My god! I've been watching book tubers for the last few months and NO ONE has mentioned Ken follett and the Kingsbridge series! Finally someone who talks about really good books rather than hyped up new releases. I've literally just purchased the shardlake series too.... I'm subbing lol

I just loved The century trilogy, by Ken Follett. It is my favorite trilogy ever! I do love The seven sisters series, by Lucinda Riley, as well. What a talent!!

My favourite epic stories are the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon . Perfect if you like history , romance and time travel . Beautifully written series full of mystery , intrigue and fantastic historical detail . I thoroughly recommend them .

I was watching it on Netflix and it was sooo amazing! Then I found out it was a book series so I decided to stop watching until I've read them.

Thanks for reminding me of the Ken Follett series. I added both series to my TBR.

C J Sansom's Shardlake novels are wonderful. As are The Cazalets, except for the last one in the series which was written a long time after the others and has a very different feel in my opinion.

As I already commented below your excellent Norwich video, my favourite epic stories are certainly the Shardlake novels of CJ Sansom, but I also love the Kingsbridge and the Century trilogies of Ken Follett. Historic novels and crime stories are my favourite genre, I never really got into the fantasy and horror genre, as I can't enjoy the often absurd plots. But in the end about taste cannot be argued 😉

Ooh I will watch the Norwich video as that's where I live!
I love this concept for a video.
I am planning on re-reading the earth's children series which was written from 1980s to 2000s and is set in prehistoric times. As a teen I adored it, so we'll see if it stands the test of time!
I've had pillars of the earth for years and really need to get to it.

I display the book covers of "The Evening and the Morning" and "My Dark Vanessa" (us version) as works of art. So beautiful!! 📚👸🏻💖💕

I love the Shardlake series, I feel like im right there in that same time period with him.
I'm listening to a radio drama of the series now, it's very well done. The author was a real lawyer, and history scholar, which makes the books stories so real

Love the Kingsbridge series, but only liked the first book in his Century trilogy. The second book was ok, but the third one was terrible. Follett is an excellent author and has been around for a long time. Sansom’s series is a favorite of mine, too. I’d like to check out the Seven Sisters and Howard’s series as well.

Ken Follet can't put a sentence together and his stories have no plot. I don't understand why people like him.

    • @Silverraine1

    • @simgingergirl

Silver Raine because there isn’t one. I’ll read any historical fiction and his books are just a mess. There’s never an overarching conflict that affects his cast of thin and stereotypical characters and he has a crazy obsession with public hair! I have no idea why anyone likes his books. They’re a mess.
