into a wood gasifier stove, which means it burns a lot of the gas that comes off burning wood that is wasted. So the wood doesn't burn that much, but the gass coming off burns. I had a gen 1, it works, but I always found it to be finicky, especially with damp wood, and you kinda need to be able to burn damp wood when camping. I also don't like having to remove the pot to add wood. Especially with such a small combustion chamber. I'm much happier with my firebox gen 2 stove. Best thing since sliced bread, if you learn how to use it well. If anyone does get one of these, I totally recommend getting the BBQ for it. That was pretty cool! Only reason I didn't sell it for a couple years was I could have little BBQs in the park, where none were allowed.
My wife and I watched this together. She wants one. We are in Montana, live out in the sticks and could use one of those things on occasion. I got her Ameriglo tritium sights for her Glock and 500 rounds of ammo for her birthday. (Because I am such a romantic fella) now maybe I will get her this for the next holiday. 👍🇺🇸
@@riversavage5608 They really arent that great, if you need a charge just carry a battery pack or solar charger these charge way to slow to make anything viable. I'm not sure how you think it's inefficient. It's producing a very hot and clean flame while also generating electricity from burning nothing but twigs. Granted it takes a long time to charge anything but it's very self reliant. I love my gen 1.

It's not so bad if you're using wood pellets because you can basically pour them in using some kind of spout which will allow some distance. Also, planning ahead (dare i say prepping ha ha) will help. If the wood is ready and cut to the right length you should be able to toss it in without too much trouble. Also, gloves help.
This technology is a game changer for 3rd world countries. Seen this tech first hand living in Uganda a few years back... many homes had little to no electricity or they couldn’t afford it. A solar light and a power stove goes a long way in those constant conditions. This one is even better. Nice
My go to was always the MSR backpacking stoves. They run on pretty much any kind of fuel you can find and boil water very fast even at high elevations.

B LEHMKUHL I did burn my damn finger feeding from the top.
They should pack it with survival mittens
Like any fire prep, have your wood ready to go. Lift the pot, toss in a chunk, a second or so.
This technology is a game changer for 3rd world countries. Seen this tech first hand living in Uganda a few years back... many homes had little to no electricity or they couldn’t afford it. A solar light and a power stove goes a long way in those constant conditions. This one is even better. Nice
The inventors created that style of stove first, they downsized it into this version.
I could happily pull up a chair and enjoy a cigar and coffee at that spot!
Beautiful area!
Thanks for doing a review on this Shawn. I feel like this is going to fly off the shelves now haha they should pay you for marketing
What kind of knife you caring? That was a good looking piece as well.
I call the thing a crucible. I like filling it with wood pellets and giving a dash of alcohol to the top and it gives a great burn for 30-40 minutes.
Another great video! Lightens up my day whilst in quarantine. I loved the Alpaca videos too, living the dream.
Cheers, hopefully this is all over sooner than later.
Awesome video! What’s the blade?
A knife review would be rad!
My go to was always the MSR backpacking stoves. They run on pretty much any kind of fuel you can find and boil water very fast even at high elevations.
yeah but they don't charge your phone
