@VenomX It's been going really good, I learned a lot recently and its not as hard as I thought. Lots of painting, toilet calls, pee traps, and keurig calls. About to start shadowing day shift for a little bit more experience.
No sir. 10:48. You just made it 1,000 times easier to break into that room. That’s your deadlocking plunger, the bottom, smaller latch. That piece’s job is to prevent shimming attacks. It’s supposed to be forced into the door like that. When depressed, it prevents the main latch from depressing. When the door is shut, the deadlocking plunger is supposed to stay depressed so it is activated. If it’s getting caught, that should be addressed without disabling the function.
No amount of training can prepare you for hotel maintenance this guy makes it look easy And is a great engineer he takes pride in his work. Experience is alot.
I teach a hotel facilities management class (housekeeping and a little bit of maintenance). I love this video and will be sharing it with my class. You really captured a day in the life of a maintenance person. I also love how you advocate for the housekeepers and clean up after yourself! Thank you for posting.
Try work around your top and middle hinges with longer screws as the weight of the door will make it lose level and fall down, and most probably will save you a lot of time on trimming the frame and frame's plate. I get similar problems on my doors
I have been doing pool maintenance for a while now and would like to add that the pool filter selector valve should be rotated clockwise only. Also the correct sequence for pool filter cleaning is backwash, rinse then filtration. I hope that helps, keep up the good work.
I’ve been out of work with an injury for the last two months. This video popped up on my feed and it is exactly what I do at work but we don’t have a pool. Union pay rates this is one of the best jobs in the industry.
I’m a hotel maintenance at a Hilton property! Things can surely get interesting during the day! Your pool filter setup is way different than the one I deal with! I even have to deal with a spa. Out pool and spa are salt water which is hard on our pool equipment. I’ve had door issues as you did I usually take the screws out of the bottom of hinge side and lift with a pry bar then put the screws back in. Usually takes care of the issue. You seem to be a more patient of a guy then I am. I can tell by how you speak. The one downside of being a maintenance man is being on call 24/7 but it’s what is expected with the job. Great job your doing stay safe and stay healthy

2:34 as soon as I heard the voice I knew it was something simple. I reminds me of getting these constant calls from my father in law, every trip was something like this, even him just holding the TV remote backwards( several times). Dude had a brain tumor so I can't fault the poor guy, the fact that he called me ( from 40 min away) than my useless brother in law (just 5 min away) was an honor to me, lol!

I've been thinking about doing hotel maintenance. I was wondering if you work nights and how many weekends you get to take off? There is an apartment maintenance course at the local college that I would think would definitely help me get a job in this trade.
No I don’t work nights. I have Sunday and Monday off. Yes definitely take all the courses you can because it would definitely look great in your resume. Good luck and thank you for watching my videos

@@zoomavlogs For me not having that much knowledge in HVAC but our hotel has Vtac and it’s a pain. But I would say from watching your videos Ptac looks easier to handle and maintain.
If you have no experience I’m sure they will start you with light work until you get used to the building. That’s exactly what happened to me when I first started hotel maintenance. Congratulations and good luck my friend 👍

No problem. Good luck

Why clockwise only?
@@danielmulholland5869 Because I read the manual

How long on backwash & rinse? 10 minutes each?
10 min backwash? Never heard of that before, i do ours for 1 or until sightglass clear

Not happy with the outcome of that door, Don't you think it could be the door hinges wearing out?

Would you rather have a ptac unit or vtac unit?
Ptac are easy to handle. How about you?
@@zoomavlogs For me not having that much knowledge in HVAC but our hotel has Vtac and it’s a pain. But I would say from watching your videos Ptac looks easier to handle and maintain.
On that door sticking you should have checked the top hinge on the door in case it was loose.
I was going to say the same thing
Yes, and a sprite level just to verify that it's off level.
I was thinking the samething Grinding down the latch is a temporary fix it'll work . But either the hinge is loose or the frames needs to be adjusted
This is a daily issue in maintenance. Uhhhhhg
